Let’s Go For A Walk

Mia is super-​great, gentle, and accomodating to my nutty schedule! I highly recommend her pet services. Biggest testament – my pekingese and cats are really happy to see her every time she shows up :)

Mia has been a lifesaver and I trust her wholeheartedly — she has a key to my house as I work long hours at times and I have the peace of mind that my bouncy terrier will be cared for as if family. Mia is super reliable and what I appreciate especially is that after spending time with Mia, my dog is super happy, well-​behaved, and relaxed!

Would have loved to use Mia but she did not reply to my email about hiring her, nor did she return my call the following week. Not cool.

My maltese stays at Mia’s when I’m out of town and Mia sends me pictures and updates about their adventures together. She has a warm, loving, contagious happiness about her that animals, and people for that matter, can’t get enough of.
You know when you’re leaving your baby with Mia that she/​he is getting the kind of attention you would give them. And they have a lot of fun too! I don’t think my dog misses me at all! haha

My husband and I got our little Rogue, about 4 months ago. In the beginning we stressed out about who to choose to take Rogue on walks during the day, since we both work. We tried a couple dog walkers that would come to our home for a half hour and supposedly take Rogue for a walk. Come to find out a lot of times they would just play with him in the house and wouldn’t take him for any walks. Plus they would charge outrageous rates for these «walks».
I stumbled upon Let’s go for a Walk on Unilocal and saw all the great reviews and thought I’d give Mia a try. Boy am I glad I did!!! Rogue is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and when he was littler he was a little shy with other dogs, but Mia knew exactly what to do. When we first met her, she had Rogue get acquainted with the backyard before she let any other dogs out. Then one by one she let the other dogs out for Rogue to get use to. Needless to say, Rogue did great due to Mia’s calm and attentive behavior!
Now, just after 4 visits to Mia’s, Rogue is so confident with other dogs, and runs right up to them, plus he walks better on the leash, something that I doubt I would have gotten from those dog walkers who charge an arm and leg. Every time I drop Rogue off at Mia’s he lights up and nearly knocks me out with his wagging tail when he see’s her, which to me is a tale tale sign that Mia is attentive and caring and knows what she’s doing as pack leader. She is so sweet, trustworthy, her prices are great, and I feel so at ease knowing that Rogue is getting the love, attention, and exercise that he so needs and deserves during the day. On top of all that, Mia also sends and posts pictures of the dogs playing and having fun (some of the pictures are hilarious!). Thanks so much Mia for being so great and taking such good care of our little buddy!

We have a 3 year old French Bulldog named Peggy. I had been home regularly with Peggy for over a year and had taken her to the dog park daily where she had a whole crew of besties. I went back to working full time earlier this year. My husband and I were both working long hours, he would come home for lunch every day to take her out for a walk in the neighborhood. We felt perpetual guilt over the fact that she was left alone at home for most of the day every day by herself, she’s a super social lady and likes to hang out and play with other dogs. I researched commercial doggy daycare places but none seemed to be conveniently located and the ones that were seemed fine, but just super institutional.
I discovered Let’s Go For a Walk this past July via Facebook, a friend of mine from the dog park had been tagged (by LGFAW) in numerous photos showing her dog having fun with a bunch of other dogs in various settings, one of which looked like the walking path located near our home. sure enough after checking the LGFAW FB page, it turned out they were located in my hood! I checked in with my dog park friend who gave LGFAW a (well deserved) glowing reference and then I contacted Mia.
Mia invited me come by (same day) for an initial meet and greet during which time she temperament tested my dog to see how she would blend in with the rest of the pack, introducing the dogs to her one at a time. She gave me an information packet to fill out with my vet information etc and asked important questions about health and behavioral history/​issues. I really appreciated this screening process, it gave me knowledge that Mia takes the care and well being of each dog seriously and acknowledges each of them for their individual needs/​quirks etc.
We were able to work out a daycare schedule for three days a week, on those days Mia comes and picks Peggy up and then drops her off at the end of the day which is SO helpful to us.
Mia runs the daycare from home, a beautiful, pristinely well maintained house in Culver City. She keeps the dogs on a walking and play time schedule and is always conscious of Peggy’s special needs as a Frenchie in regard to heat sensitivity, making sure she doesn’t stay out too long on the TOO hot days we’ve had in recent months etc.
Throughout she sends txt’s with photos of the dogs having fun and also posts photos on the LGFAW FB page (I still can’t figure out how she gets everyone to pose for the group shots).
Peggy loves Mia so much that when she see’s her she does a five minute happy dance (I like to call it her Meatball Shuffle) and on the days that she doesn’t go to LGFAW she can be found waiting by the front door around midday gazing out in hopes that Mia will magically arrive.
Peggy loves going to daycare, she comes home happily exhausted and sleeps until the next day.
I honestly can’t express how grateful and relieved we are to have LGFAW as a resource for our dog. Mia is smart, responsive, trustworthy, reliable and professional. She is also a genuinely kind person with integrity who truly loves animals. You just can’t beat the type of personalized care she provides for each dog.

