Established in 1957.

Since the founding of Los Angeles Colon and Rectal Surgical Associates, our guiding philosophy has been, and will always be to provide our patients with focused diagnostic efforts and compassionate medical and surgical treatment, while adhering to the highest principles in the art and science of medicine.

The Los Angeles colorectal surgeons (formerly known as proctologists) specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect the rectum, anus, colon, and pelvic floor (proctology).

Liza C.

Business Owner

Liza M. Capiendo, M.D. is an Attending Physician at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She is an active member of the teaching faculty in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She received her Medical Degree from Loma Linda University and completed her surgical residency at King/​Drew Medical Center. While a surgical resident, she received the Surgical Resident of the Year award on three occasions.

Dr. Capiendo completed her Colon and Rectal Fellowship at Los Angeles County/U.S.C. Medical Center.

Dr. Capiendo is board certified and is a member of The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
