Cute little Russian store. Beware of some of the food like candy and such, I bought candy the first time and it was really old and hard which was not a good sign. I’d buy any packaged items but not really any actual food that’s in there. I enjoyed the fact that there’s a little Russian store in Rhode Island. Being Russian and from new York it’s strange not to be around a lot of Russian stores and people. I liked talking to the workers there in Russian son e I don’t really get a chance to do so. The only reason it’s 4 stars is because there’s not a ton of stuff there, and the candy was bad which was upsetting.

I love this place, we come here every year when we celebrate Gotcha Day(Russian adoption) and buy candy, pastry, food and drinks. Super nice staff

The clerk(woman with long blonde hair) was absolutely the rudest, nastiest person I have ever encountered in retail. We were running late, and arrived at the store about 7:50(ten minutes before they close). I figured we could run in, take a quick look around, and buy a few things. But as I opened the door, the clerk looked at me, rolled her eyes, and made a face that clearly said«I can’t believe you’re walking in so close to closing time.» She immediately told us us that they were closing at 8:00. I said«Ok we’ll be fast.» But as my wife followed in through the door, she repeated the«we’re about to close» bit, and added that she had already shut down the register. Being our first time in the store, my wife said we’d just look around then. The clerk was clearly agitated and exclaimed«Look at WHAT? What do you want to look at here?!» At which point we left(which is exactly what the clerk wanted). Behavior like this can put a small shop out of business — they certainly won’t be getting any of ours. Russian products can be bought online — no need to go here. Terrible clerk.

This is great Russian food mart — lots of Eastern European foods. Just wish they took Credit/Debit cards. If you’re into Eastern European foods don’t miss this place.

I was very sad when the old Russian store on Hope St(originally way up on Hope Street) closed two years ago. Then, as I was driving through Rolfe Square I noticed this place. While it is not owned by the same people, they have a similar range of products, and even friendlier service. The deli meats and cheese are good, they have a lot of frozen things like pelmeni, vareniki, khinkali etc, and very nice smoked fish and Russian dairy goods. They also have a killer pick and mix candy section with lots of great Russian, Polish and Ukrainian chocolates to choose from. The bread selection is good, though it comes from NY, and is sometimes not the freshest. If you need any food product from the former Soviet Union/Eastern Europe, chances are they have it(including a lot of Georgian and Armenian goods). They’ve also got the best, I assume house made, pickles you can get around Providence. Definitely worth your time.
