I’ve been wanting to try this place out for awhile, and finally got a chance on Saturday for an early dinner at around 5. Not impressed with how inside looks. It felt a bit grungy and needed some serious wiping down of all surface areas. Ordered a gyros/falafel platter, chicken breast platter, and garlic fries from the non smiling unenthusiastic tired looking, lost her passion for the biz woman. While waiting for the food as we were the only patrons, I got up to get ketchup but it was sticky so I didn’t bother. I walked around and noticed the big yellow sign in the front window. Change of ownership notice. So they are selling the place and it will become a sushi joint soon. Guess that explains the why bother? attitude. The garlic fries were good as it had plenty of fresh spicy garlic. Gyros meat was a bit salty, but we enjoyed the falafel balls, salad, chicken and cabbage rice. I felt like the falafel wasn’t fried after I ordered but was just warmed up. Cilantro hummus was tasty. Overall, the food was enjoyable at a good price point, but it’s better as takeout rather than a sit in experience. I might order the koobideh plate to go before it changes ownership as I’m curious to see how that is.

Cheap eats in the area is rare. This place offer affordable prices and generous portions. However, the owner told us that they are closing next week(I think Wed), it will be another sushi place. I am going to miss their awesome lamb shank, so tender and juicy for $ 13.99 only.

The soup is awesome. Feeling sick so I walked there for soup. Sampling system is really nice Chicken mango is divine. They seem to use the same soup base and put variations on it. For example, cream of mushroom, chicken vegetable barley and dill pickle all looked the same. They just added more of a specific ingredient. Mexican lentil was also amazing. Don’t let sign fool you.

OMG. Okay, don’t let the look of this place fool you. Neon sign above is out, small shopping center, chairs and floors look overly used. However, the food is soooo incredible! Not only do I want to try everything off their menu, but my son actually enjoyed his hamburger as well. Which makes them not only kid friendly but grown up off the charts good!!! I so rarely find that kind of combo, that when I do, its like I found a little piece of heaven. They have the biggest tables I have ever seen in a fast food restaurant. I felt like my son was so far away, he was in the next county. We jokingly tried to touch hands from across the table, and could barely reach. I think its wonderful to have so much elbow room to eat. And your going to need it because the food is AMAZINGLYGOOD! You know the commercials where the sexy girl bites into the totally disgustingly greasy, fat hamburger and acts like she’s all into it? Yeah, that was me that evening. Maybe I wasn’t super model sexy, but I was Valentine’s Day happy and this meal is anything but dainty. Its definitely a: «Don’t bother me! I“m eating!!!» kind of moment. Geez, I was a slob!!! I needed like fifty million napkins to get through my sandwich. But man, was I in heaven! The funny thing was my fiancé was in his own corner of the huge table experiencing the same total food bliss! These days, restaurants serve so much food, two people can be full off of one meal. Don’t plan on sharing here. You will want the entire item to yourself! I am not kidding. I wasn’t about to give up my sandwich, and I had no desire to try anyone else’s items because I was all caught up in how good everything tasted. I wasn’t interested in even daring to mess up the food bliss going on in my mouth. It was worth finding this little hole in the wall place to have that one of a kind experience. Cupertino has a lot of fancy and upscale places to choose from. However, only one place stands out in my mind as the coolest joint in the area!!! And the best part, its not too crowded in the evening because all the business people have gone home, and everyone else is sitting at a much more fancy location. Sometimes being Fan-sy isn’t what its all about. Good food, good company, and wonderful service is all you need to be happy!

