Batteries Plus Bulbs

Verizon had run out of Galaxy S4 batteries, so they recommended Batteries Plus. I ordered the battery online, and decided to do store pick-​up instead of shipping, because I’m stingy and didn’t want to pay $ 10 shipping. The closest location was Brea, but since there’s nothing to do there, I came out to Culver City to pick up, lunch with a friend, and run errands. Battery was around $ 30 and pick-​up was fast, no hassle — literally in and out within 5 minutes.

I’ve had better experiences at other locations. The guys are usually friendly and offer great customer service. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about this spot. Prices are cheap– that’s the upside.

What a pleasant surprise, a store with helpful employees! My cordless phones went out and required rechargeable batteries which I could not find at Target. A friend suggested Batteries Plus and I’m so happy he did. Batteries Plus had lots of batteries and light bulbs to choose from and a knowledgeable staff. I was even given a helpful tip– leaving the phone on the charger will wear down the life of the batteries. Who knew!

Really desperate for replacement battery for my beloved Samsung Galaxy SIII. Verizon Wireless storefront sent me here. Very glad they did! They had my battery for the same price on eBay — around $ 40 for OEM. Their battery came with lifetime warranty and a «seal» of quality– their initial on it. When I put the battery in my SIII, it was powered up and I was ready to go! Love this store! Great service! Large selection!

The store manager sold me a battery for my phone which was heating up. I left the store with new battery installed and was down the road when the phone began to heat up and random reboot. I had to go to an appointment in Downey and so when i got out i stopped at another store to get my phone fixed. They popped a new battery in the phone and solved the issue. The next day i went to culver city batteries plus again, and he looked at the old battery said it wasnt one of his. I said how do you know? He said because he writes on it with a sharpy. Well he didnt and treated me like a thief and told me to leave the store. Now get this, i was desperate at the time and paid $ 40 for this battery. He said that for one year they would take it back if there was anything wrong. I could care less about the $ 40 but I will never go to such a place that treats me this way. Screw them, dont go there.

DO NOT take your phone here to be repaired!!! I went twice, paid twice and neither time was my phone fixed correctly. In addition, the customer service sucks. I took my phone back a week after I supposedly got my phone fixed and the guys who supposedly fixed it refused to even look at it and told me it was working fine when I left. If you do get you screen fixed here, make sure to bring earbuds and test them and make a call and text message before you leave. I was told there are No Guarantees. Don’t throw your money away.

Debbie and Gary were so helpful in helping me trouble shoot a problem with my cell phone. They went over and above what any shop would do. Verizon said my only option was to get a new phone which was not the case. Thank you BatteriesPlus!

Fantastic service yesterday from Evan, thank you! I went in with a myriad of weird questions and issues, and he was extremely helpful and patient and willing to take his time to help problem solve. I had lighting/​bulb related issues, by the way, not batteries.

Mike saved my week! My cell phone battery passed away, I make my living with my cell phone. No phone, no food, no car. I called Batteries+ and Mike truely did save my day and saved me some cash as well. He gave me a discount on the battery. I’m a customer for life. Seems like commissioned people with poor service skills.
Part I (day 1): First this guy picks out a battery for me and successfully upsells. He says he will have the battery at the cash register and takes it from me as I keep browsing. Excellent «close-​the-​deal» technique and it worked.
Only problem is the hastily picked battery was of the incorrect polarity. So I am about to put it in my bike and realize it’s wrong. I get a new battery in autozone instead same day. It works.
Part ii: I go to return the battery next day. Two new batter-​bros, start to interrogate me – and this is slick:
Batter-​bro 1: (accusatory tone) why didn’t you get a replacement one yesterday?
Me: because it was late and you close at 5. [also, dude, you are looking at my receipt and I already told you what happened, how about apology instead for hand selecting a battery with the backward polaroty]
Batter-​bro 2: did you even try to connect it and see if it works?
Me:. .. No…
Wow. Bro 2 just heard me say that the polarity is backward and he is now asking me if I «even tried to connect it if it.» Great leading question. Of-​fkn-​course I did NOT connect the battery with the polarity switched. But he was clearly trying to bait me into saying «.. . Yeah and it didn’t work» and of course if I said that, per their policy, the product would be rightly unreturnable.

