Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie

This place is a cute little pâtisserie tucked behind the Lorna Jane store and the 3700M sign in West Village. The macaroons are delicious and have the proper, beautiful texture that’s difficult to achieve (crisp, shiny outside and chewy inside). They offer some creative flavors, like peanut butter and jelly, in addition to traditional ones, as well. They are a little bit expensive, though ($ 25 for a dozen). I’ve tried their croissants, as well, and I found it to be pretty standard– not bad, but nothing to write home about. Definitely a great place to get gifts or a centerpiece/​dessert for a nice event also!

Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie is a cute shop that focuses on macrons. It is located in Uptown, the shop is small so you can come in and order and enjoy your macrons in their outside seating. They have plenty of macaroons flavors from Vanilla, Chocolate, Hazelnut, Lemon, Raspberry, Salted Caramel, Coffee, Pistachio, Tiramisu, PB&J, Toasted Coconut, and red velvet. My favorites are the PB & J and red velvet. Pricing for the macaroons are average. (12 for $ 25, 6 for $ 13 or individual macrons for $ 2.25)

The macaroons were great (salted caramel was a smidge better than birthday cake). Coffee was drip, so not to die for. Would definitely try their espressos next time. Only down side was they don’t have any seating to sit and savor, so you have no choices but to window shop around West Village while drinking your coffee. Oh darn.

This place is adorable! They have the BEST macaroons, too. Everyone who works here is so sweet, it’s worth dropping by at least once to check it out.

Come here to get your macaron fix! I went in for their 1 Year Anniversary on 2÷3÷2016 and the pastry chef was out among the customers while her warm employees handed out free macarons, coffee, and champagne. A wonderful way to reach out to the Uptown community! Their display featured some beautiful meringue treats and flaky pastries for when you want to spoil yourself; their box of 6 macarons is perfect to split among friends or your partner for an evening. Re: the actual macarons, they can have multiple fillings in one (cream and jam), multiple textures on the shell (birthday sprinkles, coconut shavings), but every one will melt in your mouth just the same. They do a good job of representing classical french faire but I’d love to see some more pungent flavors and quirky combinations in the future. A great end to a day in West Village.

bisous bisous looked so cute and had several macaron flavors that my boyfriend and i decided to get a dozen for $ 25 (six for $ 13). we tried the tahitian vanilla, salted caramel, pistachio, PB&J, hazelnut, toasted coconut, eggnog, tiramisu, and gingerbread. two words: super sweet. all of the macarons seemed fun (particularly PB&J), but they were all so sweet that the sugar masked whatever flavor the macaron had/​was supposed to be. we were disappointed given the price and quality, but the interior is definitely super cute (but very little seating). they also have various merchandise for sale (to-​go mugs, etc.).

This is the nicest bakery I’ve ever been to. They have a plethora of macaroons to choose from and the employees are sweet and helpful.

While strolling through West Village with my sister, we stopped here for a croissant, cake, and tea.
The tea was standard, but the croissant was amazing! It was just a simple butter croissant, but the outside was perfectly crispy and the inside was soft, light, and fluffy. This was definitely of the best croissants I’ve had in the area.
My sister had one of their personal sized cakes. I can’t remember the name (see picture), but it was vanilla cake covered with a marshmallow like outside that was beautifully toasted. While the decoration and presentation was wonderful, the taste was lacking. The cake was dry and wasn’t very flavorful.
The biggest downside is that there is no indoor seating. There are a few chairs and tables outside, but it’s not a place you’d come to meet a friend.
I’ll have to come back again sometime to try their macarons!

Ehhhh mediocre macaroons and the worker was snotty and highly disinterested… the macaroons were a little chewy for our preference. The coconut macaroon was the best & had a delicious filling. We don’t have any interest in returning.

Only got 2 macarons: egg nog & chocolate mint and both were very good. It had the right texture and flavors and didn’t leave an after taste.

Stopped in around 11am. It was dead and everyone was on their phone when we walked inside. Maybe I haven’t had the best experience with people in Dallas, but again the cashier had a little bit of an attitude.
I had the Pistachio & salted Carmel macaroon. Salted Carmel is recommended to people who haven’t had macaroons before. The filling was not a good tasting Carmel so I threw it away after a bite. However The pistachio one was fantastic. Tastes like an almond biscotti! I also had an iced latte. Mediocre. Don’t see the big hype, but I’m glad I tried it.

This place is 5 stars if you know what to get. Personally I think their croissants are straight out of a French bakery. Flaky, buttery, and delicious. The almond croissants and chocolate almond croissants are my go to morning treats.
Occasionally I’ll get a pan de chocolate– I think that’s what it’s called. Flaky, just a few bites of chocolate-​just like France, and delicious. The macaroons are perfect little bites of deliciousness, my favorite are coconut and tiramisu.
I’ve only had a seasonal éclair once and I would rather go for a croissant. I live walking distance of this place so I’m in there quite regularly. Definitely stop by and eat up!

