Fantastic food, wonderful people and a kind relaxing place to be.
They’re always adding things to the menu, even though I loved it as is: perfect bagel and the biggest and best variety of cream cheeses.
But, if you are going to add to this amazing place how about…

Good bagels, I just wish they made them all day. More of a morning spot.

Still eating the bagel I bought there about an hour ago.
This place needs some serious re-​vamping or just plain cleaning. Not that it’s eww infectious dirty, but its clearly not the air of sterile when I see a broke ass counter and un-​used serving section when I immediately walk in… Seriously?
I was in the mood for lox and since most of the Italian deli’s around here don’t carry, I wanted to peep this spot. Somehow the guy managed to hear ‘two bagels with lox’ bc in the end that’s what I got. At $ 9 a piece. Normally I would have been all ‘eff this manggg’ but ugh, whatever. Their bagel with ‘lox spread’ is only $ 3 so I suppose I should have went that route instead of dropping a twenty – remember, I ended up with dos bagels.
Quality wise, it’s as expected in taste. Could the lox be of better fish? Oh hellssssss yes. Clearly this is farm raised, run of the mill. The bagel is dunkin donuts dinko size too which does not fit its $ 9 price tag. $ 6 – 7 and I wouldn’t be complaining. The cold salads case looked like a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ shot at salmonella. hahaha I see a salmon theme going on today! Anyway yeah, I won’t be rushing to return or tell anyone else about it either

Yes, these bagels are small, BUT THATS HOW THEY SHOULD BE! Yuck, if you want a big fat doughy bagel this is NOT the place for you.
I grew up eating these bagels, and like most people who grew up here, every time I come visit home, a visit to this shop is at the top of my to-​do list.
They are small, dense and chewy and they slap on cream cheese to the point that it’s falling out as you eat. My favorite cream cheese is the veggie but they have a wide assortment as well as many types of bagels (I’ve never seen so many different kinds of everything bagels anywhere else!)
Even though it’s just a tiny bagel place in croton, the long lines in the morning are people from surrounding towns as well.
In addition, they serve wraps, sandwiches, pancakes, and other breakfast items.

I give only 2 stars as these bagels USED to be the best bagels in Westchester. I moved to CT and never could find anything like it so whenever I had family visit, I would always make sure they would stop and get me bagels.
I recently just got bagels and they changed everything about why they were so great! They are no longer doughy on inside, had a distinct taste, and now has rye seeds on the everything bagel!
Very disappointed and I hope they go back to the old ways.

Rude rude rude. The one star is for the guy who helped me – the woman who was working there gets zero stars. She was rude, dismissive and condescending. When I asked her name she said none of your business. The bagels themselves are puny and underwhelming. I’m not a regular but have been several times and have never had a great bagel from this place. The final straw for me ever going there again Is they are now promoting and selling tickets for a circus that is well known for animal abuse.

These bagels are sweet and undercooked. I really want to like them but just can’t. They carry smoked salmon from the Mt Kisco Smokehouse which is Great.

Greatest bagel place around, but there aren’t many. Bagels are small, but it’s the perfect size for a breakfast sandwich. Prices are reasonable too.

Ordered a croissant with eggs and cheese with a snickerdoodle hot coffee. The coffee was «pour it yourself» and delicious! The croissant was prepared quickly despite the morning rush of commuters. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere is clean and what seems like a local hot spot. There are many clean tables to sit and overall pretty quiet. There appears to be free wifi but I did not use it. Overall, great place and friendly deli.

Bagels are good and uniquely sweet, but a bit small. Counter people should wait until patrons are out of earshot to talk about them though. Counter person uses plastic gloves to not only prepare food but count and exchange money as well (defeats purpose)

Bagels are the bomb! Fresh made every day. If you like everything bagels this is the place to go, they make every kind of bagel in the everything style… numerous kinds of cream cheese… they have breakfast and lunch also. Top it all off with a scoop of ice cream as well! Snickerdoddle coffe hit the spot!

