Best Western Dallas Hotel and Conference Center

Okay room. Overcharged me due to the confusion. But i contacted my agency and the hotel refunded the difference.

— Clean rooms
— Clean and upscale, not necessarily posh (but hey this isn’t the Ritz Carlton), but still very nice, lobby
— Helpful front desk staff
— CVS, fast food, and freeways within couple blocks
— Surrounding neighborhood is office/​commercial, so at night it is quiet and safe, not a sketchy neighborhood at all (which is always a potential concern with hotels within city limits)
— Concierge matched and actually beat Hotwire pricing, and also was willing to provide a rollaway for additional capacity.
— Breakfast was good continental breakfast, dining area clean.

I had a great experience at this hotel. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and it was easy to get to the places I needed to be. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area.

Poorly run, poor service. One young lady was at the desk handling way too many tasks (she did her best). Management should hire an appropriate number of people to run the hotel. Little things that add up: no wake-​up call after I asked two people twice to double-​check and make sure I would get a wake-​up call. Shower did not work. Their box lunch in banquets was a terrible display of food. It wreaked of «nobody cares.» Bathroom way too small. So many Best Westerns are so beautiful and well run. This was very sad.

This hotel was overrun with several biker gangs. They were scary and loud. The bed was basically bare springs. I thought I saw a ghost. Turned out it was just a cloud of marijuana cigarette smoke from the aforementioned biker gang. Scary.

I reserved, and prepaid for, a room for two nights on Hotwire. When I arrived they said they had no record of my reservation. I showed them the confirmation from Hotwire complete with the hotel name, address, and confirmation number, but still nothing. The clerk acted as though I was really bothering him by taking him away from the texting he was doing when I arrived. After calling Hotwire, holding for over 30 minutes they faxed the hotel something to verify my reservation. Finally, almost an hour after I arrived, I completed the check in process. The clerk specifically acknowledged the fact that I was staying TWO NIGHTS.
When I got up to the floor my room was on, the entire floor reeked of cigarette smoke. The clerk had, without asking, assigned me a smoking room. I would have asked for a different room, but I was exhausted and I had just hauled my luggage to this room. The inside of the room itself did not smell of smoke, thank God, so I just decided to live with it.
The next day I left early and left the «do not disturb» on the door because I didn’t need the room cleaned since I was leaving the next morning. I was gone until about 2pm. When I had been back about 30 minutes, there was a knock on the door, «Housekeeping!» I yelled «I don’t need anything, thank you» through the door, because I was on a phone call. Five minutes later another knock, «Housekeeping!» again. I yelled «I don’t need anything!» There was a pause, then another knock, then the housekeeper says «Sir, I need to see you.» What? Seriously? I open the door. She says «Sir, this room is supposed to be empty, you are not supposed to be in here.» I am speechless, before I even think of a response, she says «You will need to go talk to the front desk.» I slowly start shaking my head in disbelief and say «OK, I will.» She leaves. I close the door and go back in the room to put my shoes on. Before I can even get my shoes tied, another knock at the door. «Sir?» It is a male voice this time. I go to the door and some sort of maintenance man is there and he says «Sir, you need to go to the front desk.» I am about to blow my top now. I say «I know. I am going to go in a minute.» and shut the door in his face. I finish putting on my shoes and go down to the front desk. The same clerk who checked me in the night before is there. He has no idea why I am there. I tell him what the housekeeper and her friend said. He looks at his computer and says, «Oh, If you want to stay another night it will be $ 75.00» I shoot lasers at him with my eyes and say «I paid for two nights, in advance, through Hotwire. We went over all this last night.» He looks confused. «Where is the fax they sent you last night?» I see a light bulb go on over his head and he says «Oh yeah… you’re fine… no problem» I sigh, shake my head, and go back to my room. The next morning, I check out and I ask them to print me a statement. They say they can’t since I paid through Hotwire, but I did not incur any charges. (I had to give them a credit card for «incidentals»)
Fast forward a week and a half later. A charge shows up on my Visa bill for $ 99.11 from «BEST WESTERN HTL&CONF». I am still trying to get it resolved. I have stayed at Best Western properties before, although not recently, but I always thought they were decent. This experience makes me SICK and I wish I had slept in the back seat of my rental car.

