What a great hidden gem — this place does everything right. Don’t be fooled by their unassuming name or appearance. These guys make a great thin-crust pizza that is every bit as good as what you’ll find down the road at the trendier Middletown joints. One reviewer complained that the small pie was too small even for 1 person. Maybe so, but this is America — you can order the medium! We’re all consenting adults here, we can eat an entire medium pizza if that’s what we want to do. You’ll be glad you did. A small specialty pie is around $ 10 and most of their mediums are $ 12. That’s less than what you’ll pay for a small pizza at a lot of places. They have all sorts of great pies: buffalo chicken, pesto, hot oil pizza, etc, etc. They cook them with a very slight char but the dough is soft throughout, not crispy. They have an online ordering system, and they deliver!

When we order pizza we order from Cromwell pizza. We’ve tried other places in the area but with this restaurant you get more«bang» for your buck. The calzones are huge, the grinders are awesome, the chicken fingers are tasty and not too greasy! My son loves the hot wings and my husband loves their fra Diavlo sauce! I feel like I’m actually getting what I’m paying for and I definitely recommend to anyone!

A lifetime resident of Cromwell, my family’s go to pizza place has always been Freddy’s. By the time Cromwell Pizza opened, we were ready to try something new for a pizza place. Cromwell Pizza is cheaper, has more choices, and a sit down restaurant that is a nice option. I love their crust! Cromwell Pizza is now our go to pizza place in town! My only bad comment would be that the buffalo chicken pizza is a little too spicy. Other than that, Cromwell pizza is the best in town.

The food is really good! I don’t know if it is every night, but it was nice to hear a live keyboardist playing while we ate dinner! Nice quaint and cozy place to eat.

I’m a big fan of Italian so I was thrilled when I opened in our area and gave me the opportunity to eat my favorite type of food regularly while my kitchen was being renovated. During the renovation we use the takeout and delivery options. When we called to place our order they always knew what our«usual» order was and were able to provide us with a fast delivery. The only constructive criticism I have is the portion size is smaller than one would expect from an Italian restaurant. While we’ve tried variety of menu items ranging from their pasta with meat sauce to the chicken fingers and salads, their pizza is excellent!

Nice atmosphere with very nice manager and waitress. The pizza was fine and the pasta meal was extremely salty. When we went it was an off hour — between lunch and dinner. Hadn’t eaten lunch yet and too hungry to wait for dinner so out we went. I’m def going to give this place another shot because so many people in town talk it up. We just might have hit it on a bad hour. The pasta dish I got was penne with broccoli kale and sausages — just in case you try that and it’s horribly salty, let me know. It may have MSG’s or something in it because I broke out soon after eating. Either that or the salt really got to me.

The tuna sub continues to be the best tuna sub I’ve had out anywhere! Mare pizza. Clams, shrimp, calamari, scallops and white wine butter sauce. Too good! Linguini with White clam sauce too good.

Oh, my, Lord! Three words: awful, just awful. Worst spaghetti with meat sauce EVER! Two mouthsful, and I just couldn’t take any more. And only ONE meatball! Oh wait! It was SO bad, I’m GLAD there was only one! I’m serious when I say I fed the remainder of the meatball to the dog, and after having it in her mouth a moment, she dropped it and walked away. ‘Nuff said.

Me and my mom stopped here for a bite on our way home to jersey and we’re very pleased. The waitress was very attentive and served as with great service and a smile. The food came out fairly quickly and was delicious! We ordered a pizza, and it was so good! We also ordered mozzarella sticks to which my mom stated that it was the best that she had in a while. The only con was that the cannoli shells were not fresh but the cream was amazing. If we were lived around here we definitely would come back.

I’m really bummed. I was excited to see they had been added to grubhub as a new choice. I was really craving a calzone and more than just the usual party pizza. I ordered the wings, a chicken club with bacon, and a cheese calzone. The food took over an hour to arrive, which is what was estimated to me when I ordered, but typically it comes sooner. The wings had the sauce on the side, which was a pain because I had to open the lid and pour the sauce on and then carefully place the lid back on and not have the wings fly all over the place while I shook the sauce up. I know some people have different taste, but I ordered buffalo wings for a reason… The chicken club was not a club, but a grinder. It cost me $ 1.50 for bacon and they didn’t put the bacon on. The cutlet was soggy. The calzone was ok. It was really salty. I know there is a lot of cheese in a calzone, but I’ve never had one that salty before. It just didn’t have a good flavor to it. Everything was cold and soggy. I understand I’m across town(I’d say a 7 minute drive), but it was truly a disappointment since I read such great reviews. Very mediocre and nothing I couldn’t have gotten at party pizza. So bummed

I haven’t really noticed much in reviews that mention that Cromwell Pizza delivers. The great reviews on the food are accurate, but THEYDELIVER. No other delivery restaurants have food of this caliber.

Cromwell Pizza had been recommended to me by our neighbors who are frequent customers. Their reviews were spot on. Pizza was great! Thin crust with just the right amount of charcoal dusting on the bottom. Shrimp topping was cooked well and tasted good. I also had the tortellini soup, which was loaded with tortellinis! They had a subtle meaty flavor to them and the broth was good too. My fiancé had a calzone with bacon & spinach and he thought it tasted great! We will definately order from Cromwell Pizza again and recommend them to friends!

