Great dive/neighborhood bar in the Lakewood/East Dallas area. Patio furniture and cushy couches all around. I love the frito pie. There’s nothing special about it but it is exactly what the doc ordered when you want a cheap eat. Great drink selections. Old style juke box. I love riding my bike from my house to this bar. Can’t go wrong.

Drinks poured just like I like them, not weak. Pizza is amazing and half priced on Sunday. Cool atmosphere and interesting lighting, comfortable lounge seating.

Okay, came in expecting to like this place, but the female bartender is just plain rude. Hat to get a drink here when it gets busy. Very mixed crowd which is good. Good juke box. My first cocktail was great, but disappointed with the service. How hard is it to smile and be courteous? May try and come back, but as a paying customer I expect some courtesy.

Went here on a Monday night and had a couple STRONG drinks! I also had a bahn mi sandwich that was awesome! And it was only $ 6! Can’t believe I’m just finding this place. The atmosphere was fun and friendly too! I’ll definitely be back.

By far the best dive bar in Dallas, Texas!!! Not only is the staff so incredibly welcoming and friendly, but they make phenomenal cocktails! They have an awesome music selection on the jukebox and always have fun movies playing. Having drinks on the oversized sofa by the fireplace is always a hit with my friends. The back patio is small yet cozy with a fire pit. It always has a diverse, fun crowd throughout. Highly recommend this bar!!! WARNING: the pizza is addicting!

*** UPDATE*** Wow. It’s interesting that when you give an honest opinion about a horrible experience you have at an establishment, that the managers /owners then BAN people you know from the place as retaliation. Direct quote«If he takes down that bad review you came come back in»…how professional. Just goes to show you that the people who run this place don’t have a clue on how to run a business. Tick tock. It’s only a matter of time before Cosmos is just an afterthought. If I could give less than one star, I would. Embarrassingly slow service and horrible attitude from the bartender(an Asian guy named Jack or Jackson). He completely ignored us for a good 10 minutes(he was NOT busy) and it got to the point that I had to move around the bar to where he was standing(and not moving) to get his attention. He was way to busy chatting with other people he obviously knew. He was to busy goofing off with who I would assume where friends to do his job and take care of customers at the bar. When he finally did take our order it was like we where a complete inconvenience to his personal social hour. As a first time(and now only time) customer, I was totally offended. I worked restaurants /bars for years and could not believe the way I was treated. I would have loved to make this place a new local hang out for me, but his crap service, and piss poor attitude will make me never step foot into this place again. To the manager /owner — you really should reconsider this guy representing your business. You’re most likely losing a significant amount of money, and new business, because of his horrible attitude, complete lack of customer service, and unprofessionalism.

Love this place. Great food, great servers, and great drinks at a reasonable price. Ask about anything special getting whipped up in the kitchen.

I’m from out of town so my beautiful friend took me here for a Dos Equis & I loved it! The Halloween decorations were spot on & it was a gorgeous night for the patio. A very small, intimate spot with great ambiance, comfy seating & cute bartenders. Love the fact that there is a VCR here! 80s movies rock. Hope to visit again soon.

First time was awesome. Loved the dive bar nostalgia feeling with wall of VCR’s for you to pick out and play. Pizza was really good. 2nd time we went, way different crowd and vibe. My hubs and I think someone slipped us something. We had 3 drinks over the course of a few hours and we woke up the next day around 4pm feeling out of it and hazy. Haven’t been back.

I love this bar. It’s got a cool 70s vibe, they always play awesome movies with closed captioning so that you can casually follow along while enjoying your drinks, they have the best pizza, a bitchin’ jukebox selection, super cool and comfortable chairs, and a very warm energy. They keep it dark in there, which gives it that cool dive vibe. One of the best bars in Dallas.

Cosmos is what I dig about a ‘dive’…funky, good people, good drinks and a great vibe. Sit at the bar to mingle with the regulars, or hang in one the several sets of retro table/chairs or couches. This place sets the bar for cool. And don’t forget to try one of their well-known pizzas!