We came to Dallas for a wedding with a reception starting at 6:30. We arrived just before 2 PM, check-​in time, and we were told that the room wasn’t ready yet, and that housekeeping needed about 30 min to clean it. We said no problem and waited in the lobby.
After an hour I came back and asked about the room. They said it still wasn’t ready but that housekeeping was on it. Ok, no big deal, we can wait a little longer.
Finally, it’s 4 PM and we really need to shower and change. We ask about our room (another lady was already at the front desk in the same situation and not happy) and the lady at the front desk says sorry, nothing we can do. No offer for any compensation or anything.
When we said that this was sort of unreasonable and that we needed to get ready for the wedding we were met with hostility. I couldn’t believe it. Neither I nor the other lady raised our voice, insulted them or cussed at all. The lady told us to leave the front desk and I said I’d rather wait there. That’s when she got another employee, Gene Rios, who I can only assume is their «strong arm.» He actually came around the front desk, got within inches of my face, and basically said deal with it! I couldn’t believe it, I actually thought he might punch or push me.
The other guests in the lobby couldn’t believe it either and expressed their sympathies at how badly we were treated. I then said that I would look into other hotels to see if any had vacancies. Nearly all other hotels were booked, and later I found out that they had cancelled my reservation without me asking for that.
I write all this to say that it was easily the worst customer service experience of my life. Something really should be done about Gene Rios and the lady at the front desk (I wish I had gotten her name too). Find somewhere else to stay!

Very friendly staff, easy check in. Beautiful lobby and clean rooms. Cute, clean, outdoor pool. Extensive, delicious, hot breakfast.
We would stay here again and again. Definitely coming back if we’re ever in Dallas again!

First off I got here and it seemed like it was going to be an alright stay I paid for 4 days first day I went to get my complimentary breakfast wasn’t anything special but I asked could I take my food to my room they said a $ 7 and some change charge they have a shuttle that they say takes you around a 5 mile radius from the hotel I try and catch a ride they tell me it’s only to take people to and from the hospital that’s strike two false advertisement so be aware of that then the second day I see a roach in my room I tell the person at the front desk they act like its no big deal I hate roaches maybe they can deal with them but I can’t. Then I ask what were they going to do about it and they tell me they were going to send the maintenance person to the room to see if I they can verify it before I’m able to move to another room ain’t that about a B**** so I was able to switch rooms it’s so many I forgot how many strikes I’m on. Almost every person at the front desk are very rude they sound professional and helpful at first until you get your room paid for then I ask can I get a late check out and they tell me no unbelievable first of all I should’ve been compensated for more then just giving a different room roaches can get all in your clothes hair all kinds of different places I’m so hot you can fry an egg on my head just not rite or professional for a business at all.

Overnight stay 7÷31÷15
Checking in was slow. A trainee was checking me in, but her boss/​trainer was far more focused on getting her weekend started. The room was clean, nicely decorated. A bit warm but did cool down with AC on high fan and low temp setting. NO ice in ice machine AND NO response from front desk after notifying them that it was not working.
NEVER could get wifi to work, so I don’t agree that they have free wifi in the guest rooms. NO guide to the television channels they offer. Never could find HBO, even though there was a brochure showing what was playing.
Breakfast was not terrible. Plain bagels (regular & mini), several varieties of bread for toasting, mini muffins, butter & apple jelly, some grape jelly. No Danish, despite the sign. Scrambled eggs, sausage, roasted potatoes, biscuits, gravy, oatmeal for hot items. Coffee was out but refilled quickly once attendant was notified & he verified the lack for himself. Diced up anemic looking watermelon, juices of some sort or other.

HATES U.S. VETERANS!!! in a class with 70 veterans all staying at this hotel, we are told by the hotel owner we can not smoke or drink in areas where the rest of the population is allowed to. Cockroaches all over 1^st floor. We are told we are not allowed to use «do not disturb» signs so drug sniffing dogs are allowed to enter our rooms while we are at class. Wifi does not work. One students son even found a crack pipe in their room upon first check in. So if you would like to experience life as it is in a 3^rd world dictatorship or a prison i highly recommend this for your next vacation. Upside, most staff is very friendly, front desk and bartender are very kind to us all.

Horrible! Very unprofessional front desk. Made over all experience unenjoyable due to the attitude and lack of professionalism from front desk. Would not recommend!

