Courtyard Dallas Northwest

Stayed here for a night on 5÷14÷16 while Brian P & I were in town for wedding planning. From the outside, this looks like an older hotel. Once inside, they have obviously spent quite a bit of money to remodel.
So why 2 stars? The place smells like a wet lake house. You know, that mildew-​y, musty smell that permeates older homes in humid places? It takes your breath away, it was so strong.
The place looked clean despite the smell and the bed was comfortable. The was no free breakfast and no fancy Paul Mitchell amenities like what was pictured here. The business center computers have old versions of Internet Explorer (can’t change their settings) so we could’t print out our boarding passes on the computer or even at the boarding pass kiosk that they have, which completely defeats the purpose of this special computer.
The smell alone makes me not want to recommend this place.

No free breakfast! Come on, Marriott… They did have a bistro in the lobby that served breakfast lunch dinner and alcoholic drinks. We didnt get anything there.
Eep! There wasn’t a hairdryer in my room, so I went to a professional conference with wet hair. I found out later that they do have hairdryers in each room, but mine just didn’t have one.
They have a pool, fitness center, computers downstairs, and a fire pit outside. The employee on night shift gave us the keys to the fire pit because it was past 10pm. We said we needed it for a meeting, which technically we did. He said he just couldn’t be the one to turn it on because of hotel policy. So after we tried getting it to start for a good 20 minutes, we go back inside and the employee mentioned that it hadn’t been working the past few days.
Overall, the place was clean and comfortable. Thankfully I didn’t have to pay for it. I would stay again but not on my own dime.

Well this place was a surprise for sure. Mr A booked this room for me prior to me viewing the hotel online myself. When we arrived I immediately start strangling him because the outside looks dreadful, quite motelish. Upon entering the hotel, I was amazed how modern it is on the inside, our suite was superb. The hotel is clean, and all staff is pleasant. You can find great things in small packages. Order the red wine, hell, get two glasses, it delish.

Great hotel, well-​known company. We had high expectations since it’s a higher-​end chain of mid-​priced hotels.
Customer service was sub-​zero. Gentleman at front desk was either in a bad mood or just didn’t care. We checked in at 9:30pm. He wanted to get us checked in as fast as possible, even though there was no one else in the lobby waiting to be serviced. He didn’t seem to care to answer any of our questions and when I wouldn’t leave until he at least answered my questions, he still dismissed us as if we weren’t even there. There was another employee (possibly a manager?) nearby who was just chatting away on her cellphone on a VERY PERSONAL conversation and not even paying attention what was happening at the front desk. After checking in, I was waiting for my husband to gather our bags from the car. I saw the female employee come over to the male employee and ask for a massage to her arm/​hand since it had fallen asleep while she was chatting away on her cellphone.
When we went to our room, there was hair all over the bathtub/​shower area and the desk by the TV had grease stains (from food) all over it. It appears that housekeeping did a rush job cleaning the room, if it was cleaned at all.
Later in the evening, we could smell marijuana inside our room but we couldn’t figure out where the smell was coming from. We didn’t call downstairs because we felt like our concerns would not be heard based on the horrible customer service we had received earlier.
I spoke with the lady at the front desk the next morning to express our concerns. Too many cons and not enough pros — we will not be staying at this hotel again.

Really clean, great service for our first time visit during Christmas. Kids are also love it and sleep well in their double beds in queen size.

I rate this hotel 4 stars but that does not mean it’s an actual four star hotel. It is a standard 3 star hotel. When I read the reviews after I booked this hotel, I almost cancelled my reservation. I am glad I did not. The location was perfect. Everything was about 20mins away in every direction. Wanting to explore different parts of Dallas and surrounding areas this place was very convenient. If you wanted to get something quick to eat or needed to fill up your tank, it was all around you. There was a ton of fast food restaurants and a gas station one parking lot over. Freeway access was right there as well. I travel a lot so when a hotel offers free parking that is a plus. The area did not seem shady or run down. I did not see any sketchy people walking around (prostitutes, drug dealers, gang members, etc). It seems to be an older area. The customer service was great at the hotel and anytime I called the front desk they answered the phone. Maid service was great. I only two negative remarks. The elevator is scary, it sounds like it is going to break at any given time. Sometimes the door would take awhile to open once it got to the 3^rd floor. One night I opened the door on the balcony and a bunch of little black gnats flew in. Overall this was a nice clean place with great customer service. If your looking for a place close to the airport, you have rented a car, and plan to go to various places like Addison and downtown Dallas this is a nice place to stay. If you want a more fancy experience and plan not to rent a car, stay in downtown Dallas.

