Southern California Sports Card Show

The Southern California Sports Card Show was a really good convention.
Unlike the Long Beach Stamp and Coin show which features a small pavilion section for Cards, and mainly vintage cards, this show has a good variety of dealers and a lot who cater towards the modern collectors with lots of cheaper priced deals for set builders and kids. One dealer had 15 cards for $ 1, and you can pick up modern players currently playing from every sport on your favorite team. That’s what I think makes a show good, having something for everyone. There was another dealer who had random insert «Jersey» (Memorabilia /​Relic) cards priced from $ 2 to $ 5 and up which were good bargains, no huge trash to treasure steals but solid buys for fans and collectors (as opposed to those looking to profiteer and flip ‘em on eBay).
The fact that it’s in Los Angeles, and admission to get in is FREE and the parking was fairly easy with a big FREE lot (sure, you may have to walk a little bit). I think dealer tables are available for under $ 100 for this one day, 8 hour show too.
What was missing was «wax» (Box and Pack) dealers, but there were a lot of sellers of vintage cards to hot modern day cards and everything in-​between, especially if you’re a fan and collector of the 1980’s to 1990’s and felt nostalgic for some really good deals on cards that aren’t sizzling hot that used to be popular for really good prices.
I’m looking forward to this show continuing to evolve and grow. It looks like the base foundation of it so far is pretty good. It reminds me in part to the old shows held at the Hollywood Park Casino a decade ago, but a bit smaller of course. I think the more the word spreads out to other dealers that this is a great venue for buyers/​sellers, it can only increase for the betterment of the community that more buyers and sellers will converge here and support this show with an even greater diverse range of collectibles.
It’s somewhat poorly advertised however and I only found out about it via Beckett Grading Services, who also was in attendance here, so I think this is a cool hidden gem of a convention that more people should know about.
I love the venue and location too. I’m not sure if it can grow and expand here ‘tho.
