My Friend told me to go to Modern Warrior for some reliability work on a PPKS and to improve the trigger on my Glock. He told me specifically to ask for Sean as he had mixed experience with the receptionist (apparently that has recently changed…). And WOW (!)
I am used to gunsmiths being only glorified machinists. Sean is both a machinist and an ARTISAN (!) — I feel like I have never talked to a _​real_​gunsmith before… — he took the time to explain the issues with my firearms and suggest work that he felt would be most applicable to my needs and specific desires. While he does work like custom coating/​milling/​etc, I just wanted to make my ugly guns work better — and what a difference! I am a good shot, but, now I am a good shot with less effort, which means better competition times, something I did not think possible, at least not this way!
Top notch work from somebody that truly cares about their craft, 5 shiny Unilocal stars for sure!

I’m always looking for a good dependable gunsmith and I’m willing to travel to find one. The Culver City MW is located in a auto mechanic garage. First of all, I was led to believe that they would install my Trijicon night sights on my CZ 75 while I waited, because I had to make an appointment. The guy now tells me it would take 5 hours, so I decided to drive back home which is 45 minutes away. The guy then calls me and says he can’t do the job, so San has to do it tomorrow and I could pick it up in 2 days. I call back 2 days later in the morning and they say they’re closed so come Sunday morning at 8:00AM. I asked, are you sure you’re going to be there so early? The guy said yeah, so I believed him. I show up Sunday morning and he’s a no-​show. I call and leave messages & no response. I stay 45 minutes & head home pissed wondering if I just got ripped off. Call again Monday morning & ask for an explanation, no apology. I pick up my gun, the sights are mounted fine but there are little nicks on my slide. I could have done it myself but I wanted a perfect job. I’m a gun– club member & gun salesman and could have given MW good business but I’ll hold off for now unless I hear from San.

The gunsmith (San) is courteous, professional and knowledgable. He made a minor fix on one of my rifles and didn’t even charge me. Now you might think that this makes sense if it was minor and not time consuming, but when you need a gunsmith, you’re paying for their expertise, not just their time, so this is generous regardless of the amount of time spent. They work by appointment only, so call ahead. Also, they share a store front with another business, so it’s a little (not a lot, just a little) hard to locate at first.
I won’t go anywhere else for my gunsmith needs.

San is great. He helped fix my problematic PPK/​S and I couldn’t be happier with the work that he did. I’ve had a few smiths look at it but only San was able to fix it. From the beginning, he was honest and straightforward with what work he thought would need to be done and then updated me when his initial approach didn’t work.
I’d definitely go to him again for basic smithing as well as for any custom jobs.

MWG has been working on my guns for years. San has worked on well over 10 guns for me, ranging from triggers… sights…to full on custom pieces (some of the pieces shown on the site). Everything has always been flawless, and any questions I ever have, he’s there to take them. Seriously can’t recommend enough.

I was referred to these guys for some work with my rail extension. As many of you know, it is hard to find a gunsmith in the LA area, and a decent one is even harder to find. I am absolutely happy with the superb work on my scar 16. I am referring these guys to my friends. Very good price for the work done. Sean hooked me up with a discount and he was able to finish this project for me within a day which I thought would take a week to do. They also have very flexible hours so that’s another plus. I will definitely come back in the future for any projects I need done. Good business deserve good praise, kudos to you guys from a very satisfied customer.

I started with a simple trigger job and was so happy that I keep on going back with more and more work. Currently he is doing a total custom job on a Nighthawk custom to make it the ultimate 1911.

San (pronounced Sean) is amazing. First, I found them on a google search, and he quickly called me back. I just needed some quick help on a pesky toy that never seems quite fit back together. He said that if I wanted to drop by he would take a look. I was there in 20 minutes an he fixed it in 5 minutes. He didn’t charge me anything either. He said it only took him a few minutes.
It is not very often in this business that you find a great smith that loves his work, and knows how to give great customer service. This group is one of them. I hope to continue to use them into the future.

San is one the most generous and outstanding gun smiths around. In a day and age where quality, integrity, overall honesty are hard to come by, look to further than MWG. These guys are truly amazing at what they do. I am not one that is easily impressed. I have to say that I am totally blown away by their work. I started with a total custom job on my Benelli M2 and now I have them working on practically every gun I own. Their prices are great for what they have to offer. Quite honestly, I was expecting to pay a lot more than what they are charging me. Thanks San. Keep up the great work.

