Orchid Fever is one of L.A.‘s hidden botanical treasures. We have 10,000 square feet of greenhouses filled with thousands of orchid plants, hundreds of bromeliads, and a wide variety of houseplants. The primary goal at Orchid fever is to maximize plant life after purchase. Since we buy almost every plant in tight bud, these plants then acclimate in our greenhouses for an average of two weeks before they bloom and are ready for sale.

Orchid Fever Inc. is one of L.A.’ s hidden botanical treasures, located in the heart of Culver City across from Sony Pictures at 10 242 Culver Blvd. We have 10,000 square feet of greenhouses filled with thousands of orchid plants, hundreds of bromeliads, and a wide variety of houseplants.

The primary goal at Orchid Fever Inc. is to maximize flower life after purchase. We pick up orchids in our own custom designed, climate controlled truck with air-​ride suspension. Since we buy almost every plant in tight bud, these plants then acclimate in our greenhouses for an average of two weeks before they bloom and are ready for sale.

What is the result of all of this special care? We’ve heard it over and over from hundreds of customers since opening in 2000, «Your orchids last longer than anyone else’s!» Orchid Fever has been awarded «Best Orchids in L.A.» by Los Angeles Magazine.

GO TO ORCHID FEVER INSTEAD.
The quality of the orchids here is top-​notch. These people *actually* know about orchids. All the types. Miltonias, paphs, phrags, phals, oncidiums… Plus the plants are super sturdy and healthy. There is no rot, no shoddy repotting, no apparent viruses, and the people actually humidify the area with a number of plants and giant water fountain. This place is actually excellent for quality plants. This place used to be filled to the brim with orchids and they have a sparser selection these days, but it’s still an excellent store.

I know nothing of plants period and I went shopping with my little girl. I went to a different flower shop but the people weren’t social. The people here are great especially coming up to my daughter, letting her feed the fishes and turtles. Extremely helpful, patient, and welcoming people. Would I come here again heck yea even the prices are reasonable!

This place was great for a local nursery. Staff was really knowledgable and took the time to explain to me how to save my phal. Orchid even though I hadn’t brought it with me. Even gave me some free plastic containers to do so in. Really healthy looking plants in there. Mainly a Phalaenopsis place, not many exotics or epiphytes.

They were nice on the phone but the arrangement itself was just thrown together and had no artistic quality, nor did it make any visual statement what so ever. It was actually a little weird looking. Which in my opinion is pretty hard to do with orchid plants. You can get a better looking arrangement at your local Whole Foods, but at ¼ the price. Also, felt ripped off and was overcharged for what turned out to be a cheap looking arrangement using the cheapest orchids you can buy at 12.99 for single stem but was charged more than four times that amount. I wouldn’t buy here again.

Orchid Fever is a huge facility with tons of orchids and indoor plants. The orchids are not packed in like a warehouse. It is more like a garden, and the plants are really healthy. There is a wide selection of orchids and colors, in all phases of growth. They also have a large selection of pots.
I like this place more than Pac 8 Orchids because this is very well it, spread out and open. Additionally, the 4 orchids I got from Pac 8 weren’t the healthiest I could get. The two orchids I picked from Orchid Fever were pretty healthy. None of them were shocked when I brought them home.
If you want an arrangement, be sure to call ahead because they only have a limited amount on hand.
I was looking around for the cheap dormant orchids but I wasn’t able to find this section. Pac 8 has these available for $ 1 each which is nice if you are trying to get into the hobby.

Beautiful nursery. They do have a wide variety of Orchids and other flowers and plants to accessorize an arrangement. They have small to really ornate and impressive arrangements available, also if you have the time you can select everything down to the planter.
I was a little confused and even a bit frustrated when I asked to have a pink/​maroon Orchid to be prepared into a nice arrangement I got this as a response:
«We only have these ready to go» — pointing at a shelf next to the register with maybe a little over a dozen arrangements with price tags ranging from $ 30 to $ 90. None of which were simple pink/​maroon shade I wanted.
«I’m actually thinking of getting more of a pink flower…»
«You’ll need go pick everything you want, over there» — pointing at the selection of potteries, and plants on the other side of the tiny waterfall and pond.
Feeling she’s not really helpful, and that it’d take more than an hour for her to actually assist me with the arrangement I’d like, I picked up a yellow Orchid already arranged priced at $ 35.
She packaged the Orchid in a box stuffed with cardboard paper to keep it stable. Which I was really happy about.
The flowers are gorgeous, most of all looks healthy and well cared for. I bought another arrangement from another nursery in pink, and they were not as healthy as the Orchids bought here.