Their bagels are small and their egos are big. Their dough is sweet, if you like that in your bagel, not my preference personally.
Often, even though they’ll have bagels left the place will close early in the day as they think bagels can only be for breakfast or sometimes lunch not letting you pick em up on your way home at 4 o’clock.
Don’t ever order there bacon flavored cream cheese because all it is is bacon fat with pan scrapings. Instead of order a whole wheat everything with bacon and cream cheese…
They serve Green Mountain Coffee which is a big plus however many times it isn’t kept hot in those 12 or so dispensers. Also be aware they don’t have large enough cups for their iced coffee — he largest one they sell is only marginally larger then a Dunkin Donuts small.
They do support local initiatives like local s chool sports teams ncluding fundraising for some events and giving donations for others and even giving special prices to some local religious groups who ordered the bagles in quantity regularly — a most respectable trait.

Been a New Yorker my whole life. Bagels here are amazing. It’s busy so u know it’s popular but not busy enough that there are huge lines. This place has become part of my routine. Has family run type feel to it and a very good friendly atmosphere

Hands down the worst bagels I have ever had from a bagel store. It amazes me that people are lined up for them. It has to be because there is not a legitimate bagel shop near by.

The bagels here are good. There are a lot of bagel places I simply will not go to because their quality is a joke. We are so close to NYC, shouldn’t every bagel place be GREAT and fairly priced?
As I mentioned, the bagels are good, they are definitely smaller than many other bagels and less doughy. Sometimes I find them a little overdone and the outside a little too dark and crunchy. The cream cheese to bagel ratio can be way off. I know the morning is busy and there are a lot of customers, but please take the extra 25 seconds to properly butter or cream cheese the bagel in its entirety. When I take a bagel apart and one side literally doesn’t even have a schmear, and the cream cheese is sparse, it is a little ridiculous. The service does not instill a local, welcome to Croton atmosphere.
Still, only when it is convenient and when I am in the area do I come here.

I will never buy bagels from them again. My husband bought muffins and bagels for his office and ate part of a muffin that contained nuts and was not labeled as such. When he went to inform the staff about having an allergic reaction they did not apologize and told him he should have asked. In times when nut allergies are so prevalent I find it deplorable to put responsibility on the customer. What if it was a child who had a reaction? Beware if you have any kind of allergy. They will blame it on you.

Love Love Love this place! Reading the previous reviews, yes the bagels are smaller then normal. I love these bagels because they are not your typical Westchester Bagel shop bagel. They have tons of flavor and are semi sweet. I also like the fact they have flavored low fat cream cheese options that taste like the real thing. The only downside was a pound of low fat cream cheese was $ 10.00.
I am hooked to this place and go out of my way to pick up some bagels.

If this review was based on the customer service, I’d only give them 2 stars but since it’s mostly about the bagels, they get 4 stars!
These bagels in Croton are some of the best I’ve ever had. You can really tell that they are made by hand with love and although they are small, add some shmear & you’ll be full after one! You’ll find all your normal bagels: everything, sesame, plain but then you’ve also got egg everything & various types of cream cheese that are really delicious!
I personally love the chive or jalepeno cream cheese on an everything bagel!
There aren’t many tables but you can grab a bagel & go! Don’t walk in expecting a friendly staff but you’ll get a damn good bagel to make up for it!

Let’s focus on bagels. This is a New Yorker’s area of expertise, and having lived in NYC and enjoyed the famous H&H bagels, it is hard to find REALLY GOOD bagels. If you’re not a bagel lover, why would be reading this, anyway?
Bagel must be boiled, than baked and ingredients and the process (even the water) make or break this round baby.
So after moving up to «the country» I took a dozen into our Park Avenue office, where several other New Yorkers, and a couple of die-​hard H&Hers worked.
I was thanked for stopping at H&H for bagels!
The owner is a top-​notch musician as well — ran across him at a gig and learned that bagels feed his music.
So while it’s a 20-​minute drive each way from our house, when company is coming, or on a lazy weekend, it’s worth the drive.

This bagel shop in Croton has pretty good bagels. They’ll do in a pinch. I appreciate the unique «Egg Everything» and other cool bagels. They have a lot of different varieties of cream cheese. I wish their tuna fish didn’t give me heartburn and indigestion, but it does. Oh well. I eat it anyway.
It’s nothing special, but it’s large enough to sit down and they have a wide selection of sodas and other drinks. In general, I prefer my bagels more large, soft and chewy, and these aren’t really that at all. But they have good flavor and a pretty respectable texture, and I’ll take that. They charge an arm and a leg, but that’s pretty par for the course with bagel joints, which is dumb, but I keep paying, so what does that make me?!
