History

Established in 2006.

We started in 2006 working with Ricardo’s Film Festival. We helped Ricardo make over 85 productions of his many trips around the world. You can see Ricardo’s testimonial and many others on our website.

After that, we started up our first office in San Diego, CA. Within two years, we opened up our second location in Orange County, CA. We’ve been growing ever since, and have opened up additional stores across the country, helping people transfer, preserve and share their precious family memories.

Meet the Manager

Stephanie B.

Manager

Sean Williams is the owner and President of DVD Your Memories. After a 25 year career at Belkin, where he helped people all over the world get connected and stay connected in more meaningful and personal ways, Sean now focuses on making sure that families preserve their precious memories for generations to come.

Sean acquired DVD Your Memories from founder Chuck Temple in December 2012, and both share the same passion for providing the highest standards of customer service and technology to create the best possible customer experience. Chuck left Sean a great business, and you’ll notice this every time you interact with DVD Your Memories.

When he is not in one of our offices making sure all of your memories are getting the royal treatment, Sean can usually be found homeschooling, playing sports, videogames, reading, going to the movies or eating at Chipotle with his sons Jack and Dylan, hacking away on one of his guitars, or sneaking off to watch the horse races with his father.

Absolutely awesome company and even better group of people here (Stephanie, I’m looking at you!). They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I’ll try keeping it short…
Came here with a handful of old tapes, looking to convert to DVDs for my father’s birthday. I let the intake rep know there was one tape that was particularly special — my parents’ wedding video from 1985. He took a look and said there would be an extra charge for it since it’s in older format and filmed outside the US. I agreed since that’s the one that meant the most. He said they’d be ready in 7 days.
I called the day before scheduled pick up to make sure everything was good to go. They said yes, but there was a problem with the wedding video — they don’t have a machine able to read that kind of tape. Needless to say, I was pretty upset. I explained that was the most important one and asked why they didn’t call to tell me this. Fortunately, I had Stephanie, the store manager (I believe) on the phone. She apologized numerous times and said they usually do alert the customer if they’ve been told about the significance of a certain tape at drop-​off. She told me not to worry as another company down the hall has the right machine and should be able to convert for me… Great… but unfortunately, she called me back and said they couldn’t convert either, but offered a solution that surpassed my expectations.
She said the owner of the store could drive my tape down to Orange County where they knew for certain a company down there had the right machine. The owner would then drive it back up the next day, personally, to deliver it. I couldn’t believe it. Absolutely awesome.
I worked with Stephanie over the next few days to get everything right (she even worked overtime on the weekend for this) and, because of her hard work, I was able to present the videos to my parents, on time, and they LOVED it.
Best gift I’ve ever gotten my father. Thanks for all the hard work and extra effort, Stephanie! Wish you would’ve been there to see the look on my father’s face when he realized what we’d done for him.
Would absolutely recommend and I plan on going back with many, many more videos.

They did a good job on some very old videos. Very polite and courteous and they gave me an initial 10% discount when I brought the tapes in and then when I saw the $ 20 discount coupon from Unilocal they honored that as well. I had several long plays that were over 100 GB so I put them on my own thumb drives I got at Staples for $ 20.

Found a broken VHS and a beta tape in my Mom’s things after she died. Found this place through Unilocal.They repaired the VHS and transferred footage from both tapes to DVD. I was most impressed by the customer service I got from Paul. Everyone I met was nice, but Paul went above and beyond when he would contact me with updates – telling me the contents and quality of the VHS tape and making sure I still wanted the job done, since the quality was poor and it was just random stuff recorded from tv. I did still want it, and everything he said about what the footage was was absolutely accurate. Plus, I used the «get $ 50 for $ 30» Unilocal deal which made it extra reasonable price wise. Thanks, DVD Your Memories! I would absolutely recommend you to anyone who needed your type of service.

The staff really did everything to correct the digital conversion of my 35 mm slides and the second run was really just fine. The colors were bright and the images sharp. They even provided very helpful advice on how to edit and enhance the images even further through
a program on my computer. I would return there without hesitation.

I brought In really, really old 8 mm films, some of which were in bad shape along with some SD memory cards. I wanted all transferred to DVDs. Brian did a fantastic job, easy to work with during editing, improved all the 8 mm films and added music to the SD cards. He had the work done on time at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this company for all editing work.

