Super nice store!!! But way overpriced! they want $ 17 for a bio wheel, when you can buy the same one for only six dollars online… Really?!?

Nice selection of African cichlids. Medium to high priced. We bought seven African cichlids there. We did have to walk around two employees having a conversation. They did not offer to help or move so we could pass by. We didn’t want to be rude so we went the other way. However, other employees further back in the store were helpful.
Let me say they have a very large selection of whatever type of fish you might be looking for. Their fish are healthy. When they found out we were looking at cichlids, they sent someone over who knew cichlids. He was very helpful. We will be back.

I love this place! They have a great selection of fish and plants and decorations. They are very nice and helpful. I have visited Fish Gallery many times and always find what I’m looking for. Most recently I was looking for a unique looking pleco and fell in love with a Goldie Pleco, so adorable!

love this place, love browsing through the livestock always a pretty good selection. The only negative is the customer service.

new mgmt, still under staffed, some employees very knowledgeable others no. i love the tranquility, the 20,000 Tank in front of big leather soda is my go to place for serenity .
however, selection of Koi is Nill. 1 koi, lg, muddy color they want $ 80! $$/​if u ask 2 different employess you get 3 different prices .
They thinly veil the fact they’ve taken on hosting kids bday parties as another revenue source and do not enjoy it…
Didn’t see anything unique, slow service, couldn’t answer basic questions ex: koi gestation or cycles. High prices unless u can get a preowned deal.
They had no knowledge of new Pond Boss uv, filteration System i went in to puchase.
Just not as friendly as under old manager Chris. seem focused on high margin selling rather than meeting needs of hobbyist.

I have returned to this location despite the bad experience. It seems as though they have upped their customer service considerably. They have the best livestock on the Dallas area.

So disappointing. I was referred here by another aquatics store. I called to make sure that they had live freshwater plants before I came out here. On the phone they advised me that they had a huge selection. When I came the only selection they had was dying or already dead. It also took 15 mins before I was able to interject their personal conversations for help. I will never come back.

I received communication from the store’s management and was pleased with their attention to improve and/​or correct their customer service in Dallas. While the previous review contains no error of content as to the locale’s product stock or general knowledge base; I do, on point, amend the customer service evaluation that the recent visit’s offense was not the normal expectation in the understanding that, at least from the recent communication from their management, their commitment to provide outstanding customer service is an honest one.
As to product selection, this locale offers several items, even on casual observation, that are not readily available, either in branding or in volume, that will interest any aquarium hobbyist’s refined needs. Depending on the requirements of your home aquarium system and stock, it is and should be understood that some common items may be found elsewhere at a lower price; and having stated that, the availability of common items along with the other varied supplies and stock may simply be convenience enough if your primary reason for visiting the store extends beyond general items and stock and requires a more refined selection, i.e. inclusive of novelty and specialty.

Good selection of freshwater fish, but their saltwater selection is very poor and I’ve seen lots of aptasia and other issues in their coral tanks. Also, the one time I bought freshwater plants here, I got beard algae in my tank (still trying to get rid of it months later).
Their specialty seems to be custom freshwater installations.

Upon entry to the store it is easy to be blown away by the selection of tanks and fish. However, this is NOT a store for the amateur who is not passionate and knowledgeable about fish. As a science teacher I have had a classroom tank for a number of years stocked with relatively hardy (and modestly inexpensive) fish and had few problems. A recent snail problem sent me searching for clown loaches and I found them, although expensive, at Fish Gallery. Armed with two, and the assurances of the staff that this was the best solution, I placed them in the tank. They were the only new additions to the tank.
Within three days, spots appeared on most of the other fish in the tank (Ich). Recommended chemical treatments, temp changes, and water changes did nothing to stop the decline. Within 7 days of placing the clown loaches in the tank, 90% of my tank is dead (only catfish survived).
This kind of setback is a problem but Fish Gallery’s true colors shone through loud and clear when I called to let them know (Day 5). The response was to immediately remind me that they do not guarantee any of their fish and they would check their fish. They then hung up – no «I’m sorry»; no «can we take your name and number»; no «we can give you some credit or a discount on repopulating your tank».
Well, they got my money once. I will never return to a store for which the customer service is SO BAD. I recommend no one else shop there either. Take your kids here to see lots of fishes but buy at any other location. Write up on store says owner has a passion for fish — maybe — but he has no passion for being in business.
Update: I appreciated the response from Paul. We have declined to have further contact and will work to reset the tank over the next few weeks with a different source. We never were looking for a hand out — just wanted to let them know that they had sick fish for sale. I suspect they know that now and we wish them well in their endeavors. JB

Silly me I forgot to buy fish food for the Kraken (he’s a beta fish named the Kraken he’s cool).
I went here and they made sure I knew how to properly take care of my cute little fish.(I mean my manly tough fish heehee). They love the fact that he lives in a measuring cup but made sure I changed the water every week and even recommended a better water cleaner. Something more geared towards Bettas.
They’ve got a ton of fish and fish tanks and foods, and toys and I think you get the idea.

staff is pretty helpful, but what impresses me is how nicely the store is kept and the prices are very fair.

I love the fish gallery, plain and simple. They have several amazing tanks set up just for your viewing pleasure.
They have a wide variety of fish shipped in often, and always have something new and exciting. Often times, this includes something I’ve never seen before. The tanks are always clean and nicely set up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any floaters… and all of the fish I’ve gotten here have been healthy and live very long lives.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Most of them have been working there for years. The prices are also just about right.
I would recommend this place to any fish enthusiast, or anyone looking for a tank set up. Just come in and look around. You won’t be disappointed!