Food is great! Especially their entrees. Only thing is the prices that are a little steep for the salads. $ 11.95 for a antipasto salad and the container was barely half full(at least fill it with lettuce) and it was pretty sad looking. Plus they charge an extra dollar for a couple tbsp(at best) of corn. On the plus side their house dressings is excellent.

Good garden salad with olives, hot peppers, and fresh lettuce. They were stingy with the dressing so ask for extra if you want enough. Now the pizza. We ordered a large eggplant meatball pizza. The eggplant was tasty and fresh. Not overpowering. The meatball was sliced onto the pizza and was excellent. I think I would have a meatball grinder it was so good. The sauce was sparse. It was more like chunky tomatoes. The pizza needed more mozzarella on it. The crust was handmade and good. It was light and crisp. Not too thin but not thick. Byob is great. Have regular soda in cans and bottles. Unique flavors too. Overall good. We don’t live around here and not sure we would drive the distance but if around area we would stop in again. Advice: Don’t forget to sweep the floor and clean mirrors but bathrooms were clean !!

More pizza places? Thanks New England. Let’s cut to the sauce, what differentiates this establishment from the myriad of other Italian fare? A few things, the name is as simple as it gets, this is less important. More importantly Cromwell Pizza & Pasta makes great pizza in addition to great pasta, the name is fitting and deserving. We’ve ordered delivery from Cromwell Pizza & Pasta on several occasions, our diet destroying meal usually consists of their fantastic penne alla vodka, a NY style large pizza, and blissful garlic knots. Another defining feature is the customer service is fantastic, as I’m usually greeted cheerfully over the phone by somebody friendly and precise to take my order. However, while their positive attitudes are consistent, the quality is not. Sometimes the pasta is watery, sometimes the pizza a bit too greasy. But let this not dissuade you, when in the mood for pasta and/or pizza, visit or order delivery from Cromwell Pizza & Pasta. The name may be lacking creativity and you may occasionally get a rushed out pasta dish or sloppy pizza, but you’ll undoubtedly be happy when you’ve painlessly ordered delicious delivery from an actual friendly person over the phone and you’re stuffing your face on your couch.

Cromwell Pizza is by far the best pizza in town. I have never dined in since I live two minutes down the road, but their patio looks so nice and inviting. I believe they are also BYOB. But I might be wrong. We usually get a «Cromwell» specialty pizza and a white pizza with eggplant, spinach and ricotta. This weekend we mixed it up a little with a «Sophia Loren» and ricotta added(yeah… My boyfriend and I like ricotta cheese a lil bit), the usually eggplant, spinach, ricotta combo… with red sauce instead, and a gluten free pizza. «Cromwell» style. The Loren pizza was SO good. Highly recommended. The gluten free pizza does not come in small, but the dough is so good. You can hardly tell the difference between it and most other places’ regular dough. When we got home from picking up the pizza we realized they forgot the eggplant on the one pizza. I called back just to let them know, and they apologized and said they would deliver another one as soon as it was ready. And they did. I am so impressed by the customer service at this place. The people taking your order over the phone, the people cooking the food, and the delivery service is top notch. I’m sure the dine-in service is just as great as well, though I have yet to experience it. Thank you, Cromwell Pizza and Pasta. We are so glad to have you in town. You will be seeing us again soon.

A solid four stars for this place. Service was attentive and friendly — five stars for that. My husband got a chicken parm sub, which he said was clearly made fresh and was tasty. He did comment that there could’ve been more chicken and sauce and felt the portion was small. I got the fettucini Alfredo, and added broccoli. It was on the better side of average, though certainly not mind blowing, but also not disappointing(I’ve had many a watery or mealy Alfredo sauce in my day). Four stars for taste and food quality. The portions for both were on the smaller side, so we would give three stars for that. We will definitely be back to try the pizza!

I love Cromwell Pizza & Pasta! We just bought a house up the street from here right around the same time that this place opened. It was a welcomed addition to the lackluster pizza/takeout places that are in the Main St area. I’m obsessed with the antipasto and house dressing. The pizza dough bread knots that they serve are great. My bf loves the pizza. The owner has also been super friendly all of the times we’ve ordered take-out & delivery. Hope this place sticks around!

We just stopped by the new Cromwell Pizza and Pasta which took the place of Melilli’s at 307 Main Street. We were hoping for a great addition to the admittedly thin Cromwell culinary scene, and Cromwell P&P overdelivered. The décor is completely redone, and the place looks great. The music was contemporary and cool. They offer call ahead seating, along with my favorite, BYOB. Instead of buying a marked-up bottle of wine that you usually see when you eat out, bring your own and they offer up free glasses for rent. What a great deal! We started with Mozzarella Sticks and the Fabio salad. We were especially impressed with the quality ingredients in the salad — arugula, goat cheese, cranberries and nuts — with House dressing. We ordered a large which was big enough to split 2 ways. The pizza is excellent. We could tell the dough was homemade, and it had the really good crust bubbles that you see in good pizza. We had a cheese pizza and also tried an Evergreen pizza(ricotta, spinach, broccoli, garlic), and both were a hit. The bread was fabulous. It was made from the same dough as the pizza dough, and it was excellent. The kids had spaghetti and meatballs, and they were a fan. We did not leave hungry! The service was very attentive, and the folks in the restaurant were extremely friendly. So excited to have a neighborhood pizza place that we can count on for quality ingredients and friendly service. Highly recommend!
