History

Established in 1999.

Since 1999 Cromwell Automotive has grown from a one-​man operation to an 8-​person service team and growing still. We have moved in to our new, larger facility at 263 Main St. and have a large selection of quality used cars. We are a complete automotive repair facility; servicing «all makes, all models». We do oil changes to major engine overhauls and everything in between. We are both a NAPA Autocare Service Center and an A/​C Delco Independent Service Center, which means we are completely supported from A/​C Delco not just with their parts but also with up-​to-​date training in automotive electrical systems, engine performance, emissions, air conditioning, brakes, and diagnostic equipment.

Business Owner

Rodney Bitgood started Cromwell Automotive in April 1999. He has 20-​years plus of experience repairing automobiles. Rodney is the grandson of Dr. George Bitgood, A very well known Veterinarian in Middletown, CT for many years. While animals were George Bitgood’s first love-​his second love was automobiles– of which he had a very exclusive collection of Mercedes Benz cars-​some of which were very rare. While Rodney loves animals as well, his first love is the automobile– of which his grandfather passed on to him.
