How a Christmas tree became a threat.
Today started off well with my cup of coffee and playing in the yard with the dog. That all ended when the doorbell rang at 10:00am this morning. I wasn’t expecting anybody so I thought it may be Fed-​Ex or the mailman. I opened the shade and saw an older gentleman in his 60’s, wearing a beanie. «Hello, can I help you?» I said. The man, who I later found out was John, owner of Culver Tree & Trash, said he was here to pick up Christmas ornaments. «Christmas ornaments?» I wasn’t sure why anybody would be coming to the door to pick up Christmas ornaments so I asked him to wait a moment while I called my partner at work. My partner informed me that he must have been referring to the Christmas tree. Okay, that made more sense. I informed my partner that I had already taken care of the tree disposal with the city. My partner asked me to give his apologies to John for not cancelling the pick-​up, and to also give him $ 20 bucks for his inconvenience.
I went back and open the door and gave my apologies for the misunderstanding and handed John the $ 20 bucks. He grabbed the $ 20 out my hand, then said, «This isn’t good enough.» «Excuse me?» I asked. He then repeated the statement. I chuckled a little because I honestly thought he was joking. I mean who says that? I realized by the angry look on his face that he was not kidding. «I have another guy in the truck and I want more money. This isn’t good enough.» he replied. At this point I’m not happy with how disrespectful and unprofessional this guy is conducting himself so I calmly said, «Well, if it’s not good enough then why don’t you just give it back?» John put the $ 20 in his pocket and then said, «I’ll be sending over a bunch of Mexicans to f**k-up your house.» He then flipped me the bird and screamed, F**K YOU!!” Which I’m sure all the neighbors appreciated.
I closed the door and promptly called the police to make a report.
PLEASE NOTE: If anybody threatens to harm you, your family or property, take it seriously and report it no matter how small it may seem. There are NO excuses to threaten a person or their property.

John and his team did a very nice job on our two backyard trees. He gave us a fair price and showed up when he said he would. He trimmed the neighbor’s side of the tree and cleaned up the mess left in their yard, too. We would use him again.
