History
Established in 1977.
Since 1977, Dr. Honor Franklin has specialized in Orofacial Myofunctional therapy, elimination of non-nutritive sucking habits and articulation speech disorders. Her graduate studies were in Communications Disorders — Speech-Language Pathology and Special Education from the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Texas at Dallas and the Callier Center for Communication Disorders in Dallas. She is a Certified Orofacial Myologist/Myofuntional Therapist certified by the International Association of Orofacial Myology and she is the ONLY Certified Orofacial Myologist/Myofunctional Therapist in Dallas, Texas. She is also a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist certified by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and maintains licensure in Speech-Language Pathology by the State of Texas. She has been in private practice since 1977 and her caseload consists of 80% oral myofunctional disorders and 20% speech disorders.

Since 1977, Dr. Franklin has specialized in the evaluation and treatment of Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders in children and adults which include an incorrect resting lip and tongue posture, an incorrect swallowing pattern (known as «tongue thrust»), prolonged non-nutritive sucking habits and related articulation (speech) disorders. She is a Board Certified Orofacial Myologist/Myofunctional Therapist through the International Association of Orofacial Myology and is the ONLY Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist in Dallas! In addition, she is a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Dr. Franklin has had extensive training and experience with orofacial myofunctional disorders and articulation (speech) disorders and is considered an expert in these fields.
In addition to having a busy private practice, she lectures to orthodontic residents at the Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry educating them about orofacial myofunctional disorders, lectures at numerous dental study groups
