Morton Roberts’ office has always been very professional and prompt. Morton does a good job of making his office feel like a small, friendly mom & pop shop instead of a franchisee. They always answer during business hours and the staff has been friendly and helpful. I’ve had only a couple of minor claims that were processed with decent speed, but there’s one aspect of coverage that I resent(to be fair, this might not be controllable by a local office). The roadside service portion of my policy is maddening and they should discontinue it if they can’t reduce the cumbersomeness of its process. If your car breaks down, State Farm leaves you your own to find someone to tow it. You pay out of pocket for your tow, make sure to get a receipt, and copy/scan it, and mail it to State Farm with a letter of explanation, and wait, and wait. There is no receipt acknowledgment or follow up. I waited 11 months for one reimbursement and have yet to be reimbursed for a tow bill I submitted back in 2008. It gives me the feeling that State Farm hopes the reimbursement request will just go away. I’ve since signed up with AAA and clench my teeth whenever I see Roadside Assistance line items of my State Farm premium. They need to drop it or fulfill it without an ordeal.
