As your photographer, I’m always exposing not only for the light, but for the emotion. It’s the telling moments I seek — the natural relationships between people — the genuine, spontaneous energy that comes forth when encouraged by a friendly lens. I delight in the timeless joy such pictures bring and relish their ability to preserve love, laughter, and life. This is the passion for me, one I’d like to share with you!

Raised in Boston, I moved to Southern California after having studied 35 mm film photography in upstate New York. My wife & I are now the parents of a beautiful little girl, and if I’m not photographing a session with you, you can bet I’m getting in some good picture time with her. I’ve met so many wonderful clients over the years, and I’m thankful not only for their friendship, but for the invitation to document their lives. I met Stephen back in 2007 when I was looking for someone to take photos of a cousin’s reunion I was hosting in San Diego. Little did I know, from that very first photo shoot, Stephen would become a part of our family.
Over the years, he has captured all the best moments of our favorite friends, family and referrals. He has taken gorgeous photos of reunions, family portraits, birthdays, engagements, weddings and more.
My cousins, friends and I are always excited to see his sneak peek images of each other’s events. We always come across a photo or two or three that will catch our breath, make us laugh out loud or want to shed a tear. No other photographer in our family has been able to do it with such creativity while keeping each of our events special and unique.
Stephen is professional, artistic and a poetic writer. He’s also very flexible, patient and honest with you. Every photo he takes captures the essence of his subjects and his writing is always a beautiful story that’s natural and true.
Stephen is as awesome as you get in a photographer. You won’t regret your decision in hiring him!

Having worked with several photographers in the past, I will say that Stephen stands out as being the most genuine, artistic, professional and consistent photographer I have ever worked with. Not only that, but I also believe he sets his price fairly not like some of the exorbitant wedding photographers out there. I will vouch for this guy and wish he really does this full time because his work is amazing! I understand that this day and age, there are always pro wannabees busting out their huge cameras in events, then with the advent of smartphones, everyone just about can take a shot. But Too many photos are created not quite artistic. If you really want to capture amazing moments, then Stephen’s your guy. Please check his website and blog

Stephen is the best! He has photographed our two sons’ birthday parties for 6 years running and never disappointed. I love his photojournalistic style and candid shots he captures of the events. He consistently captures many great shots but more impressive is the way the pictures as a whole capture and express the essence and joy of the party. I would not trust anyone else to document the progression of years and celebration of each milestone in my children’s lives.

I’ve hired Stephen on a couple of occasions and love his work. He should be charging 10x more than he does. I’ve also referred him to other friends for weddings and portrait sessions. He is great with people, isn’t intrusive of your event while photographing, and will work with your creative ideas or do all the leg and brain work for you.