Excellent clean hotel. We had a easy hassle free check in after biking online. The room has great accommodations. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great stay fair price and clean hotel. Also a big plus is the room temperature was set comfortably cool when we arrived.

DO NOT stay at this hotel… room 108 smells like mold, ants in the bedroom and these uninvited guests in the bathroom… and they are a sponsor hotel for Superbowl 50??? Courtyard by Marriott on Forrest Ln, Dallas, TX

OK hotel esp for the price. I stay here a couple times a year, and have done so for 10+ yrs. It’s cheap — usually less than $ 100/​night. One of the cheapest Marriott properties in the city.
— basic type Courtyard. Older building. Was getting pretty tired/​worn but has gone through an upgrade.
— staff pleasant.
— meh neighborhood. Can look kind of creepy at night but I’ve never had anything happen to me or my car.
— Starbucks, convenience store, movie theater nearby.
— because it’s cheap, the guests are an interesting cast of characters. Sometimes it’s squads of high school sports team kids and their handlers, other times it’s families with lots of kids.
— plentiful parking.
— easy freeway access. Straight shot west along Forest if you want to get into core north Dallas.

Already loving the experience. The interior design is modern and clean, think ikea. But seems to be quality. It’s awesome. It feels really clean. The lobby was very nice and has a bar and bistro, not something you see in hotels in a similar price range. Staff is very friendly. I was expecting the standard hotel room feel but it felt like a much nicer room. Best part are the USB port/​charging stations all over the room. Nothing is more annoying than trying to locate an outlet and having to unplug the lamp or alarm clock. Not a problem in this place, I’ve found 4 different «hubs» for charging. It isn’t their fault that all the construction on the highway makes it a little difficult to get here, eventually (hopefully) the 635 will be completed and there won’t be a parking lot on the highway. Don’t fault the hotel for this, find an alternate route. If all Courtyards feel like this, I’ve found a new go to.

This Marriott Courtyard on Forest near Sam Moon Shopping Center is recently renovated with a fresh modern interior that is pleasing and functional. What appears as a business hotel is suitable for a relaxing weekend with a generous lounge. The stodgy music could be more on par with the cool décor, but that’s being picky with so much good about the place. All of the staff were courteous and helpful.

crappy part of town, crappy construction all around, crappy roads and a pretty run down hotel. So many better choices. I won’t stay here again. The room and value is not bad but if given a choice, I’ll choose a better place.

We’re Marriott people. This summer has taken us from Boston to Dallas and places in between. About 85% of the time we stay at a Marriott. We’ve seen the good and the bad. This Courtyard is filed under the good.
Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite, which was great as we have 2 kids traveling with us, and paperwork to do after they go to bed at night.
The room was fairly clean, there were a few spots on the sofa and marks on the bathroom wall, but nothing major. The outside patio was nice to have, but it should be hosed down from time to time. The drain for the balcony area (I’m assuming air conditioner condensation) above us drained into a corner of our patio since we were on the first floor, that was annoying to listen to the drip and have a corner that was useless. And the path that led out to the courtyard and to the pool had a large tree that we had to duck under (and I’m not that tall!) to get out of our area. The path should be rerouted or the tree trimmed.
The thing that put this location over the top was the customer service. We twice had to extend our stay and we didn’t have to change rooms and kept the same price.
Breakfast with Nikki was great. She engaged the kids and refilled our juice with a big smile and a very friendly attitude. She informed us that she is being trained on front desk which is a very smart thing for this location to do. Seeing her smiling face upon check-​in is a great way to start your stay! Michael, the front office manager was also great. His cookies in the evening were baked to perfection, and he even gave us extra after I admitted I made the kids share theirs with me!
The outdoor pool area was nice, the chair covers could use updating, though the fact that they had chair covers at all was nice.
Overall a very nice stay and we will definitely be returning upon our next stay in Dallas.