The macarons here are pretty pricey… A dozen for $ 25. But they are delicious. I ordered 2 dozen for myself and friends to try. The flavors ordered were raspberry, coconut, lemon, pb&j, pumpkin spice, pistachio, I believe that’s it… My favorite was raspberry. Pumpkin spice was seasonal and that wasn’t so good. I def prefer the fruit flavor macarons.
So far in the dfw I like the macarons from here and Mozart Bakery in Carrollton.
They also offer other desserts like eclairs and parfaits!

The best macaroons I’ve ever had. The salted caramel, coffee, and tiramisu were amazing. They also have a great almond chocolate croissant which they heat if you ask them. Overall it’s a very cute place with unique deserts.

Was surprised to see a little Patisserie nestled in the West Village so I had to stop in for some macarons. These were by far the best macarons I have ever had. I would recommend them all, but my favorites were the lemon, salted caramel and tiramisu.

Everything that I have tried at bisous bisous has been outstanding! All of the croissants are super flakey, crunchy and moist all in one. These are by far the best macaroons I have ever had in my life, now I must try all of them!

Oui, Oui, Oui! This place is fantastic! If you’re taking a stroll in West Village or want to take some macaroons as a gift for a friend this is the place! The chocolate éclair is off the chain! When I usually get eclairs the inside is more like pudding but Bisous really has the right recipe for the filling.
Just a heads up, there is no seating inside and there are only a couple chair outside. I guess this place is more like a grab and go place l.
The only criticism I have is the employees can be a little bit more amicable. When I called the bakery to inquire about their products the employees were very dry and I also discovered this upon arrival. Just som enthusiasm goes a long way.

My oh my this place is fantastic. Without a doubt the best macaroons I have had. They have a ton of varieties. I had a pb & j and my husband had a coconut that were both devine.
I also had a toasted raspberry cake that was very good. This place has a ton of varieties of cakes, pastries and obviously macaroons. I also love the coffee, espresso etc.
It was perfect after brunch at PS.

Better than what I expected.
I was in the éclair phase and managed to find this cute bakery through Google.
I thought they would only have the basic eclairs (chocolate, vanilla), but they have about 4 – 5 different choices. The workers also told me that they switch out the flavors throughout the seasons.
I got the coffee, vanilla, strawberry and figs & honey eclairs. Super pretty and yummy.

I’d love to write a more in depth review for Bisous Bisous but I am currently crying because I left 4 of the 6 macarons I purchased at my sister’s house in Dallas.
We stopped in on a rainy Saturday to get some macarons. This place was on my list of spots to hit up while in Dallas for the weekend so we weren’t going to let the rain keep us away.
It was a little bit hard to find because it is tucked back in a driveway area off McKinney. The shop is tiny but very beautifully decorated and full of delectable goodies in the bakery case.
I chose a 6 macaron box and carefully picked out my flavors. Immediately after leaving I tried the vanilla and the coconut and they were amazing, truly good authentic macarons. Now comes the sad part… I stayed at my sister’s house that night and left my macarons in her fridge when I returned to Austin the next day. I never did get to try the other 4 flavors, but I am considering them my payment to my sister for letting my stay at her house.
The reason I am removing one star is for the price– $ 13 for a box of 6 macarons is steep!

I really regret walking into this place. This is not going to be good for my pre-​wedding pseudo-​diet. I walked in on a morning before work and grabbed an almond croissant and a madeline.
Oh man, the almond croissant is out of this world delicious. I’m comparing this to the village baking company’s almond croissant, which was my favorite in Dallas, and this one blew village’s croissant out of the water. First, the croissant is buttery, flaky, and not too sweet. Second, the thick almond filling is to die for. Some almond fillings can be too sweet and taste old or weird. This one is unbelievably perfect. The croissant itself has a nice weight to it, I could not finish even half of it even though I wanted to shove the whole thing in my face. It would pair perfectly with a cappuccino (which I didn’t get). I would say get it to split it with another person. The Madeline was good, just sweet and buttery enough to be a light pick me up.
Maybe I’ll go walk the entire Katy Trail after work to try to work off this croissant. Or maybe come back for a macaron…

