Great service. In and out. I took my crossover in for some well needed brake pad and rotor servicing. The price was the best I found around the Culver City area. They were respectful and courteous.
Easy to get to. Best service for the price.

First off…
DO NOT BUY THE Unilocal DEAL.
According to the owner, this was set up by the previous owner, so he will not honor it. Unilocal refunded my money entirely, but still.
I made the mistake of not identifying that I would be using the Unilocal deal beforehand, so I ended up totally overpaying for my smog check. This normally costs $ 40, which is what it would have cost with the Unilocal deal. After explaining to me why he wouldn’t honor the coupon, he gave me $ 10 the normal price of $ 69.60, but $ 60 for a smog check is still WAY too much.
Apparently this is an ongoing issue for him (he said it’s happened countless times before). While I’ll give him props for giving me a discount, a meager discount in a grossly overpriced (yet necessary) service just isn’t enough. The smog check took about 45 minutes (my last one took about 15).
While I’ve certainly met sketchier mechanics, I can’t say I’d recommend this one, given the hassle and expense.

in short, the owner is dodgy. I would avoid this business for smog test, period.

I called ahead to have a smog check performed in the morning. I went here only because the smog test technician of Rafi Autotech was out for the day.
When I asked for the price on the phone and at the spot, the owner said he will give me a good deal without confirming the price on Unilocal.When I received a bill from the technician, the price is much higher than I expected. I talked to the owner to honor the Unilocal deal, which he promised he would «take care of me», and did so at the very end (ending up a little cheaper than most Westside smog tests. I only bought the Unilocal deal on the spot when he promised to honor it). Note that throughout the process, I was in the dark for the price.
However, when I looked at my credit card bill later, the owner charged one more time on top of my Unilocal purchase! He knew what he was doing and noted my Unilocal code on his paperwork.
This place apparently is popular with a lot of people coming for repairs, with a local saying this place is good for car repairs.
But the owner is hard to reach, dodging in corners taking care of other things when you need to ask something, or know for certain the price of service for a smog test before agreeing to do it.
The only upside is that the technician who performed the smog test is very very responsible and nice. It was also rather prompt but did take ~45 minutes because the machine has to warm up in the morning, which is reasonable (while on the phone the owner said, «come over, no cars are here»)
I would go to a place with more transparent pricing for smog test, and a more direct, responsive customer service, and without double charging for their service. Hopefully it was an accident and not an intentional, unethical business practice.

Pretty much the best you can hope for, as far as smog check stations go. Friendly service, decent price. Can’t go wrong with that. Greatly appreciated. :)

I have not had a deal with this shop, but the owner of this shop (old guy) who was there sent me to his son who was next door. It is called FixCarNow, and he said it is the same business. I asked the old guy in Culver City Chevron Auto Service how much it is to change pads with fixing rotors? He said it is 90 just to change the pads and 140 to change them with fixing the rotors .
I asked another workshop before coming to them, and they gave me a price of 155 to change the pads with fixing the rotors and 90 for just changing the pads. So, the price was ok.
They began working, but they called me after 20 minutes saying that the rotors need to be changed, and it costs over 600!!! I came back to see the rotors, and they were ok based on my experience on car since I was little. I said no, do not change them, just change the pads, and fix the rotors. They said ok, they will do it that way.
They brought the pads, and put them in the car without fixing the rotors and did not tel me they did not fix the rotors. After finishing, I was waiting to see how much they are going to ask for, they asked for 1 $ 40! I said to them you said it is $ 90, but they claimed that fixing the rotors was just an extra service! I went to Amazon to see how much the pads are, and I found out that they were just $ 42! The same pads that he provided me with.
The day after that day, I went to another workshop near to that one, and accidentally I found one of the workers of FixCarNow there trying to fix a car that they were not able to fix it. I asked the other workshop if my rotors need to be changed, he said no they can be fixed, and I went to another workshop, and he said the same!!!

Yikes, after reading the reviews I’m even more horrified to learn that the rudeness and 4 hang ups were conducted by the OWNER! A co-​worker had tried in vain to get her started fixed today after leaving her car there last night with his son. She called during her lunch break and was told they had not gotten to her car yet and the owner promptly hung up. During her afternoon break she called again and was told that they could not get to her car. I then called on her behalf not 5 minutes after he hung up on her and told him that she would just like to pick up her car, at this time he said that she would have to pay as he had looked at it in the morning, I asked him how this was possible since she was standing right in front of me when he told her he had not looked at her car, at which point he hung up on me! We then called Chevron Corporate and filed a complaint. I called him back, yes I know it was a bit atagonistic at this point, but it was just because he was so damn rude. So when he answered the phone, I told him I was calling on behalf of my co-​worker, he proceeded to say, «sorry there is no one here to take your call» not sure if he was hoping I would think he was an answering machine, but I went on anyway to tell him thats okay, he would be getting a call from Chevron corporate! He immediately starting backtracking and saying what, what, at which point I hung up, and it felt good! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!

Worst customer service ever!!! Do not go there!!! The owner is rude, hanging up on me several times. I would NEVER give business to a man who is so disgusting to others.

Very very friendly family auto shop business and willing to help. Was in a bad accident and the manager was super friendly, gave me water while I was waiting and made sure I got the best service possible.