Great inventory but…
my battery was acting up, I explained the issue and the gentleman helping me talked down as if I was an idiot
«Its a clean battery don’t worry»
So I but the charger and lo and behold exactly the problem I described is happening
Now I have to drive all the way back over and start again. Reallllly I am frustrated. C’mon

If I can give a zero review I would. My car battery died so in desperation bought a battery at closest location. Car is a 98 so battery shouldn’t be more than $ 70 but charged us $ 130 saying that we would get $ 15 back if we brought in the old battery. A while later when we Brant in the old battery we were told that the guy who said that is not here so we cant honor that request!!! Come here if you want to be ripped off! These ppl should lose their business!!!

Went in looking for a 6 volt 5.5ah SLA battery for a solar security light. Hadn’t been able to find one online with the same specs/​dimensions as the original battery. They had a replacement battery that was 5ah but would fit in my enclosure. I took it it.

Long story short… they saved my life. My cellphone battery clocked out on me. I didn’t want to wait for the warranty as explained to me earlier that day at the cellphone store. I called and I believe it was «Alan» that helped me. Kudos to him because I find that when I’m stressed I become a bit of a comedienne trying to make light and he was patient and humored me. Turned out that they had one left and he set it aside for me. I arrived an hour later and still had enough daylight to make a quick trip to the nail spa. Shamelessly, at the spa, I checked in through Unilocal with the little juice it came loaded with. Back on the digital map. Win/​Win situation. Thanks B+B!

Uncle A-​Hole! I bought my nephew this sweet Custom West Coast Customs AMG Mercedes Kiddie Car, he was out of his mind stoked… but the battery did not work and I needed the replacement immediately! Nothing at Walmart or Toys R Us (even though the company said these were the ONLY 2 places that carried it). I call Batteries Plus and they said they had a battery that would work. Well not only did they have one, but Mike helped me to install it AND modified the charging system so I don’t have to dick around with plugging and unplugging the battery every time It is charged.
While I was waiting I noticed they had laptop batteries, and my old Dell has been screwed with zero charge for the last year… no way they will have a battery for a 5 year old laptop… Boom! They do, so freaking dope, I am out of my mind happy with this place AND it is right in Culver City. I even bought a light bulb for my music stand that has been out for 2 plus years because it is a weird size and Home Depot does not carry it. I am Never going anywhere else when I need batteries or lightbulbs! Helpful, knowledgeable and in stock, I am sold:)

Sean at batteries plus was very patient and helpful with me as I litterally Frankensteined together an auxiliary battery box for my camper right there in the store. Was very refreshing to work with someone that was knowledgeable and didn’t make me feel like I was wasting his time. I left the store with 100ah of DC power that ran my fridge for 2 days straight. I was looking for a old style battery that not exists anywhere.
I found it over there, they have many kinds of batteries and accessories

I called them to see if I could get a battery for my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II.
They looked in their inventory and came back to the phone and said, «Yes, we have it!»
«Great!» I said. How much is it?
«39.95» the guy said.
«REALLY??! I said. Okay, thanks anyway.
They have it online everywhere for under $ 20!
Mind you, that would have been $ 40 PLUS tax which would bring it up to about $ 43.20 PLUS gas PLUS my time to drive down there — so let’s call it $ 45.
I have amazon prime so I went to amazon, and ordered it delivered TO MY DOOR TOMORROW for $ 16.50 including tax and overnight shipping!
Without «Prime» it still would only have been $ 24.76 tax included to get it in TWO days, delivered to my door.
How this store is going to stay in business ripping off customers with prices like this is beyond me.
I am certainly willing to pay a bit more to support a local business and get my battery NOW; but to charge basically 2 and /​12 TIMES what I can get it for is just GOUGING and I will never go to this store and will warn others from going there.
Maybe some of their other prices are more reasonable, I don’t know. Go there if you want. But be aware that gouging seems to be the philosophy here.

I really like specialty stores and a battery store is something you always need. Needed a battery for Joey’s electronic door opener but I need to take him with me… So I got 2 big packs of 24 AA batteries, which I needed to replace batteries in a bunch of items.
It’s convenient to park on the street on Sepulveda, and you can park anytime — they don’t have restricted parking during rush hour. There is also a big lot behind that runs the length of that part of Sepulveda. They’re very helpful there and don’t make you feel like you’re an idiot if you don’t know what size battery you want.
