Good pizza. I have been here for lunch several times and love the pizza and salad combo. My most recent experience, however, was disappointing. I called ahead a takeout order for a client lunch and told them the time I would be there to pick up the pizzas. The pizzas were not ready at the time requested and I had to wait 10 – 15 minutes beyond the requested time for the pizza. This may not seem like a big issue to some, but when your clients are expecting their lunch at the start of their lunch hour and you haven’t left the restaurant yet, then it is a problem. I thought calling ahead and with a specific time would be very helpful to the restaurant. Hopefully this was a rare occurrence, otherwise I will have to look elsewhere for lunch for clients.

Such good pizza. I always pick up now since the past problems with the pizza getting killed in the delivery process. Can’t go wrong with the ricotta and salami pizza :)

The pizza is good. Lasagna is terrible just like the service. We waited 45 min to sit, which on a Saturday night is ok & kinda expected, but then proceeded to wait 45 min on our pizza! There were no orders in at the time either. One table got their pizza before we did and sat down and ordered after we did. When I told the manager about it, he proceeded to argue with me and tell me that it wasn’t that bad considering it was a Saturday night. What happened to the customer is always right?! He started to tell me times, and stayed arguing with me. I come to find out that our waitress took 8 min to put our order in. Our waitress brought out our other food and said our pizza was coming out and that she’d box it up but bring it out(cause we told her we had to go) so we could eat a slice. The manager said it went out 15 min before we even started asking about it. So she let it sit in the back in a box that long! Terrible, don’t think we’ll go back, at least not for awhile!

Love this place. I go there a couple times a month after skating at The Ice. The Pizza and Service is Fantastic. I’m going to have to try some other items on menu next time I visit.

The best pizza in Forsyth and great prices. Nick makes the pizza and it is consistently fantastic. Fried ravioli is awesome as well.

Moved to the area about two years ago. Sal’s is as good as your going to get if your looking for the real deal. Being from New Haven CT, I have had the best of the best(Frank Pepe’s, Sally’s, Modern). While Sal’s here in Cumming isn’t as good as those mentioned, it is still a really good pie, and the best I have had in Georgia by far. Everyone in the joint is super friendly. Everytime you walk in they honestly treat you like family, which is just as important as the quality of the pizza.

Garlic bread was nothing but dinner rollers slathered in garlic butter and parmesan cheese. Over cooked and too hard to eat. Not even served with marinara for dipping. Pizza on the other hand was delicious. Hand tossed thin crust with just the right amount of toppings. Nothing I can say bad about it. Give it a shot.

I have lived in Cumming for over 7 years and have been eating at Sal’s literally since day 1. I love the pizza and it it is the pie my children compare all others to. They have some good meals besides the pizza as well. Good sandwiches and spaghetti as well. There is a reason there is always a line to get in on the weekends. You don’t last long in a big little city like Cumming and Sal’s has been going strong for some time. As to others comments about issues with take out and bad presentation and such. I have had takeout from Sal and his crew at least 100 time and only once did they forget a side salad. You know what happens for sure but I mentioned it to them the next time and they took care of us. One tip is they can get busy and slow down a bit so leave some time for takeout on the weekends. P.s they are steelers fans so this actually needs to be 6 stars. One for each Super Bowl!

Sal’s place is my place !!! I eat there quite often for lunch and dinner. Staff is friendly and prompt my glass stays full. I usually don’t eat pizza so I can’t comment on that but the calzones are huge and their sandwiches are all classics. If you want a salad their grilled chicken salad will fill you up. I see a couple reviews on here that say the owner is not customer oriented I really have to disagree. I have gotten to know him over the years I have eaten there and consider him a good friend. Plus I think a full house every Friday and Saturday night says tons.

The best Pizza around! Closest to NY pizza we’ve had any where. Friendly service. Always excellent, fresh food. We adore Sal’s abscess here at least once per week.

One of the best pizza restaurants around. Love Sal’s pies. And he is a character as well. Close to NYC pizza. Not Brooklyn but Manhattan style. Keep up the good work Sal

I’ve been here several times for take-out pizza and they’re awesome for that! Decided to try dining in on a Saturday at 8:30pm and daters beware lol it’s the place all the soccer kids or basketball kids go to so its really loud and chaotic. When we first came in, we sat at front with no greeting for about 5 mins until we asked a waitress, found out after leaving there’s a low sign that says please wait, if you’re a kid around 4 foot tall you may see it. The service once seated was good overall, however, wait time for to-go boxes and paying bill wasn’t quick The food was really good overall and homemade. We ordered the cheese sticks and side of meatballs for an appetizer. The cheese sticks were better than average, homemade but needed some more seasoning. The meatballs were really awesome! For dinner we ordered a small Stromboli and calzone, they were huge and we only ate half each. The flavoring was delicious, our first impression was that the crust looked a little to crispy but after eating it and dipping into the marinara sauce, it was really good. The sauce was just average though, needs some more wow factor and flavoring. For dining it’s a 3 star, for ordering pizza take-out it’s 4 stars

This place is freaking horrid. Got delivery tonight; appetizers OK, salad OL, the«veal» was chunks(not lightly sautéed cutlets) of cheap beef cooked in way too much wine. New York u are not by any means.

OK I still have friends who I visit in Cumming and actually lived here for a couple years about a decade ago. If you are searching for legitimate New York pizza in the Atlanta suburbs you are in for a very, very BAD surprise. It does not exist. I looked for years… there are literally NO legit pizza places in the Cumming area… and perhaps no legit Pizza places within 4 hours of this location… seriously. That said, by Cumming, GA standards, Sal’s is about as good as it gets… which means it would have NO chance of remaining open in New York, but in this area this amounts to gourmet Pizza… LOL. There is a MAJOR lack of consistency. If you eat in, you have a better chance of getting a respectable pie. Take-out usually yields disaster. The people who own the joint are very nice, though when they get too busy, they are easily flustered and can get a lot less friendly. So if you know real pizza from NY, cross your fingers, hold your nose and eat at this place because the folks in Georgia know as much about Pizza as Vinnie from Brooklyn knows about Grits!

This is a small family run business, that still exudes pride and compassion when bringing you their traditional recipes to your plate. Their pizza is hands-down the best in the area. Thin crust, gooey cheese and a plethora of other toppings. Take some time to enjoy their Italian cornucopia of dishes. And as fast as we see those To-Go Boxes of Pizza slip out the door, I“m sure many others do agree. Fantastico.

OH, GOODNESS. Since moving to Georgia 5 years ago, we’ve been on a quest to find the best NY-style pizza, and I think we’ve found it! The pizza slices are huge(check), have just the right amount of sauce and cheese(check), and the crust is foldable, thin, and doughy-soft(check, check, check!) When trying new pizza places, we also have to order some sort of garlic bread/knots or bread sticks; Sal’s has this garlic bread that resembles those pull-apart Thanksgiving rolls, but they’re soaked in garlic butter and topped with some Parmesan cheese. Decent, although different than any others I’d tried. We also got an order of meatballs because I have to try the meatballs wherever we go. They were AMAZING. The flavor was great, they were moist and not dry, and the sauce they came in? Well after finishing off the meatballs, we used the leftover garlic rolls to slop up the rest of the sauce. It was that good. We got delivery that day, which did take nearly an hour, but they had warned us that would be the case(we called during rush hour). The delivery guy was friendly. Can’t wait to check out the restaurant in person! My only beef is that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays! Oh well, I’ll wait until Tuesday. It’s that good.
