Homewood Suites by Hilton

Ok Where do I start? The said check-​in is at 3pm, room was not ready until 4:30pm. After trying to have a sleep-​over with my co-​workers– 5 adult women, and after having some drunk deranged girl bang on our door and we call to report it we were told we were getting kicked out. I called the front desk to say someone was banging on our door and was told we are aware and then 10 minutes later the police come knocking stating we had to leave. We could not understand it we were laughing and Playing Board games!!! How much noise can you make? Meanwhile there’s the strongest weed smell in the hallway. I walk to the front desk and he tells me «we’ve been getting complaints its out of my hands you have to go». I was so confused, «ok so we just drank all night and now you want us to drive, that’s responsible». Five cops came to our room. I was dumbfounded, the front desk guy with his glasses kept repeating, there is nothing I can do my hands are tied. Finally one of the cops came to his senses after seeing that it was five ladies that were dressed in our Jammie’s who didn’t even flinch and not a threat this was the worst hotel stay ever. The suite was ok– the «noise ordinance» on the weekends… What do people come to hotels to do? Terrible, Terrible needless to say the cops tell me they kicked out 4 rooms already.

I stayed at this hotel a few times during 2014 and 2015.
I was able to rent one of their conference rooms for an engagement celebration. It was during the weekend of September 12^th 2014. I had the opportunity to stay the night with my new fiancé at the time.
In 2015 I used their hotel for my out of time guest for my wedding. I stayed specifically during the first week of November 2015.
Overall the rooms were very comfortable and clean. They housekeeping staff does a very good job. The front desk staff is welcoming and the breakfast is always good.
The only reason I gave them four star out of five is the high turn over for sales people. We went through three in total when organizing our group rates for our out of town guest. So it’s a lot of explaining which in truth you shouldn’t have to do. Overall I would use them again. Nice value for the money.

Stayed here for a wedding for 3 nights during Labor Day weekend. Great stay overall.
The hotel: suite rooms, theres a pool (i did not use), nice outside sitting area with a grill that they probably use for the dinners they serve Mon-​Thurs. I was there Fri-​Mon morning. Fitness center has cardio machines, water cooler and some weight-​not bad at all. (I did not use but looked at it). There is also a nice business center area with computers to use and FREE wifi!
The room: spacious, bedroom is separated from living room area which was nice. Full kitchen with full refrigerator which had an ice maker! Dishes provided and a dish washer. TV in bedroom and living area. The maid came to clean and refill items as necessary. Absolutely Loveddd the bed!!! So comfortable!!!
Free Breakfast: breakfast was good and sufficient. Nothing special or mind blowing. Oatmeal, cereal (i.e raisin bran, apple jacks) and milk, coffee station. There was fresh fruit like apples and bananas on the counter. There was an area for fruit, cottage cheese and yogurt. There’s a toaster and microwave to heat breads or english muffins. I liked the Belgian waffle making area (u make it yourself). Each day they had hot breakfast items. The area usually had one egg item, one meat item and one bread item that was different each day I was there. The items i seen during my stay was individual cheese omelette thingies or individual egg rounds, fresh toast sticks, french toast, individual silver dollar pancakes, sausage patties, sausage links and turkey bacon. Whenever something ran out the staff kept it refilled! Basically you don’t have to spend money on breakfast. Just go downstairs during the service hours.
The staff: friendly and always spoke. One staff member remembered our names each time he saw us and I noticed he remembered the names of others as well (Mr. David Lee)!! He had great customer service! Kudos to him as he was very professional and polite! One young lady during the breakfast was helpful and offered to make Belgian waffles in the back when the line was long. Another gentlemen in the dining area gave me a tray to take my food back upstairs when he saw that i was struggling. I didn’t even have to ask. Our maid was friendly and came back whenever we weren’t ready to leave the room during her scheduled cleaning time.
The parking: not to ding them but the parking lot is set up strangely. The hotel is a right next to an senior living facility and they kinda split the parking lot. Not much of an upset in the grand scheme of things but wanted to mention it. You end up parking on the side as the door to enter is on the other side.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others and would stay at another Homewood Suites in a different city.