Mia has been walking my two dogs now for a few months and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. I’m SO glad to have found her on Unilocal.
She is prompt, reliable, trustworthy and prices are reasonable. My dogs just love her and I love that my dogs get the loving attention she provides and the exercise they deserve. They have become healthier and have even become better on their leash when we walk them. Thanks Mia!!!

Mia has taken care of my dog Snow for over a year now and she cares for my 80lb german shepherd like she is one of her own. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for daycare or an amazing pet sitter.

Mia is AMAZING! I feel incredibly confident having her care for our dog Bagley. It means so much to get a text message with pictures each day she walks our dog. It’s nice to see that while we’re away at work, he’s busy having fun on walks with a great group of buddies. Mia is reliable, caring, and obviously loves what she does. She’ll take care of your dog as if they were her own.

We have a Shiba Inu that is not yet 2. Being a puppy he has tons of energy and needs to go to day care several days a week. I had been bringing him to three different doggie daycares in the city before finding Let’s Go For a Walk. Mia is amazing! She truly knows canine behavior and how to handle a pack. She also genuinely treats each dog like her own. I am more than reassured knowing that Sebastian is in good hands, has a huge backyard to run around, plays with his friends all day and on top of that, goes for several walks a day. I am fairly sure that he does not want to come home when I pick him up at night! I definitely recommend Let’s Go For A Walk to anyone in the LA area with a dog.

Mia has been walking our dog Mason since we moved back to LA, and we literally could not have made things work without her. She is like an extended part of our family. She loves the dogs she walks and it shows. She bends over backwards to accommodate our schedule and Mason’s needs. We’ve had a number of dog walkers in the past, and she is truly special. It’s the little things she does like send text message pics with what Mason and his friends are doing each day that shows us she really cares. If you’re looking for a reliable dog walker, look no farther. She’s the best!

We could not be happier with Mia and all of the services she provides. We were in a bit of a fix trying to find a dog sitter quickly, and she was available, willing to meet my dog immediately, and helped integrate him into the group slowly. My boyfriend and I had just gotten our puppy Sophie, and I was agonizing over which local boarding business to use for daycare and overnight trips. We’re pretty busy people and I wanted a reliable place where Sophie could go regularly and be well cared for, but that wouldn’t rip us off on the daily rates and for every little add-​on (in my search I saw places that would charge extra for walks, extra for specific feedings, etc.). Nothing seemed to fit the bill and I was worried we’d never be able to leave town again.
Then I found Mia at Let’s Go For A Walk! She runs the business out of her home, which has a big, beautiful yard for the doggies to play. Mia happily takes Sophie’s meals and snacks and feeds her according to our instructions without a problem. We also love that Mia sends us texts and pictures throughout the day sharing all the adventures Sophie is having with her four-​legged buddies. And as a bonus — Mia provides all of this personalized care at very reasonable rates.
After a day at Let’s Go For A Walk, Sophie comes home and sleeps like a log with a big puppy smile on her face! It was a huge relief to find a place that gives us no hesitations about her safety and happiness. If you are fed up with expensive Westside doggie day cares that are dubious at best, give Mia a call.