So I had one of those days folks. You know, you hop off the plane at DFW early Sunday morning and while driving home thinking back on the sins of the weekend you quietly decide with shame in your heart that the redemption diet will start tomorrow instead of this afternoon. The result? Going to Bisous Bisous, ordering six french macarons and eating them all yourself on the drive home. We’ve all been there. … no? just me? Fine, take your judgemental gaze elsewhere.
For a bit of background I don’t typically care for dessert items all that much, but french macarons are the exception. The best I ever had were at a small French bakery in Morocco of all places (no Unilocal page obviously), but I’ve frequently Ladurée both in New York and Paris, and my NYC review can be found here:
In summary, Bisous Bisous dishes up some good traditional macarons, but they’re not the best I’ve ever had.
Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere?
While I won’t say I’m surprised considering BBP is in West Village, they really do crush it with the service and atmosphere. The location is fantastic and the décor classy and contemporary. An added bonus was overhearing upon walking in that a very satisfied macaron cake customer was gushing to the baker behind the counter about how pleased she was with the final product. Always great to here. For me, service was fast, friendly, and my boxed good would have made a great gift if I hadn’t gobbled them all down myself. Star Granted.
Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?
Macarons are complicated treats that you can’t just find anywhere, so I expect to pay a premium especially considering they’re boxed and bagged. Bisous Bisous charged me $ 13 for six macarons, which mathed out to be $ 2.17 per macaron. That’s fair considering Ladurée in NYC charges $ 2.69 per macaron, and I was pleased to see that other cookies and treats were reasonably priced. Star Granted.
Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?
Where my macarons good? They were, but there was a surprising amount of inconsistency between my six macarons with regard to flavor and texture. Let’s break them down —
PB&J: This was probably the weakest of the six macarons that I got, with flavors that, while unique, were a bit weak and a texture that just okay. I’ll take a second here to say that my ideal macaron has an airy and extremely delicate outside with a smooth but chewy and dense inside that dishes out a good deal of the flavor.
Tiramisu: The trend was on the rise, and my tiramisu macron was better with respect to both texture and flavor. We still weren’t to the degree of best ever in either category, but things were looking up.
Tahitian Vanilla: Gah, a little hiccup. My vanilla macron was, plain and simple, pretty hard, and the flavor a bit weak (I think there may be some correlation between the two no?
Chocolate: Bingo. Yahtzee. Opa. This was it. The chocolate macaron was perfection, with a silky smooth and fluffy pair of biscuits sandwiching a creamy chocolatey center that was bursting with flavor. This was truly marvelous, and was right on par with the best macarons that I’ve ever had.
Salted Caramel: I’m big on caramel macarons, so I ordered two of the salted caramel. Both delivered in the flavor category with a fantastic combination of caramel cream and a slightly salty interior that came together nicely. Texture wise they were both a smidgen below chocolate but better than vanilla and PB&J.
All in all, the inconsistency surprised me a bit. I understand that macarons and both delicate, complex, and extremely difficult to store in a way where they maintain their qualities to the degree that they were freshly made, but had all six of my macarons been on par with my chocolate one this would have been an easy double set of stars. They weren’t, so we’ll stick with one.
Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?
The macarons at Bisous Bisous Pãtisserie are good, but they’re not what I’d call elite. They’re certainly on par with Ladurée, which is a resounding compliment considering we’re out here in Dallas, but I gave Ladurée three stars for being A-​OK, and it’s a trend I’ll stick with here at BBP. You should without question pay a visit, and I have to imagine that this is an absolute gold mine for gifts and events. Rightfully so. No Star Granted.

A charming French pastel candy store
set up even alluded to the occasional dismal uptown nihilistic nonchalance and glib diffidence, surrounded by its big box garage and mall structure and a stiff pretty clerk who failed to respond to any of my quips and banter.
«Is there a reason why it smells like dog biscuits in here?» As I sniffed but edited my remark, because it really held the strong odor of a dirty dog kennel.
«We do make dog biscuits.» She said short, unsmiling and with a tight sense of offense.
They must share a wall with a pet groomers in the facility, I thought.
The sparkling candy of a macaroon tree tower spanning the rainbow in bright hues
and a small pastry case offered the big delight it visually cued. The almond financier was tender moist cake with a gentle taste of marzipan, lovingly 2 bite size for $ 1.50.
The robins egg macaroon, bright blue as the name suggests, is filled with chocolate hazelnut, and the raspberry flavor, so tender and juicy punched was probably one of the best I ever had.

We enjoyed our vanilla éclair and passion fruit tart very much! They weren’t overly sweet which is usually the main complaint. Whipped cream was light, airy, and fresh.
Macarons are chilled so you should allow them enough time to reach room temp. The salted caramel was delicious! Like other reviews said, these were more chewy than crunchy.
Kind of hard to find but if you use google maps it’ll help some.

This place looks and tastes like NY and Paris chic! It definitely adds the urban city vibe to the experience. I ordered six different flavors of macarons and an almond croissant paired with a cup of latte. The combination of eating and drinking both are dangerously hooked to becoming an addict of Bisous Bisous Patisserie:-) The macaroons had the right amount of sweet ingredient to it; not overly sweet since I typically don’t eat much of American desserts, as most of them have way too much sugar.
I really like this place and am glad we have a Paris pastry chef serving the Uptown community!