So I was looking for an armorer to do a simple sight swap. I founds quit a few folks who were a little sketchy or didn’t seem really interested in my minor modification need. I came across their listing here on Unilocal,checked out a couple other places with reviews and decided to give them a try.
I requested a quote about ten at night and by the time I got into work at 8 the next morning I had a quote and contact information. He explained to me they do work by appointment and to given them a call back when I had my sights in hand. I called this afternoon and they totally accommodated how far out I had to drive and agreed to do the work while I waited. I was stoked and of course took them up on it. I got there and about 45 minutes later my sights were installed and he even oiled my gun for me.
Yes they are still new to their location and it’s a little difficult to find, but my hope is they get enough business that they need an even larger location. I am very pleased with the service and customer service they provided.

I was looking for a local gunsmith who didn’t have a waiting list just to make an appointment and was still accepting new clients. Unilocal helped me to find San (pronounced Sean) of Modern Warrior Gun Smithing. My Rifle had some issues so he gave me several options, an estimate & a completion window. I was so impressed with his work that I gave San other jobs including trigger mods, actions jobs & grip alterations. What I’ve experienced from M.W.G. in the last year is that San is honest, has high integrity for his work & is very passionate about firearms. Imagine teaching beginners how to shoot & then going to your second job fixing guns… One has to love it a ton to be able to do that all day. My guess is that teaching gives him the ability to listen to shooters & assess their firearms issues clearly.
San is personable & prides himself in customer service. I’ve personally experienced & have heard about gunsmiths so condescending that you hesitate to ask a question. I’ve dealt with one who always passed the buck to the manufacturer & left me with a malfunctioning gun. Not San, he will do whatever it takes to get the mission accomplished. He’s even called a gun company on my behalf & has taken one of my handguns twice to test it out at the range. A SoCal gunsmith who has access to shoot several times a week & offers the ultimate function check is a rare find.
Being a family man, I can only dedicate a small percentage of time to firearms. This means I need someone who I can trust with the best solution my budget can afford. San gives me a fair price, his cost is moderate & it pays off in quality & guarantee of result. San will always ask if you’re 100% satisfied & will revise without attitude. IMO, San’s youth mixed with apprenticing skills from an old school gunsmith gives him a modern outlook on traditional applications. This is why I decided to buy their M.W.G. Flagship Pistol. It seems to me that San & his teacher have done extensive research & found the perfect platform to customize an efficient handgun. I’m looking forward to shooting it & will report back in the near future. In conclusion, San is a qualified gunsmith, firearms instructor & a marksman in an all in one package!

Got a chance to see their amazing work first hand. They showed me the Modern Warrior Gunsmithing Signature Designs. I viewed a few pistols in the process and demoed the AR rifle, auto shotgun and auto loading pistol. Honestly can’t decide what to start on first a long gun or pistol.
While I was there I picked up 2 of their knives a double sided tanto fixed blade with a fitted sheath and a unique opening folding knife.
Now that I found the right person to build my firearm just need to pick the project to start with them.

San is very knowledgable and a good communicator. 2 things that are very hard to find these days. If he makes suggestions he is giving sound advice and not trying to upsell. He does great work and I will be bringing more business his way.

I had a great experience here. My gun was sighted in at a range, cleaned and returned promptly for a very very very reasonable price. He was honest and I will bring any of my broken toys back.

Amazing work, I have a m&p 9 that needed trigger work done to it.
He replaced my trigger with the apex trigger i brought to him. Consistently kept in contact with me on telling me what he was doing to the gun. He polished, cleaned, and he even smoothed out my burred extractor.
After shooting a couple hundred rounds, i texted him and asked if he could replace my return spring to something a little heavier. He was so nice and responded right away with a appointment of the same day. Said itll take like 10min to do and it wasnt a issue.
Like everyone says its hard to find a honest and reliable gunsmith. This is the guy you want to go too. He showed me his firearms and showed me the detailed work he is capable of.
There are high profile companies out there that are known to mill the slide and customized stipplings and so on. He does it all if not probably even better than those big companies out there.
