My husband and I have been going to Dr Kim for a few years now… We wish all our other Doctors were like him… :-)

I live between Gilroy and Salinas Ca. I have my own dentist here in Watsonville Ca. In my life time I had Dentist that just pulled my teeth instead of trying to save them. I decided to fix the problem and replace them. I had to have extensive surgical work done. I did some research and went to a few local dentist in my area for consultation. I was recommended to Dr. Kim’s office. After the consultation I was more at ease about what I was going to have to go through. Dr. Kim was very sure and informative about what he was going to do. The whole staff was incredible. So helpful, kind and patient. Grace the assistant was so comforting and understanding. Thank you Grace. The finance Dept. was very helpful. After over a year of implants (6) and many trips from Gilroy to Cupertino it’s all but done. It was worth all those long trafficy trips to his office. Dr. Kim ALWAYS made sure I was comfortable. The work is great. I don’t think I could have had a better Dr. I recommend Dr. Kim to anyone looking for a great dentist/​surgeon. For me. It was worth the trip. Thank you Dr. Kim and Staff.

After purposely waiting many months to fix my tooth (out of fear of the pain) and get a dental implant, I finally went to Dr. Alex Kim. I’m sure glad that I went to Dr. Kim. He immediately made me feel at ease, listened to all my concerns, and answered all of my questions. The surgery went smoothly, and surprisingly, the post operation pain was minimal. On top of that — Dr. Kim made sure to call me afterwards to ensure that I was okay and to make sure that all of my questions were answered. I’ve never had such great dental care! If I ever need another dental procedure, I’ll definitely be going back to Dr. Kim!

Horrible customer service! Work that was done for my graft did not help at all. Unfortunately, I know others that have been to the office and are just as unhappy, although all I see are positive reviews… sad.

The best perio in the bay area, hands down.

I was originally referred to Dr. Jespersen for a root canal in my upper backmost tooth. After taking alook, he determined that there was too much decay to be sure, so he referred me to Dr. Kim, a specialist for underneath the gums issues…
After a thorough examination, he determined that I needed to have the gums pulled away from the teeth to get deep enough to the root to remove the infection that was causing the decay in my upper back tooth.
I had elected to use gas sedation because I have clinical anxiety and am on medication for it. I thought that it would be the best option for me, but as it turned out, something did not agree with me and I had a bad mental reaction to the gas. Both Dr. Kim and his assistant were so nice and patient with me while I was recovering from my panic attack and reassured me not to be embarrassed.
I have a history of fear of needles and generally hate the dentist.
I am probably about as picky as it comes because I have to be personally comfortable with a doctor I see due to the anxiety issues. Dr. Kim has a very good bedside manner so to speak,…
The actual work he did was exceptional. There were complications during the surgery that required the tooth to be removed in addition to cleaning under the root line and he dealt with it easily and quickly. I had absolutely no bruising and a very small amount of swelling that went away relatively quickly (the procedure was very invasive, and a good amount of swelling and bruising is expected).
After my 1 week checkup I am only taking ibuprofen to take the edge off the tenderness of the gums as they continue to heal fully.
So, if you are looking for a surgeon that knows his specialty well, and you want the best possible work done with the least amount of discomfort, this is a great place to go. Yes, it may be a little more expensive than the best deal you can find, but in the end, do you really want to cheapest surgeon to work on you or do you want to pay an appropriate amount for a great surgeon to do a great job so you don’t have to come back?
(I think this may be the only review I have ever written — I usually don’t take the time to do this, but in this case, people deserve to know about Dr. Kim — especially if you are a fraidy cat like me,… You don’t have to be afraid with him and/​or his staff)

the gum around my back molar was swelling painfully when i was out of town and i had to see a dentist asap. a friend recommended dr. kim and im really glad he did! he was patient and let me ask all the questions i needed to before beginning the procedure. the treatment he gave me not only helped with the swelling asap, he also provided general recommendations to help prevent any future gum issues in the future. they also followed up with me a week after the procedure, even though i was only a one time patient. in short, highly recommend.

When I found out that I had to get periodontic work done, I was extremely scared and nervous. I had to get multiple gum grafts due to a receding gum line in my front teeth area.
I went to Dr. Kim and was immediately comforted. Dr. Kim took the time to answer all of my questions, and made sure that I was comfortable before starting the procedure. He also continued to check up on me throughout the procedure to make sure I was OK and did not experience any pain. His office is nice, clean and the staff are all friendly too. Dr. Kim also personally followed up with me after the surgery to make sure that I was OK and was comfortable! Amazing! I never had a dentist personally call me after a procedure.
I am extremely happy with the work that Dr. Kim did, and I am healing well. I’m glad that I got this procedure done and my teeth look great. I would definitely recommend that anyone who needs perio work should go to Dr. Kim.

I had an appt. for another DDS, and didn’t feel like all my questions were answered. I was also very nervous and did get any reassurance. So I went here, advised by a friend, and I now have a Dr. and staff who can explain everything well and give me all the assurance I need to feel comfortable. Just had a procedure done and never had to feel embarrassed about being scared. They did what I needed to feel comfortable and now that the work is done, it looks and feels great!