The room was clean and comfortable. The check in was easy they did have to rekey
Has a nice bar with good food and a great happy hour
The service was slow I mean slow as in a beer takes 30 min
She was just overwhelmed Mary the bartender/​cocktail waitress /​busboy/​room service… You get the idea hire another person ya cheap bastards. It’s not fair to her or your customers.
Last but not least your breakfast was terrible
Nasty eggs old sausage and dried up pancakes I was there at 7:30
Stick to the Danish or cereal and toast

If there was a award for coolest lounge, this would win ! It has a water, light moving wall thing goin on .
They have a snack shop located in the lobby. Other amenities are :
Outdoor pool
Fitness center
Elevator and stairs
Located by lots of food places
Located across from CVS
Fridge
The décor is updated and very modern. It felt like staying at a super classy place .
I highly recommend this hotel.

I would rate in negatives, however, that is not an option. I tried to stay at several hotels 3÷24÷15 and because Market was going on, all were oversold. I got on Orbitz and found this one. It had good ratings on Orbitz so, I took it because I was too exhausted to drive back to Ft. Hood.
Immediately upon checking in with my reservation I was told no non-​smoking rooms were available. I was told that is not guaranteed on Orbitz as a special request. My health should NEVER be a special request, ever.
I got to my room and the key card did not work. I had to go downstairs and get re-​keyed. She wouldnt re-​key my room. She says she «thinks» the battery is dead and calls for maintenance to meet me at my room. I go back up and wait in the hallway. He shows up and sticks his key in and it works fine. I ask him «was it the battery?» He says «no»…so I ask «so, do I have to go get re-​keyed?» He says «yes»…then he ends up taking my key and getting it re-​keyed for me. Completely kind.
You have to put a ticket on your dash after you checkin for the parking lot… while I went down and did that I passed a man that had just checked in and a family that had just checked in. All were given non smoking rooms.
Upon entering my room it smelled like a dirty club and I knew my night would be really bad, basing that on the fact all my clothes were going to stink and I was going to breathe cigerettes all night and there was nothing I could do about that.
Then…I took down the sheets to my bed and it had pubic hair and long, really long hair in it. I called down and the front desk lady said she would send someone up. It was the maintenance man again. I showed him
all the hairs and he said he would get me new sheets. I said «so, is house keeping here?» He said «no.» I said «so, I get to make my own bed?» He once again acted with kindness… he said «I will make it» I told him I would not allow that, it was not his job.
I called down and asked for a refund, I was done with all the front desks shenanigans and just wanted to be somewhere clean. She told me I would not get a refund at all. I told her this was completely unsatisfactory to be placed in a dirty room and be stuck. She told me she could change my room. I asked «why now, you said no other room was available at all» she said to come down and she would have a key.
I went downstairs and she was checking yet another couple into a non smoking room now 1 ½ hours after I checked in. I had enough. I asked her why did you tell me not one other room was available and make me stay in a smoking room and this is now the 3^rd checkin I witnessed getting non smoking rooms. She looked at me smugly and said «it’s because you used Orbitz». I am a rewards member with Best Western and used Orbitz because every hotel in the area said oversold if you called or walked in. This hotel was my 5^th attempt. When I got on Orbitz I had a room. Plain and simple. I could not physically drive 2 and a ½ hours I was exhausted. She said I did not understand. I explained there was nothing to understand… she did not speak the truth. She told me moment one from arriving there were no more non smoking rooms left… she gave 3 rooms out in my presence after saying that. I had to go downstairs 3 times for help and service. I asked her point blank «It’s just me you won’t serve well, why??» She once again said «You used Orbitz»
I am stunned. This is somewhere no one should have to come to… there may be a reason like mine. If not, do not subject yourself or family to this.
I am now stuck here with no refund to leave and smell like a smoky lounge act and I am now in a different bed. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Thankfully it is also my last with any Best Western.

BWs are so hit or miss. This one is a miss. Looks nice but little things keep popping up that are not cool.

