Dine in is better than take out since you can have unlimited salsa and chip bar. Fountain drinks or traditional aguas dulces as well as bottled mexican soda. Mostly chicken based but has some beef. Not as good as chicken. Beef tastes funky.

Best part about this place is definitely the fast service. When you go through the drive through, you can assure that your entire meal will be ready in 2−3minutes tops. However, I do not recommend actually doing a walk-in because that is where the service is really slow. Also, this place does not just do fast food, their Mexican food is more of a homemade style. My favorite meal is the grilled chicken with rice combo because of all of the great sauces that they include with it! Considering how much food you get for the price, this place is really cheap but the quality is still high.

I love it here! The prices are decent and the portions are good. Don’t get me started on how amazing the chicken is; seriously I think they put crack in it or something because I am addicted. Everytime I’m in the area I always have to stop and get something. Service is always great and the food is prepared extremely fast. I’ve never had an issue with them and this is definitely a must for flavorful chicken that’s not fried.

I don’t know what they do to their chicken, but they are the reason I HATED El Pollo Loco while living in LA. Seriously, people got sick of me saying, «Fly to Texas, hit up Regio’s and then hit me back» The chicken here is always flavorful, moist, and I am a sucker for the beans, rice, and tortillas. And yes, that big grilled onion even hold a special place in my heart. If you really want a treat, go inside and hit up the condiment bar. It is extensive and the habanero and onion slaw is not to be missed. If you are looking for something a bit sweet, go ahead and order the Churro. It is filled with Dulce de Leche. You can never go wrong with that. The Churro is almost $ 2 and it is totally worth it. The other thing you can get here that sets my heart a blaze is HORCHATA!!! I love horchata more that your Tio Chuy loves his white cowboy boots with the gold tips. Yeah. It goes that deep.

I always smell the food at this place when I pass by. I am finally giving it a try and soon as I pull up to the window just throw the customer service out of it as well. Hopefully the food is worth my $ 13.46 and better than customer service

Er. Mah. Gaad. This chicken is ridiculously delicious. Like, for real for real. First off, the marinade is a citrusy, tangy, spicy amalgam of wonderfulness that permeates every inch of the bird. The skin, a little crisp from the grill, is caked with the marinade/rub which just add another level of yumminess! Sides are delicioso(especially the green sauce) and service is pretty fast(had to pull around front for my flautas though). Yes, it’s a chain but it’s a local chain so that doesn’t count, right? So glad I gave this place a try!

i usually eat here at least once a week since it is close by and the lunch special is the ticket. i usually get the chicken since u cant mess it up, have tried a cpl of other things and they just were not fresh or they were over cooked? all in all it is a good place to eat and there is a new one opening soon in red oak.

Wanted tacos. Got tacos. Got flautas. Also got their version of green avocado salsa. I can’t really complain about this place. Well, maybe the amount of time it takes to get your food at a drive thru window. We had to circle around and park in the front for quite some time. Nothing really sets this place apart from any other taco joint but it isn’t horrible and that’s always good. Most likely will return.

Best place for grilled chickens and Mexican hamburger. Grilled chickens come with all the fixings… chicken, beans, rice, tortillas, a whole grilled onion and salsa. The way i do my tacos is you add everything into the tortilla and top with the salsa. Ask for the green avocada salsa and possibly even buy some extras these salsas are addicting. The Mexican Hamburger is a hamburger but its bigger than your face. And comes with a full plate of fries. OMG. You could share 1 hamburger between 2 people and it only costs 7 bucks. Dont forget to add green salsa on the burger and man oh man. Thats all you need that green salsa.

This is now my favorite chicken spot… The guy in the drive thru was kinda of not welcoming. But the bird was awesome I bought the whole chicken meal with rice, beans and corn tortillas cost was $ 13.95. The beans were mediocre and the rice was good, but not enough. The chicken was the delicious.

I don’t like to review Chains ~ But the grilled chicken here is GOOD I cant speak on the rest of the menu items as they seem a bit overpriced. But the Chicken is worth it.

This is some delicious yard bird! but why are their sides so ridiculously small? Rice and beans are cheap. I think Hooters has larger side portions than this place. They have a great salsa bar but your bird does not come with chips. If you order a whole chicken, you get the same small containers of sides. Order the whole bird if you want leftover chicken, but don’t order a bird with plans of splitting. You’ll certainly be eating chile tacos to fill up. We frequently pair this bird with our leftovers. Another solution, I’ve gone here and taken my own bag of chips in. The workers stare at us but Mexicanos going to do that either way.
Did I mention that they have some delicious yard bird?!

Love the grill chicken and beef dishes. Reminds me of el pollo loco in California

The humble exterior(read that: kind of run down) of this place disguises the delicious chicken within. The chicken at El Pollo Regio trumps that I have had at similar restaurants like El Pollo Loco. What the place lacks in atmosphere it makes up in flavor. The chicken came wrapped in white butcher paper, similar to what you’ll find in down-home BBQ establishments. It was flavorful and juicy. I kept licking my fingers. This place doesn’t skimp on the sides, either. There were enough corn tortillas for three people, and the servings of rice and beans were ample for two. In contrast, the last time I dined at an El Pollo Loco they had posted a sign stating they were reducing the number of tortillas per order to keep prices down(e.g., reduce costs). And speaking of the rice – it was some of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. It was well seasoned and flavorful. I only wish I could prepare Mexican rice that well(and I’m a trained chef). Do yourself a favor, and look past the dodgy exterior. Get yourself some chicken!

I normally don’t give 5 star to chain restaurant but my goodness. El Pollo Regio is kind a like El pollo loco in California but 10 times better. My husband and I shared half chicken meal. It came with flavored rice, beans and 10 home made corn tortilla. We also ordered side order chips(Which was not on the menu but they were happy to make one for us fresh) and they even gave us freshly made pico de gallo salsa. The half chicken meal $ 7.99 was really flavorful and juicy with nice fruit marinade flavor. Rice and beans was good too. The side order Chips was $ 1.50 for a whole plate freshly fried served super hot and super good. Pico de gallo was the bomb too. I believe we found our favorite Chicken spot.
