a cool organization that is all about organizing people who want to help and volunteer in the community in this case specific to white rock lake — — they will supply you with the gloves and trash bags if your doing trash pickup along with a brief training of what to be aware of as the kinds of trash you may come across and how to handle the disposal of … they also has drinks and food on hand and there were lots of volunteers so it is an active organization that does good around the lake.

For the Love of the Lake… sounds kind of wordy for a name. But it really does spell out what’s important to these folks. They are excited about keeping White Rock the urban oasis that it is.
Any Saturday between 8 a.m. and noon you can stop by their office and get trash pick up equipment and head to the lake to help. Yes, I know you’re hung over, but it’s good karma. Besides the fresh air and exercise will help get all the alcohol out of your system.
They have a Second Saturday Spruce up every second Saturday of the month (go figure). There are refreshments and door prizes. I’m always on the scout for free stuff!
They also sponsor adopt a shoreline and other charitable lake benefiting events. You really should check out their website. Lots of interesting lake info and what not!