I was driving down Culver Blvd. I saw people walking down the street carring Orchid’s. Where were they coming from? I drove a little further and I saw the sign Orchid Fever, I stopped went inside, what a great place, and great prices. What a great place to get Orchid’s in Culver City!

What a great find in Culver City. We were on our way to a museum but had 15 minutes to kill… we spotted Orchid Fever so we decided to stop in.
I was in heaven the minute I walked inside of Orchid Fever. It’s a working garden house and they had rows and rows of beautiful orchids, both common and rare flowers. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They also make beautiful arrangements with potted orchids which I would’ve loved but being that I was going to drive back to nor-​cal, I decided to just some ideas and do it myself. The price is def reasonable and if all the flowers have bloomed, you get a significant discount… the trick is trying to get it to re-​bloom =).
Whenever I go to LA, this will be a must on my go-​to list. A fantastic, fantastic place to buy your orchids.
Needless to say our 15 minutes to kill ended up being an hour and a half =)

Amazing selection of beautiful and unusual orchids. I took my Dad here when he came to visit for Easter and I think he was in heaven… bought 4 very rare orchids and some beautiful accessories with which to put together an arrangement for his medical office.
Service was great, very helpful.
There is also a really beautiful (and I mean BEAUTIFUL) koi pond right in the middle of the entrance, complete with waterfall. It was so tranquil.

Best flower shop I’ve very been to.
They have an awesome selection of orchids and other beautiful flowers.
Orchids can get very expensive depending on how many buds are on each plant ($ 50 – 150) but they do have a few cheaper varieties $ 7 – 25 that are lovely as well.
I’ve had a few arrangements made here and they turned out beautifully. Again, they were very pricey, but are still alive! Woo hoo for potted plants!

I stopped in to buy my mother a birthday gift. The storefront is deceiving, it’s pretty damn spacious inside with 3 rooms full of orchids to peruse. That being said, it was a little overwhelming. I wandered around for a good 10 minutes before realizing I’m not a flower designer and finally asked for help.
I told them it was my mother’s birthday, my budget of $ 50 and they helped me pick out a pot, a couple plants and made an arrangement on the quick (well… more like a 2.5 hour wait).
The smaller sized orchids are about $ 12 for a single… uh, strand and $ 14 for a double. Fitting them into a pot with moss and filling and making it look pretty was an extra $ 15. With all that combined, my final cost was $ 68.
Sure it was above what I planned, but hey, it’s my mom… and when I walked into the house with the flowers in hand, she was ecstatic so it was worth going out of budget.

This orchid store is unbelievable. From the outside, you’d never know what’s inside. It’s aisles and aisles of beautiful orchids being raised for mostly commercial interior gardeners. They have rows and rows of beautiful Phalaenopsis and also very exotic orchids too. They also have a smaller selection of bromeliads.
The prices are VERY reasonable. Better than area farmers markets. Go and wonder around. Wear flat shoes, it’s a working greenhouse.
I saw this shop featured on an HGTV show. In a million years have not found it myself.

So I tell my girlfriend Lucy that I should buy a plant
And in her true fashion, she shows up at my door step with an awesome Orchid
I name it Herbert (kiss my ass if you don’t like the name) and proceed to water it every two weeks as the tab that came with the flower recommended
Well the flower began to die rapidly and I freaked… I hate it when someone buys me something and then I fucked it up immediately
Once my friend Everett brought me a shell from one of his trips and it was crushed within the hour he gave it to me
Poor Herbert is dead but while driving to a bar to watch the Lakers end the Rockets life, Lucy spotted a shop near my house called Orchid Fever
Sidebar: I hate it when people notice stores or places near my house that I have NEVER noticed… it makes me feel unaware especially since I’ve been living there for 4 or 5 years
Anyway, long story short, per Lucy’s request I go in and ask if there is anything I can do for this flower and the guy behind the counter gives me the verbal works
He tells me what kind of plant it is and how I should water it… which turns out to be practically never… then he gives me a brand new potted orchid and says «Tell ‘em where you got it from kid.»
Wow… a free orchid… maybe this guys just being nice or maybe he can afford it since he has clients that drop 6,000 a month on new flowers but I was grateful
In these tough times, it was nice to have a stranger really help me out and care about my loss