The hotel was nice, clean and safe. But the shining star was the front desk manager, Charlotte. She was a delight.

Even though we paid for a room for 3 people they tried to limit our complimentary breakfast to 2 people; Stating that we would have to pay $ 10.95 for the third person.
Ridiculous.
After the front desk attendant and manager refused to change this made up rule, we called
to complain; this was where we originally booked the room.
said that we would get 3 breakfasts and would address it with the hotel and that we should be receiving 3 breakfasts.
All in all, how much does an extra dry piece of toast, orange juice from concentrate, and powdered eggs really cost? Instead on focusing on making a good impression on an out of town guest, they want to be sticklers over a breakfast that is already offered to a other guests staying there. We just happened to be 3, which we didn’t try to hide and indicated as we checked in and what we payed for after we reserved it.
Dumb.
There are plenty of other options as far as hotels go. No need to come back to a place that doesn’t really care about the level of customer service they offer. I’m better appreciated elsewhere.
Oh, and they stocked our bathroom with 2 conditioners and no shampoo for 2 days in a row, whats up with that?

This is one of the friendly hotels you will ever stay at. Everyone is so great. We stay there on a regular bases when in Dallas. The manager Alfredo is so awesome and is always very nice. The rooms are clean and spacious. You can’t pass the hotel up if you are in this area. We stay every time.

Nice room for the rates. Walls are a little thin, could hear everything in the next room including flushing toilets, shower, talking, etc. But overall good service, clean room, great price.

Amazing customer service! We stayed for 11 days and Caroline and her staff made our stay very enjoyable! Caroline, Nancy and Alfredo very helpful with all of our business shipments as well as our personal shipments. Not only was Caroline extremely accommodating and helpful, she was also very pleasant and professional.
The hotel itself is the usual Courtyard… great outdoor Courtyard, nice lobby, fitness center, laundry and pool. I loved having a room with a balcony as well. Overall, it’s a great place to stay. We actually came back for 5 more nights! If business brings me back to Dallas, this Courtyard is definitely where I will be! It’s staff/​hotels like these that keep me loyal to the Marriott family! :)

Ok hotel. Reasonable rates. Not much to do in the area, somewhat shady neighborhood. Clean rooms. Very close to the AT&T Webb Chapel datacenter. For breakfast/​lunch there’s a Cindi’s NY Deli just up the road that’s awesome.

Easily the most comfortable bed that I have slept on at a hotel. The rooms are very clean and come with HD TV. The interior decorating is certainly unique with the blue carpet and flamboyant colors, but nothing that will make you feel uncomfortable.
My only complaint was the ridiculously overpriced breakfast in the morning.

Incredibly respectful staff, spacious rooms, environmentally friendly. Has a home like setting. I loved everything about this hotel. I for sure love the spa and pool. I go here every time I get a chance to just to get away from everything. What makes this place more awesome is that my Mom works there.

I shall begin my review by saying I am a through and through Hilton guy, but this was closer and cheaper — so it goes.
I swear I’ve stayed at this place multiple times in the past, seemingly every time I use DFW. And usually it is for a painful experience — a 100 hour work week, a flight from Dallas to Chicago that becomes Dallas to Charlotte to St. Louis to Chicago when the weather turns — you get the idea. Not pleasant memories. Anyway — I thought this was going to be the same place, but upon arriving, I think it’s a different, but cookie cutter hotel.
Staff is nice, rooms are fine. The place is a tiny bit old feeling, but I think all Courtyards feel that way at this point. The beds are standard for Marriott — terrible. I usually have really bad back pain when I use these guys, one of many reasons why I prefer the Hilton and whatever beds they use. Breakfast is nice, but expensive — $ 10 per guest is pretty pricey if you ask me, when a similar spread is free at lots of places. And no wireless, just wired Internet. Not a huge deal, but it sure would be nice. I was only there one night, and even then, barely used it, but if it was a longer stay, it might annoy me.
So — just standard. Kind of ho-​hum. I came… I slept… I left.
