The falafel is amazing!
Also the Baba ghanoush is delicious. They put pomegranate on the top and it’s just a touch of sweet with every bite.

Had been to Souk but not Baboush and friends had raved so we met them there last night and had a wonderful dinner. Everything we ate was delicious. The hummus and baba ganoush, salads and tangines. Service was delightful. Will definitely return again soon. Thanks.

Went here for a date night. Food was excellent! My wife and I shared steak kabobs, Moroccan wings, and the Kibeh. Everything was well prepared and the service was excellent. Would recommend this spot for anyone looking for some good Mediterranean cuisine.

I had a family gathering at Cork, the wine bar next door. A few of us decided to order take out from Baboush. The menu looked delicious. I ordered the Chicken Tez… I think that’s the name and babaganoush. Well when my order arrived it consisted of a chicken thigh and two chicken legs that appeared to come from a Cornish hen, two olives and a half of a half of a red potato. I paid $ 17 bucks for this!!! I hoped that the dish would impart flavor that would take me to a far away place. Guess what, NOT!!! The chicken had no flavor… highly disappointed! The babaganoush was ok, it was an odd green color but it tasted freshly made. I would suggest if takeout is an option go somewhere else. There are several better options in the area.

Have been here once on a Saturday for brunch. It was fairly empty which I was glad so we did not have to wait at all. Our server was a delight, and so was the food. I ordered the moroccan monte cristo from their brunch menu and it was so so good. A crispy french toast stuffed with mascarpone and fresh berries. My husband ordered the falafel sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. They $ 1 mimosas as part of brunch which was an added plus.

Food tastes great but little pricey. Salad portions are very small for the price. We had the sharable platter along with jarjeer salad and falafel sandwich. The bread in sandwich was quite dry unlike the pita bread generally served with falafel. Overall the food tastes good.

We stopped in here for some happy hour after spending the day at the state fair. The drinks here are amazing. The cucumber delight and lebanese night were two that I would recommend. And, like any good happy hour spot, the appetizer sample (plate to share) was phenomenal. The platter comes with hummus, baba ganoush, olives, a tomato/​cardamom spread and a spicy yogurt spread. And of course, you receive a basket full of pita bread to accompany all the delicious spreads. Of the four, I liked the baba ganoush the best. My wife and I quickly devoured it. As an added bonus, our server brought us another hot platter full, fresh from the oven, just as we were running out. This was great, especially considering we still had half of our spreads left. If you end up in uptown, check this place out. Parking (on the street) isn’t too hard to find either and it’s free.

Food was really tasty and the waiter was very informative and helpful in selection. Drinks were on point!

Appetizer: Platter to Share. Just do it. You’ll thank me later. Everything about it will just have you wanting more. They also give you unlimited amount of pita bread until you finish your spreads. Other than that, I got their beef cigars and Angus beef kebab. The Angus beef kebab was a bit too dry for my taste, but I really did enjoy their beef cigars which was just about right with texture and taste. I got a side of basmati rice and it smelled very aromatic and tasted just as good as it smelled. Nevertheless, I always come back!
Also, if you go during the weekend, don’t be surprised by the random belly dancer. I was caught off guard, but HEY. She knows what she’s doing and she was amazing. Plus, who would hate belly dancers? Am I right.

This place is awesome! it is actually on an offstreet of McKinney, facing north.
The restaurant is a super swell place to have a drink, munch on some fresh healthy appetizers, or have a kabab before a DSO performance! Prices are very affordable, and the tastes are not that exotic, like the THAI or Indian cuisines.
First of all we had the $ 15 Sampler plate which includes some awesome Moroccan olives, with plenty of naan type bread and 3 – 4 other spreads.
My wife and I tried the cocktails, and although a little pricey, we enjoyed them.
I suggest ordering a lot of different things and having the table eat family style, so you can survey the various flavors that will delight your senses!
The tabouleh, chicken kebabs, and basmati rice was our favorites!

Absolutely flavorful food, I just wish their portions were a little larger. I had the Grilled Kofta Kebab (beef), and it only came with one skewer. I wish I had more! If they offered two prices (choosing between 1 or 2 skewers), that would be better. The vegetables were grilled perfectly, and the rice was also great. The prices are a little steep for their small portions, and you’ll definitely need to order an appetizer or two if you have an appetite. But if you’re wanting to try really good Mediterranean food and willing to pay a little more, I would recommend this spot.
Also, I absolutely loved the décor of this place! Beautifully decorated without being over the top or tacky. The lanterns are just so pretty.

This place is far better than I remembered it! I love how this place is decorated — it makes me feel like I’ve just landed in Marrakesh. It’s a cozy little spot perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, and a fun summer evening out in Uptown.
They’re drinks are phenomenal — definitely great twists on classics you love. One of my favorites was the Casablanca Mint Tea. It’s got notes of mint and orange blossom with a splash of lemon. (Of course there’s a little vodka and green tea too). But definitely one of the best I’ve had in a while.
The food is incredible. The lamb tagine is out of this world! Definitely an amazing dish I loved. I would also recommend the Couscous as a side dish. It’s just a little sweet but goes with pretty much everything.
As for desserts, maybe the baklava or crème brûlée? The baklava is definitely my favorite — it’s light and refreshing. I’m generally not a fan of crème brûlée but their orange blossom one is surprisingly good. I guess I’m just a sucker for orange blossom?
Anyway, all in all this is such a great find — highly recommend it!

