Established in 1996.

We’ve been running the tennis program for the Culver City Recreation Department at Vets Park at 4117 Overland Ave. (corner of Culver Blvd.) for over 15 years. Called the facility to learn about lessons & schedule, the guy Mike was so impolite and snob as if he gives a favor to accept a new client! So unprofessional & rude! Not recommended at all!

Thanks to the good reviews on Unilocal,I found Mike Lanahan. My goal is to retool my 70’s tennis strokes, and become a well-​rounded player, and with Mike, I’m on the right path.
He’s an experienced and patient pro, and I love that he refers to himself as Coach Mike. Having a coach makes me feel like I’m really good! I look forward to each lesson I have with him!

I found Mike on Unilocal.Thank you again Unilocalers! You guys never let me down! On to my review, I literally could not play tennis before I met Mike. He has taken my game from lobbing balls across the fence to playing like a real tennis player. I’ve been taken lessons for about 8 months now and I honestly cannot believe how well I’m doing. I really didn’t think it was possible. He’s a terrific instructor! He teaches kids and adults. Very patient and really knows the game of tennis and more importantly knows how to teach someone how to play tennis very well. Highly recommend him!

I’ve been playing tennis for several years but only recently decided to take some lessons. I found Mike through Unilocal and after a couple of lessons realized that I should have done this a long time ago. Mike identified areas that needed work (topspin backhand, slice serve etc) in the first lesson and went to work on correcting my form in the next. I’m doing one hour private lessons and you can get a huge amount accomplished when you are doing very focused drills. I suddenly feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of the game after all these years.
Mike is calm, patient and focused on improving your game. He is also very reasonably priced.

I have just started playing tennis and Mike is an excellent instructor. He is patient and moves you through the process with ease. I have taken lessons from other instructors in the past and have left feeling as if I have not accomplished anything. With Mike, I am improving faster than I thought I would. Mike has coached many successful tennis players and seems to work with people of all age groups and abilities. His personality seems to be one that would fit any student.
His prices are great, which allows you the opportunity to take more lessons and improve faster. In addition, I have a very chaotic, unpredictable job and Mike has been very flexible in scheduling times that work within my schedule.

My 6 year old son is taking small group tennis lessons with Coach Mike. MIke is patient, attentive, and good with kids. And his rates are very, very reasonable. We’ve tried Westside Tennis, as well as Santa Monica, and my son seems to be learning the most here. There are no silly «games» or time-​wasting ball-​pickup «breaks,» just targeted, well thought-​out drills. We’ll be sticking with Mike.

Mike Lanahan is amazing! He teaches everything you need to know about tennis. It doesn’t matter your level or previous skillset. He teaches you the mechanics so that your swing is perfect. He also goes at your speed. You can do either group lessons or one on one lessons. I have been doing the private lessons, and I look forward to continuing. I take lessons with him at Westside Terrace club. He heads up the Pro Shop there. His lessons are VERY affordable, and he provides everything you need. I would highly recommend him for tennis lessons.
He is is a member of the U.S. Professional Tennis Association, and he is a former Area Training Center Coach for the SoCal section of the National Team, and the private coach of six National Junior Champions.