I was looking for a quick to go meal to take into work for a night shift and happened to see Lee’s Sandwich and pulled into the plaza. As I was walking by I saw the Extraordinary soup & more next door and their little sidewalk sign and took a peek. I saw the chicken pesto sandwich and thought to myself oooOu, that sounds good so I walked in. I looked up at their complete menu and saw that they had a special Lamb Shank for $ 13.99…what a deal! At this point my eyes became bigger than my stomach and I ordered the lamb shank and then the Gyro Burger because the lady said it was popular. I took both items into work and went to town on the burger. It was a messy burger because it was pretty big but what a great deal. By the time I finished it I was controlling my breathing because I was full. But… the Lamb shank. It was calling out for me. I began to pick at it, it was good. But there was no way I would be able to enjoy it so I saved it for the next day. The next day I was worried the shank would be dry but microwaved it anyways and tried it out. It was still good and I enjoyed every bite of it. I really think this place is a great bang for your buck establishment, truly a little gem.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for over a year, just due to their soup reviews, so finally made it in last weekend. For some reason, it’s hard to find a good soup place, but found one! Pros: 1. Good selection of homemade soups, I hear she makes them daily. This includes a good selection of vegetarian that will knock your socks off too. Who thought pickle soup would be so good! I want to try their avgolemono next time. 2. DIY soup. They have it set up for sampling the soups with tiny cups, very easy to find the right one(without asking for another sample) All were tasty! 3. They serve more than just soups, tried the chicken kabob over salad, was pretty solid meal. 4. Superb french fries, had a nice Greek? style seasoning. Skin on, light and crunchy. 5. Extremely inexpensive for the area. Getting tired of other new places charging $ 15 for a basic lunch, that hardly fills you up. This place delivers for the price! 6. Family run, real nice lady. Support local! Cons: 1. Assuming the daughter took our order, seemed miserable. Could be lots worse, trust me. Oh teenagers! 2. No frills dining area, but fine for the price really. I’ll EASILY go back for takeout soup any day, or sit for a quick lunch. Yum!

great food, subpar service — 3.5 stars. The young man behind the counter must have been a trainee, because he 1) did not recognize my request for a gyro platter and wanted to know its menu item # 2) did not understand my request for a combo add-on until I pointed it out on the menu 3) kept my credit card in his hand after handing me my receipt until I asked for it back 4) did not ask if my order was for dine-in or to go 5) ran around delivering belated orders and missing items Frazzled server aside, my gyro platter and cup of creamy chicken barley soup was drool-worthy and filling. I’d definitely come back to try the other soups(you only get to fill your cup once, but you may try a few flavors using their small plastic condiment cups). The most unusual soup included an indonesian chicken soup. The rice that accompanies the gyro meat is flavorful and addictive with or without the hummus, tzatziki, and tabouleh. And the gyro meat? I am still drooling. The soup cart set-up in the middle makes me fearful and slightly claustrophobic, but I’m dying to go back to try more of their plates and their baklava. I like how they fry their falafel to order, a few at a time. I’ll bump up my rating if service improves on a future visit.

That hit the spot. I got 8oz of soup to start. It was great to be able to taste the soups before committing to one. Unfortunately they all tasted great, which made it hard to decide! Mexican Lentil soup was the winner, well worth it. I got the grilled chicken breast on rice. It was a very generous portion, the chicken was tasty and tender, well-seasoned. The rice was also very tasty and wasn’t too heavy. I got felafel and dolmah on the side. I remember having felafel in the past and finding it quite harsh. This felafel was very tasty and light. The dolmah was new for me, it was nice, but I’m not sure I’m a fan of the texture overall. It was mild and tasted great with the sauces on the side. The restaurant is small, but not cramped. It was clean and quiet. All in all, I wish I could just keep eating this stuff. I was tempted to go for another bowl of soup but I just had no room!

I got a gyro and falafel in pita. It was SOGOOD. The meat was flavorful, and the falafels were crunchy and soft inside. The pita had plenty of lettuce, along with tomatoes and onion. It didn’t have too much sauce, and they provide complimentary banana peppers, hot peppers, and pickled vegetables! The hot peppers were so good. My pita was so big that I spent a decent amount of time trying to figure out how to eat it. I wish this place were closer to where I live! I would be here all the time. It cost $ 6.53 including tax, which is very reasonable for a very filling lunch. Yum! I will definitely return if I’m in the area! [4/11/2015] I just stumbled on this page and it’s CLOSED now?! WHAAAT?! I’m SOSAD :(. This was a really great place!