Nice cozy place. I loved the old school movies they show, but the last time I went they charge 10 bucks for a vodka/redbull. Go on Sundays though their pizza is phenomenal and half off.

F*** this bar. I live across the street and came here often. Then, they miscalculated my bill and refused to accept responsibility. The next time I went they screwed up my girlfriend’s drink. Finally, last time the hag faced old crone of a bartender couldn’t be bothered to recommend a drink to me. She said she«worked here one night a week» and didn’t know. She didn’t say this in a joking or cute way. There were four other people in the whole bar and she was too lazy to make an effort, much less a decent drink. News flash — you suck at life and deserve to be fired. This place has earned a special place in bar hell. May it be tormented by the Dark Lord’s pitchforks for an eternity and fail like so many other crappy bars.

This place… Is terrible… Truly… I haven’t reviewed until now because I wanted to give it 3 chances and be fair… 1st visit: I was charged $ 40 for 2 house drinks with well liquor 2nd visit: They couldn’t make the house drinks THATTHEYADVERTISEDONTHEIRTINYHOUSEDRINKMENU… Seriously… There are 4 drinks on that list. Use your brains. Please. 3rd visit aka FINALSTRAW: Went In on a Tuesday and asked the wrinkle-clad biddie that worked there her opinion on a HOUSEDRINKTHEYADVERTISED and her response was: «I only work here one night a week. I know nothing about them.» Thanks, Hussy, for being so «accommodating»… Probably would have cost $ 20 anyway… Bye cosmos!!! And you suck. Also… I think it’s worth noting that quite a large number of the 5 star reviews are from 2009 and 2010… Things have really gone down hill.

Trailed all the way East Dallas from N. Plano in this cold winter night just to check out this place. Unilocalers gave it good ratings and review. It’s a dark, cozy and very mysterious place right at the corner of Skillman and Live Oak. All I’m saying is I love this place even though it’s my first time coming here. I love the warm feeling inside with the couches and fireplace. It reminds me of bars in Miwaukee when I used to visit. I would definitely comeback to try the frito pie and good old pizza.

I came here for Valentine’s in 2014. The energy in this bar was like nothing I’d experienced before or have again. I honestly can’t say if it was the bar or the particular mood and group of people. I had a great time. They’ll put a DVD on for you and you can sit by the fireplace. I will never forget my time at Cosmo’s. I still keep in touch with a guy I met there. ;)

This place rocks! Great martinis, cool, retro, dive bar with a jukebox and a payphone. You must eat any of the pizzas and the grill cheese sandwich! The bartenders were great and the pour was on point. There’s a Santa you can pose with and the place can be a bit crowded due to space. The VHS library is amazing.

One of my favorite local dives. Great selection of food and drinks, cozy atmosphere and one of the best jukeboxes in town! Jackson and Brad always welcome me by name and are quick to offer food and drink, Drinks are strong. I love the indoor fireplace! And the VHS collection. You never know what you will see at Cosmo’s!

Well if Cosmo’s isn’t a sight for sore eyes… I know they are trying for a divey vibe, but being that I live in a city where a dive bar means a far less inviting atmosphere(and often zero Unilocal reviews, just saying) and being that I have lived in a city where a true dive bar was often a private slightly scary«club,» and *certainly no place I’d ever eat,* I’d rather put Cosmo’s in the«neighborhood bar» category, OK? I mean that in a good way, friends. There’s great things going on in here: *dark with ultra cooooool lighting *cozy *comfortable places to sit *cheapy cheap prices I like to pretend that it’s a 70s *swanky lounge* that has seen better days. Like if the Regal Beagle(Google it, whippersnappers) had been left to ruin. Even if the staff and patrons themselves weren’t even a glimmer their mama’s eye in the 70s, I like to pretend. Cosmo’s just lends itself so well to my imaginings. I see another reviewer made a Sonny & Cher reference. Yes, that! More greatness: they serve food into the Midnight hour(or whenever they decide to stop). My group arrived hungry well after many places had already stopped serving, so that veggie pizza was kind of a lifesaver last week. And the bartenders are really nice. Although I was kind of laughed at for asking what wines they had, my glass of red something wasn’t bad enough that I didn’t order a second glass. I love Cosmo’s! Although I’ve only been once, I’m declaring it my Dallas home-away-from-home.