I’m almost about to give up. Two days in a row I’ve tried to get a smog check. These reviews are misleading. I tried yesterday on my lunch break and the only guy who did the smog checks was on his lunch break. They said 20 – 30 minutes. No problem. I was on my lunch break. So I grabbed a pizza at Papa Johns next door. I come back 10 till my lunch is over, no dice. I said I’ll be back after work. I was too late. So I tried today. I called first and was on hold for over 3 minutes. I hung up. I drove over anyway. 30 minute wait they said. Yeah right? Like last time? I got Carl’s Jr. down the street and decided to not waste anymore of my time. They’re not hurting for business so i don’t see how earning mine will make any difference. However, I DO need a smog check and they quoted me $ 45 so I WILL try ONCE more.

About as good as you can hope for in a smog test station. I called ahead and was told I didn’t need an appointment for a smog check, that they could get me in «right away». I drove over expecting «right away» to mean 45 minutes to an hour before they could look at my car. But true to his word, the owner directed me to an open bay as soon as I arrived. About 30 minutes later they were done and had my smog cert transmitted to the DMV. Total price, out the door, for my 14-​year-​old sedan was $ 47.75. Very friendly and polite service, too.

I came here for an oil change was promptly greeted by the owner. He was very friendly, even bought me coffee and donuts. The price was very reasonable and they did not try to push me into spending any extra money. They are a very honest and friendly place and I will definitely go to them again.

These guys were really great; since I was a first time customer they gave my car a full safety check on the house, and gave me a discount for another issue I had to get fixed on my car. They were super friendly, reasonably priced, and got the work done fast. I’ll definitely be coming here for future service.

This place is so awesome! I was already having an extremely stressful day and my car started smoking and overheating while I was on the 405. I was SO panicked but I vaguely remembered a shop on this corner. Thank GOODNESS I did! I was practically hyperventilating when I pulled in! Mamoun was so, so kind to me, gave me a bottle of water and had me sit down so I could catch my breath. He could have totally treated me like the crazy lady I’m sure I looked like but instead he reassured me, showed and explained to me what had happened to my car and hooked me up with a great price. Furthermore, although it was already 5pm, he had his guys start working on my car immediately and I got it back the next afternoon – and mind you, I didn’t even have my wallet on me! Forgot it at home that morning. He didn’t try to upsell me and take advantage of my freaked out state. Instead, he was calm, kind and extremely helpful. On top of everything, he took time out of his day to even give me a ride home.
My car is running great and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Finding a good, honest and trustworthy mechanic is like an anomaly. But Mamoun and his team are proof they exist! I will absolutely bring my car back here if I ever have any issue and I will highly recommend them as well.

just to put it in simple words, the person mamoun is a big fat cheater. I don’t want to put the entire experience of mine which will be very lengthy. but I went there to check my breaks n tires n found out that one of my tire on the rear is worn out. he said he has a used one. so he changed my break pads and one of my tire claiming that the tire is same. next day when I went to another mechanic shop, to balance my tires I found out that THE TIRE HE SOLD IT TO ME, HAS A NAIL ON IT, AND A CRACK, AND TO TOP IT OFF, THE SIZE WASN’T RIGHT. I needed 215 R60 and he sold it to me 215 R65. so I’ve to change that tire again, n i went back to him to give his tire. his reply was i wasn’t going to drive too far so it doesn’t matter, as though he knows how much i’m going to drive and where am i going to drive… really sweet with his words, but not trustworthy for his actions. can’t trust a person like him for anything, if you happen to go there for any reason, don’t let them handle your car, till he code u the price.

These guys are really awesome … had a broken rear vent in the car and got it fixed in two hours … that too for less than 100 bucks!!!

These guys were awesome after my car got broken into and I needed a new window.
Their quote was 100 less than everyone around, and their attitude was awesome. Car was done in like 4 hours… nuff said.

I had the great fortune that my car was towed here on a very bad day back in May when I finally reaped what I had sowed with negligent maintenance practices. Mamoun did not shame me for my irresponsibility or take advantage of my vulnerability. He was very forthright with me and gave me an excellent price for the repairs. My car was ready in a week after basically having the engine rebuilt, and he came in to meet me very early on a Sunday morning (the only time that I could swing with my work schedule) so that I could retrieve it. He even bought my fiancé and me coffee and donuts. All along the way he explained everything thoroughly and was upfront about costs and timeframes. Everyone at his shop was very professional and honest. I would recommend Mamoun to anyone and will bring my car here from here on out.

Been coming here for two years and simply there’s no one else I would trust my car with. I even buy my full synthetic oil (I’m very particular) and bring it in for him to change. Mamoun and his team are the best! Tell em’ Jonah sent you!

I couldn’t be happier than I am with the guys at the Washington Place Chevron. Mamoun is an honest, hard working guy and he runs a great shop. I’ve taken my old ’79 Mercedes to them on a number of occasions and they are always prompt and professional, fixing any issue I had for a very reasonable price. I can’t tell you the weight I feel off my shoulders knowing I’ve got a great reliable mechanic!

Mamoun is the owner here and he is truly a saint! My 1996 Corolla needed a new starter, and he replaced it and made it better than ever in just a few short hours! The mechanics at his place are so friendly and they really go out of their way to keep you informed of the progress. I suggest any single ladies with the Auto-​Blues, give these guys your trust, you will be happy! And that’s not always easy in this town. Amen.

I admit, i’m stereotypically clueless when it comes to anything involving car maintenance. A coworker of mine recommended bringing my car in to Mamoun when I freaked out about my engine light being on, and he was super nice to me. He explained what I needed and I definitely appreciated that he didn’t try to sell me on other random crap that «could also improve the performance of my car» (like every-​other oil change/​service shop i’ve ever visted).
There’s also a cute little park up the block to sit and laze in the LA sunshine while you wait. :)