This restaurant has a lot of options in Mediterranean food. I came in and got the chicken breast platter. The rice was DELICIOUS and the chicken was so good as well. The chicken was very tender and flavorful. The sauces were good with the meal and overall I would definitely come back and try more items from the menu. This place is also relatively inexpensive for the amount of food! The only con was that the food took a little while to come out, but it was well worth the short wait!

This restaurant has various Mediterranean entrees to choose from, as well as savory soups that you don’t find at your ordinary restaurant. I only tried a sample of the Chicken Mango Soup since I don’t typically order soup, but it was pretty much one of the BEST tasting soups I have ever tried! I’m definitely ordering it next time I come here :) My sister says she tried all of the soups and says that every single one is really good, but she recommends the Chicken Mango Soup as well. They don’t call this place«Extraordinary Soup & More» for nothin’! I forgot the name of my entrée, but I recall it having two meat kabobs on it(I think it was #23?) with rice and it was delicious! However, I liked my sister’s dish even more, which included grilled chicken, basmati rice, and a salad. The only reason I gave 4 stars was that my entrée was cooked to perfection, but they literally served me BURNT vegetables. All of them(onions, tomatoes, and green pepper) were burned totally black and I kindly asked if I could get vegetables that weren’t the color of charcoal. They were nice and apologetic about it and handed me a brand new plate with grilled vegetables, so I really appreciate that :) It’s a very tiny place to dine at, but it’s a pretty casual and cool place to grab lunch at. Also, the prices aren’t too bad at all since their portions are quite big and I had a plentiful amount of leftovers to take home!

Gyro salad was packed with meat! The meat itself was super flavorful, and the greens were super fresh. I noticed a lot of other places kinda neglect the salad part, but this place definitely does it right. If you come here with another person, the best deal is probably splitting a wrap — those things are massive and can definitely feed two!

Came here for late lunch to-go after ordering ahead via phone. There was only a lady working the cash/grill, and I’ll assume that she is the owner of Soup & More. There was a handful of parking spots when I arrived a little after 2PM for my takeaway order. I was greeted with a smile by the lady/owner(?) and to my delight, only paid about $ 9 for my falafel pita AND garlic fries! STUDENTSON A BUDGET, y’all should def come here. Once I opened my takeaway order, I discovered that my meal was altogether too salty for me :(The falafel pita was too salty for my tastes, although the falafel have a yummy kick to them. My garlic fries were also a little salty, but I demolished them anyways – I mean, who DOESN’T love fries?! I would most def come back here again next time I am in need of some lunch or delicious fries. The dessert items looked HEAVENLY too. They were proudly displayed by the cash register, and I found myself staring at the baklava and some brownie-looking-item. But I was a good girl, and successfully refrained from my hungry-girl-last-minute-purchasing-moment. I know there are tons of other falafel places in the South Bay… I mean, farther down the street you have House of Falafel… but I would say that Soup & More is definitely going to be one of my standard go-tos.

First off, AMAZINGSERVICE! I came in looking like a foreigner lost in a different country. Fortunately, the lady at the register(I’m guessing the owner of the place) was kind enough to explain to my dumbass what everything on the menu was. She even pointed out what the pictures on the walls/on the screen was. I opted in to get the chicken thigh kabob meal and beef/chicken combo meal for my mom. I also couldn’t help but get a 16 oz container for the chicken mango soup. Food came out in under 20 minutes. It was a bit of a wait but I can’t blame them since there was only two people working(the lady who helped me and another individual). The chicken thigh was so tender and the rice was amazing buttery/soft. My other tried her meal and said that the chicken was really good but the beef was a bit peppery. She still really liked it though. The soup was soup-er(hahaha) amazing! It had a sweet and savory taste to it which I really liked. Definitely try this soup if you have the chance. Will most likely return! :D

I’m a fan of this place. It’s basically a Greek place, which one can’t tell by the name of the establishment but nevertheless, it’s pretty good. I got the chicken breast sandwich on pita and it was pretty good. My only complaint is that I was still a tad hungry after eating my dish and half of my girlfriend’s. Maybe I’m just a hungry hungry hippo but I could have used a bit more food. This place is definitely worth trying out.