This is an awesome, casual spot for strong drinks, cheesy pizza, and a dark, cozy environment that encourages you to lounge for hours. I love the red lights, the comfy booths, the dingy couches, and the mismatched furniture. It’s definitely divey in here! They play fun old movies and great music, and it really feels like what a neighborhood bar ought to be. There’s nothing too special on the drink menu as far as wine and beer goes, but it looks like Cosmo’s whips up some great cocktails for a great price. Hungry? Cosmo’s has you covered with pizza and sandwiches. Not exactly gluten-free friendly, but I wouldn’t expect that here. We were starving when we showed up, so I opted for a Caesar salad sans croutons. Even though it was served in a paper bowl with a plastic fork, I gotta say, it was a pretty good salad. I don’t know if they just dump some dressing out of a bottle or make their own, but either way, it was just right and I ate it all! Plus, I kinda like the whole plastic silverware and paper plates. Super low-key! I love a relaxed bar with solid drinks and friendly, casual service — Cosmo’s is a keeper.

Cosmos… what can you say about this place that hasn’t already been said. Oh hell. I’ll just say it and if I repeat some else’s thoughts then oh well! Cosmos is dark, cozy and friendly. I’m sure I’ve met you there before, but because it was late, dark or the side effects of the retro juice. I don’t remember you. If it seemed like I was disinterested in your conversation, it was because I was watching a classic VHS movie on the tv in the corner. It was probably Serpico, Rocky, Star Wars, or maybe Back 2 the Future. And if I seemed a bit sleepy it was because Sunday is ½ price pizza night and I just stuffed myself. Maybe you saw me singing out of tune, it’s because someone played a song from my high school prom on the juke box! And last but not least, if you left because you didn’t see me sitting on a cozy sofa, it’s because I was standing around the fire pit on the patio. Yes.yes.yes. And yes all of this can happen on your next visit to Cosmos. It’s that much fun and it’s where the cool kids play! Yeah Cosmos is one of those great dive bars and no matter what, you can’t change that.

WTF with this new tax on booze? I know, it’s not Cosmo’s fault. They are just complying with the new rules. Your $ 4 drink just became $ 4.35, so bring change or use a card so you aren’t stiffing the staff by that tax amount on your tip. I don’t go to Cosmo’s all that much because I forget that it exists given that me getting over there requires either a car or a very long bus/walk adventure. The interior is just so cozy and snuggly in the winter! There are tons of tables and comfortable chairs where small groups can chat without being part of the bar stool scene. Drinks, though now taxed, are still cheap, and the folks who work at Cosmo’s are very friendly. There is a relatively large parking lot in front, but the bar doesn’t have a big illuminated sign(but does have a string of red bulbs above the entry way), so you have to just sort of know where it is — across from Lakewood Liquors, kitty corner to the ice cave. They also have a patio out back, which has a nice natural gas fire pit and a few sets of tables and chairs, but bring a blanket to sit on since the metal chairs and fire pit surround do not warm up on their own!

My one visit to Cosmo’s 4 years ago was marred by heavy tobacco fumes before the Dallas smoking ban. A few years later, the clouds are clear and Cosmos luster was full on: a dark carpeted lounge with cheesy red lit 70’s white globe shades a la the Sonny and Cher Show, neat vinyl padded swivel chairs via the Regal Begal, kooky late 70’s early 80’s movie posters posed a stage for mystery, psychedelia and more. The crowd jetted from preppy football hunky to weird loner to mysterious chick with a bob in a high thigh skirt. Drinks were cheap and so was the quirky cafeteria bar food. Cosmos — I hug you. Pizza. Looked like there was a VCR movie station but that might have been a drunken hopeful delusion.