I wish I could have actually tasted the food here, but every time I go (both times with a group of 5+), I’ve never received any service.
The first time, the manager tried to charge a $ 20 cover for eating in because half of our party didn’t drink and wasn’t going to do the 2-​drink minimum. So, we left, who charges a cover for eating dinner? And in West Village? Cmon now…
The second time was with a group of 6. We were seated indoors, and there was only one other occupied table. We were completely ignored for 15 minutes, no water was offered and the waitress did not come by to get our orders. Finally, they realize it and get us water, another 10 minutes goes by and no waiter has come by to even attempt to get our orders for drinks or food. So, not sure what is going on with that, but that’s not cool. We all got up to leave, and a waitress just smiled as we all left. Okaayy.
Before anyone thinks we weren’t properly dressed or our party was loud/​rude, we were all dressed appropriately and are a group of young professionals who recognize and follow proper decorum. They seriously need to fix their service.

Sexy drinks… That’s how they tricked me into coming here. In the world of sexy drinks, these were like a Steve Buscemi. I sat down and tried a sip of each friend’s drink, in essence sampling the whole menu, and found a common theme: an uncomplex palate of whatever fruit, just enough of a splash of some clear liquor to know it’s actually alcoholic, and a ton of sugar. So I decide on the «Morrocan Old Fashioned». After all, it’s mostly just bourbon. What could go wrong? The answer: refer to cocktail formula mentioned above (except sub that fruit/​sugar combo with cough syrup). Not to mention the cheapest these «sexy drinks» got was still eight bucks. In short, mixology is getting popular in Dallas, so there are better places to go for a good cocktail.
Ok… enough scathing. Honestly I love the food. We had the share platter (pita with hummus, sweet tomato, babaganoush, and moroccan sweet tomato), dolma, and falafel for appetizers. Honestly each of those was at least on par if not surpassing what you find at other mediterranean places. For my entrée I got the salmon kebab. It was very succulent and tasty, although it got a little dry by the time I finished it. I would definitely recommend any of the food I tried. So if you are craving some Moroccan/​Lebanese food, come here. If you want to get your sexy drink on, maybe try somewhere else.

I am a fan of Baboush. It is a quaint little restaurant with a romantic feel. When I say quaint, I mean it is tiny, yet comfortable. When we walked in on a Friday night around 7:30 after having made an Open Table reservation, there were only two open tables. We stood around for a bit and no one approached us. We finally just chose a booth table and sat down.
It was clear that the staff was extremely short-​staffed because I soon realized that our waiter was taking care of all of tables with the help of a girl, who may or may not have been the hostess as well because later when another table entered she quickly went and grabbed menus to seat them. He seemed to be juggling multiple hats because he was mixing drinks for his customers too. I had to make sure to tell him to please check our open table reservation in since there was no hostess booth or computer at the front of the restaurant. Despite it being very busy, the service was decent and our waiter was pretty on top of things.
The Hummus was absolutely delicious. I did get a little annoyed though because we were asked like 4 times if we wanted more pita bread, which we didn’t, and so we finally caved in and said yes so they’d stop asking. They charged us for this of course. To eat I ordered the steak kabob and thought it was ok. I personally liked the Hummus better though. My drink, the Lebanese Night, was one of the best parts of the meal. The guava nectar in it was so tasty.
The restaurant itself is in a very great location in West Village across the street from Public School 214 and near Grimaldis. The inside is gorgeous and I love the bar. They light it up with some cool lights to truly give you that Middle Eastern feel.
I would definitely return to Baboush and think other Unilocalers should try it out at least once. It’s great for an intimate date night. Keep in mind you will be seated a little close to other Patrons, think of a set up like the Grape or Kozie Kitchen.

I just got back from the Middle East, and I think they’ve nailed the environment/​atmosphere.
While their menu is catered towards an American audience, it is tasty! Their falafel sandwich was amazing. Loved the fries and dip it came with as well. Dip was something like a spicy mayo.
I’s closeby to my work, so I’m sure I’ll be back often.

I don’t eat Mediterranean food very often so I spent the day before coming here looking into the Unilocal page as much as possible. I decided the day before to get the chicken teffaya since I’ve never heard of it nor had it before. The inside of the restaurant is very nicely decorated with great ambience! Service was also excellent throughout our meal.
The chicken teffaya was even better than I imagined. The chicken was so tender that it fell off the bone so effortless, and I can honestly say that I’ve never had chicken breast this flavorful in a long time. The sauce was not too sweet but just sweet enough. For $ 14, it is a little bit steep for what it’s worth, but I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely recommend it!