I have two dogs: one 6 lbs. Shih Tzu and one 95 lbs. Rottie-​Shepard. They both LOVE Mia. Her ability to connect with and calm my (sometimes rowdy) boys is pretty impressive. I’ve never met a doggie-​sitter who is willing to text me photos of my guys throughout the day — it really brightens my day! It’s also really nice to know that they aren’t ever put in a crate, but have free-​range of a nice backyard. Mia was born to do what she does and I totally agree with the other reviewer who said, «get in while you can.» Two paws up!

My 1 yr old shepherd mix spent 6 days with Mia while my husband and I were getting married in Chicago. Prior to finding Mia I was in a panic about where my «baby» Sam was going to go while we were gone. I couldn’t bear the thought of him being caged most of the day. Let’s Go For a Walk is cage free… The facility is actually Mia’s home. Since it’s an in home business they don’t keep too many dogs, which means your dog will get lots of one on one attention. They have a beautiful home with a spacious, well kept yard where the dogs can play.
Sam had to have an evaluation before being accepted. We spent almost 2 hours getting to know each other though my husband and I felt comfortable with Mia and her dogs right away. While we were away we received text and photo updates every day. Sam had the time of his life! In addition to 2 long daily walks Sam was able to spend the rest of his days playing with free access to go in and out of the house as he pleased. He had such a good time that we were afraid he would never want to come home!
In addition to boarding Let’s Go For A Walk also offers, grooming, walking and doggie day care services. You can tell that Mia truly cares about her furry charges. You really couldn’t leave your dog in better hands and her rates are very affordable. Sam Can’t wait to go back to Let’s Go For A Walk!!!

We were heading out of town for four days, the first time I have ever been away from our little ones (we have three dogs) for that long, so I was a little nervous about how they would do with someone coming in and out to care for them.
Mia, came over in advance of our trip to meet our pups. They loved her instantly. I felt much better after seeing their interaction, that it would be okay. Mia sent me daily updates and photos of our «fur babies,» which my kids loved, and just helped to make us feel good to see their happy little faces.
We returned from our trip to happy babies! While we were away they had someone to come in and feed them, play with them, and love them, just as if we had been there ourselves, and our report back from Mia was positive, they were well behaved, and she enjoyed them as well. So, good news all around!
I can’t say enough about Mia. We were so happy with her, and the love and attention she provided our pups while we were gone. 100% class act, professional, friendly, and really cares about the animals she is caring for. Our family is greatful, and will definately being using her for all of our future pet sitting needs!!!

What a great experience it has been being able to rely on such a professional! There are so many dog walkers to pick from, but Mia really takes it a step further and helps the dogs learn as they walk. We can go on with our day knowing our Sophie (who can be a HUGE handful) is going to be taken care of. It’s also so important that our dog walker is respectful of our 2 cats so they don’t get out of the house. We even get updates and pictures to let us know how our little hellion is doing!

I have two dogs; one that is about 4 years old and in the prime of her active life, the other is a senior, about 10 years old. Since early 2011, my babies have been going to Mia for extended stays, like when I go out of town. They love being in her care and come home happy little things.
Now that I work in Culver, both pups go for daycare. I have only positive things to say about Mia. I was exceptionally shocked to see Emmy (4yo) giving Mia a hug. I thought those were reserved just for me. All I know is my two pups love their time with her and the other pups she takes care of.

If you live in the LA area and you love your dog, you are in luck! Let’s Go for a Walk started watching our furry family member years ago in Honolulu before relocating to LA. It was such a relief to be able to go away and not worry at all, feeling totally confident that our pup was safe and getting plenty of exercise and love. We tried other dog sitters, but I trust Let’s Go for a Walk more than any other service. So much so that we FLEW them in from LA this past summer when we were on vacation for 2 weeks! I know, crazy, right? Our dog loves Mia so much that sometimes we are afraid that he doesn’t want us to come home. So if you travel a lot or work long hours, leave you pet with Let’s Go for a Walk — you will have peace of mind and your furry friend will have so much fun and feel so loved, that you don’t even have to feel guilty about your absence.