Don’t let the nice lobby and the cute carpeting fool you. This place is the definition of a hot ass MESS. My mom likes to stay here because they have good prices on priceline, but this will absolutely be our last stay. The location is good (right next to 635) and there are plenty of food places around, however that doesn’t make up for its shortfalls.
After you check in and walk by the cool water thingy in the lobby (its like a giant tank that changes colors and has bubbles), you get to the elevators. The elevators look like who, what, where, when and why. They smell like old burnt rubber and the paint is peeling off. There is usually some disgusting substance on the floor.
The rooms are hit or miss (usually miss). One time our room had bright red splatters on the lampshade and the ceiling. I convinced myself that it was just ketchup (Hint: It probably wasn’t).
The bathrooms are covered in different peoples hair. The bathtub isn’t suitable for a bath. And the towels are never completely white. They have faded stains on them.
Our current room takes the cake. There is a strong sewage smell coming from the shower, the toilet takes 3 – 4 flushes to completely flush, and the entire sink faucet comes off when you turn on the sink. And to top it all off, I just saw a roach scurrying behind the bathroom door. Lovely. When I called the front desk to complain, their only response was, «So…do you want us to come look for the roach?» Whatever happened to southern hospitality?
The only reason this hotel doesn’t only get one star is because it serves breakfast, but I hate the breakfast. Flavorless scrambled eggs, toast, lumpy oatmeal, breakfast potatoes, sausage, and cereal. Nothing fancy. I’d rather eat at ihop or something. The wi-​fi is also spotty.
Overall this place is not for extended stays. One night tops.
Never again.
Edited to add: So they came to look for the roach. Nice follow through, I guess. And they also brought a can of air freshener to cover up the raw sewage smell. So now our room can smell like manure mixed with this raspberry acai splash spray. Yay!

We were on a road trip and went from the Best Western Plus in Memphis to this one here in Dallas. The difference between the two was night and day. The Memphis Best Western was excellent! This one in Dallas was its polar opposite, a dump with a classy front desk. We walked into the main lobby impressed by its décor and thought we would get what we had in Memphis. We were shocked when we walked into the room.
Here’s what we found:
The room was so small there was no closet. The ironing board and iron hanged next to the door. We kept finding ants in the room. The tiny bathroom had a pedestal sink and no where to place your toiletries. The diverter on the tub spout when pulled up had a leak that shot up almost as much water as the shower.
I know Dallas is hot, and heat increases the algae that turns pools green. If I know that, so should the hotel managers.
This place was just a disappointing mess.

The facility looks kind of fancy at first glance, but on closer inspection everything — walls, elevator, furniture, carpet — just seemed kind of beat up and grungy. The staff was nice, but the room and bathroom were very small and the sink was free-​standing so there was no counter space. Breakfast was the usual fare, but the serving room was HUGE so it was easy to find a table.
The clientele at this hotel would be the reason I would avoid it in the future. There were some downright, scary, thuggy-​looking people here. I stayed here once and just thought it was a one-​time thing, but then I stayed here a second time and it was even worse. I would not stay here again and certainly would not recommend it for a woman traveling solo.

Wir waren für eine Nacht dort, hatten das Zimmer am Vortag reserviert, wir hatten eine Autofahrt von ca. 24 Stunden hinter uns und wollten einfach nur schlafen. Wir sind gegen Mittag dort eingetroffen und sehr unfreundlich empfangen, bei der Frage nach unserer Reservierung würde sich nicht mal die Mühe gemacht nachzuschauen, wir bekamen zur Antwort, es gibt keine Zimmer, wir sollen ab 14 Uhr nochmal kommen. Also mussten wir ca. 3 Sunden warten. Nicht gerade menschlich und wir hatten die Dame gebeten dich mal zu schauen ob dich was frei ist, da wir einen langen Weg hinter uns hatten, keine Reaktion. Außerdem ist das Hotel seht laut, man glaubt es hätte Wände aus Papier. Für eine Nacht zu empfehlen, aber bitte nicht länger.

Great location, decent rooms for the price but would not pay more than tbe $ 55/​night I got on Priceline.
The good: The lobby is nice and the rooms aren’t too bad. Fair prices at the convenience store by the front desk. The bed was a little firm but the pillows and sheets were comfortable. Nice LCD TV with HBO, microwave and refrigerator. Cheap rates, free parking and free breakfast.
The bad: Bathroom was outdated and I saw a few tiny spots of what I think is mold under the mirror, but it was pretty minor. Staff was hit or miss — most of the time we wouldn’t even get a smile as we walked in but the overnight guy was super nice.
The ugly: we checked in on Thursday at 4:00 and there was a used room service tray with leftovers in front of the door across from our room. It stayed there until at least Noon on Saturday. It was disgusting — there were ants crawling on it and we saw housekeeping walk past it for two days. That was totally unacceptable and after the first day we stopped eating the free breakfast because we didn’t trust the cleanliness of the hotel. That alone will probably keep me from coming back.