I was very impressed with Brian who works there especially– First, though I must say that the quality of my DVDS looked even better than the original source. Amazing!
I shot on an i phone, so the footage I gave them was ok, but it came back looking sharper, clearer and the audio was better… not sure what they did but it looks ten times better quality…
Then, when I went to play it on my laptop (I have a janky PC) my stupid PC wouldnt open the DVD, like, it wouldnt read it, and it was giving me pop us ASUSDVD errors… so I called and Brian totally walked me through how to install this safe program onto my PC, and even knew from memory how to install this onto a pc, and he stayed on the phone with me as I downloaded it and played my DVD to assure it was working.
The price was reasonable, and worth it. Professional and friendly. It’s kind of trcky figuring out where to park in that building, but I guess the first floor of the structure is fine, even though it says «Reserved» for Fed Ex, you can park there momentarily.
Also please AVOID Venice Blvd, after 4 pm, seriously. Props to the other guy who works there (I dont know who it was) who had to direct me over the phone, in the worst traffic ever, because my map quest (Google Maps or Waze) was not understanding where the hell they were located.
I was freaking out and he was totally chill about it, I highly recommend them.

My family recently found my late Grandfather’s old family Super 8 mm films after 35 years of being stored in an old box in my Grandmother’s closet.
Using one or two films, I tested a few at Costco and a few at DVD Your Memories (one at their location in Irvine, the others in Culver City).
All I can say is wow. The care and quality the team at DVD Your Memories takes with your family heirlooms is second to none. I’ve been extremely happy with the quality of the digital files and DVD’s that they have provided.
The quality in the video between Costco and DVD Your Memories was night and day. The films just look better, crisper, more vibrant. The cost difference is negligible and I would say when dealing with old family films, you get what you pay for.
If you are thinking of taking your family memories to Costco, I would strongly suggest you give DVD Your Memories a chance.

I had a VHS tape of a high school basketball game my friends and I played in from 1991. I took the tape to DVD Your Memories to get it transferred to DVD and they did a perfect job. The DVD looks and sounds excellent and they did the work quickly. Highest recommendation!

I went here to copy a Beta tape to digital.
They couldn’t find anything in the tape, meaning their equipment couldn’t read it.
What I was totally impressed with, though, was that someone called me to tell me immediately.
The guy was super nice in the phone.
He left the tape at the front desk for me.
I wasn’t charged anything and he even left me a post it note with the name of a place in Santa Monica that would have the equipment to copy it for me.
Talk about neighborly! So super nice of them to help me out like that and not even ask for any payment.
Interactions like this make me believe that good people and good business practices still exist.

I live north of Boston and have used DVD your memories twice by mail. Once I converted old molding snapshots to DVD and the next time I sent in miscellaneous video and audio.
Both times everything went flawlessly and I received DVDs with now perfectly preserved memories.
Don’t hesitate to do it by mail, in my experience nothing ever gots lost no matter how precious.

I was NOT transferring OLD vhs tapes — I was transferring newly shot ones for a music video where the artist wanted a «vintage video» look.
I had that rare vendor experience where they completely understood the nature of my job… they delivered early… AND They went an extra mile providing me additional footage looks that, frankly, made the video great.
I will be using these guys again and will definitely encourage hipster production-​types making «vintage videos» to do the same.

I had 4 really old (more than 30 years) 8 mm films that I wanted to convert to DVD. I did lot of research online and decided to try DVD Your Memories. It was more expensive than I initially thought but getting price from other places I figured this is a fair price.
I wanted to watch the videos with my family before my wedding ceremony as it had a great emotional value for all of us.
The quality ended up really great and the sound quality was really good as well.
It was definitely worth the price and the memory and joy it brought to my family watching it was priceless.
I like to add how me and my husband were surprised with such a friendly staff and great customer service. Living in States, guess we are all spoiled with good customer service but DVD Your Memories staff, took it to a different level for me.

I had one 20 year old VHS tape converted to DVD. While the cost was fairly high for only doing one tape at a time, the results were outstanding. Also, their communication and follow up were first rate.
I will use them again and recommend to others.