I had the chicken kabob wrap here and it was not bad at all. The chicken had some great marinade on it and it was juicy and flavorful! No dry chicken here. I got my wrap to go and my only qualm was that they wrapped it in a paper wrapping so the thing was quite soggy by the time I was home(which was only five minutes away). A foil wrap would help! You get a pretty decent sized wrap for what you pay for and it seems like a good spot for a quick healthy lunch. They have a lot of options and a good selection for vegetarians too.

Meeting with Linda P for lunch on a Saturday we ended up here. It’s next to Lee’s Sandwiches with a few tables outside. I was confused with this place. There’s definitely more of «MORE» than the soup! There was hardly any and what was there we weren’t interested in. So we ended up sharing their kabob plate which was really good. Go for their plates I guess?

REVIEW #280: Because the drive down the 280 from Mountain View is most definitely worth it for some Extraordinary Soup… & More. I discovered this place via Unilocal when I was looking for a good lunch place in the vicinity to catch up with a friend. With Cupertino known mostly for Asian food, I was surprised to find Mediterranean food this good, especially in a small place with such a plain and simple name. Perhaps it has some magical powers derived from the famous Extraordinary Desserts in SD. The interior looks like a typical lunch place, nothing too fancy and with tables that are closely packed, but it’s clean and sufficient for a casual lunch. Besides, the fact that food is served on a square plate already adds some classiness points. My order came reasonably quickly, and service was friendly though the lady looked a bit disappointed when I didn’t order the baklava she recommended. My friend got a self-serve SOUP and liked it(or so she said – maybe it was out of politeness since I suggested this place). I got the GYROSPLATTER, which is the absolutely most amazing gyros(& more) that $ 8 can get you. There are seemingly endless portions of succulent roasted gyros that was tender and flavorful, made even more delicious when dipped in the complimentary tzatziki cucumber yogurt sauce. The salad was refreshing with lots of cucumbers; together with the tabouleh, it balanced out the meal nicely. The hummus was a tab bit watery, but the fault was not severe enough to knock off a star. And lastly, the rice. Whatever combination of spices and herbs they use to make the rice should be patented. Unlike many pilafs, it isn’t greasy. By itself it is already delicious, and I cannot describe how happy i was to eat the gyros, tzatziki, and rice together P:

Not immediately obvious from the name, Extraordinary Soup & More is actually a Mediterranean restaurant offering sandwiches, wraps, kabobs and all kinds meat plates. The ‘Extraordinary’ soups are served on a self-served counter. They have about 6 – 7 varieties including some rather uncommon ones like Polish Dill and Black and Blue. Those small sample cups really came in handy for the indecisives. I like most of the soups I have tried but wished they have something lighter and not as creamy. The gyro falafel platter was absolutely huge. One order is more than enough for two to share. The gyro meat was tender and the falafels were crisp. It is a good deal for the price. My only complaint is the cleanliness and upkeep. I found food residue on the soup bowl and serving plate had a chip. Had it not been the case, this could be my new go-to lunch spot in the area.

Came here for dinner and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. There are small plastic cups where you can sample the soup before deciding on which one you wanted. I tried the crab bisque and chicken mushroom with white rice. Both were great, but I decided to go with the crab bisque instead. It was not too creamy or heavy, but yet flavorful at the same time. Definitely good soup there. I also ordered the lamb shank over rice as my entrée. I felt that the dish was a little dry, but I guess most mediterranean cuisines are the same style. The lamb shank was tender and I loved sucking the bone marrow. Totally see myself coming back here again :)