We’ve stayed here countless times over the years. The recently renovated rooms are comfortable, and we love the flexibility of the suite layout. But what sets this hotel apart from others is the customer service. Everyone is polite and helpful, such as the housekeeper who offered to bring us a drink while we were in the pool, the front desk attendant who printed out a menu for us when my phone couldn’t get signal, etc. We like this hotel so much that we opted to stay here and cancel a reservation at a nearby hotel that we made for $ 50 less. It’s well worth the price!

I spent over a month staying here with my husband and 3 children while in between houses and everything about our stay was wonderful. We were treated with professionalism by every single employee and it truly felt like home. The complimentary breakfasts had something for everyone and the complimentary dinner Monday– Thursday including beer and wine was a treat. Even though my room had a full kitchen including dishwasher but it was so nice to not have to cook. We often took advantage of the brand new grills outside and BBQ’d. My kids loved the outdoor pool. We were also treated to Karaōke in the hotel lobby a few times during our stay and it was great to see all the staff members having a great time. The hotel is minutes away from Staten Island via the Goethals bridge so it worked out great for our daily commute into Brooklyn. We will absolutely recommend this Homewood suites to all of our family and friends in the NYC area and will absolutely stay here again.

My friends and I decided to throw a long time friend a quick bachelorette party since we were all unable to attend her first one. So being that I have stayed at the this location before we decided to book the 2 bedroom 2 bath suite at the hotel ! The renovationsg were breath taking from the lobby to the rooms I found the hotel to be very clean. I absolutely love this hotel would recommend to anyone interest staying in the area they have a pool A shuttle service and the breakfast is decent. I will be back soon

June 2015. The Cranford Homewood has had a face lift. In my opinion they have raised themselves into a real (clean and modern) suite hotel.
I would now recommend my mother to stay here. Pass the word, they have redone all the rooms and it’s nice!!!

Stopping over during a road trip. Called the Hilton line, and they recommended this property near our current location. Checked in late, and the front desk was very helpful in finding a local restaurant to eat.
It was our first time at a Homewood Suites property, and we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and accommodations. Full Kitchen, work/​dining area, living area, huge bedroom.
Bed was comfortable, comfortable and bath and closet was spacious.
Property is great for business or families. Lots of outlets, and good lighting.
The only downside of our room was that it was near the dining area, so for breakfast which starts at 6am, you get alot of noise bleeding through. Other than that, our stay was excellent, and would highly recommend this property in the future.

My new business first choice! Travel a lot, and this place was the best, esp for the price. Nice room, great bed, good TV’s, good breakfast and dinner w wine. Extremely nice staff including Juan, David, Vanessa, and Erin. Nice to have personnel that demonstrate that they value the customer. Can’t say as much for other chains recently.

Even though renovations have begun here, the room I’m in looks as though it hasn’t been thoroughly cleaned since 2010. The faucet drips, the furniture looks like it came from a Goodwill and the proximity to the highway will likely make it almost impossible to sleep. If I wasn’t so exhausted from my 6 hr drive, I would have left and found a new hotel.

Staff was very nice but facility is a bit run down and old. I thought the furniture was from a thrift store until I saw the lobby furniture and realized it was the motif.
The room was loud. The air cycled on and off all night and you could hear mechanical banging in the room. No sleep that night. Had to switch hotels.
I don’t recommend.

The suites are decent but the housekeeping and cleanliness of this place is terrible. Came back to find my bathroom not cleaned, towels not replaced and the linens were simply thrown over the pillows and not tucked under the mattress at all. I didn’t pay for the room so I can’t evaluate the value but as a guest, it was rather unsatisfactory.

Quick and efficient check-​in, free wi-​fi and parking. It’s (oddly enough) attached to a senior living community, so don’t get confused if you think you’re arriving there (vs. the hotel).
Didn’t get a chance to snag breakfast.
Love that it’s close to Newark (had an early flight to catch the next morning).

When I was in Jersey for business, I stayed here because it was down the street from the office. It wasn’t the nicest hotel but it wasn’t the worst. The staff was really nice and gave me discounts on bottle water and soda. There were a lot of perks and it seemed like the hotel was suited for business travelers. Here are some of the perks:
1) Free wi-​fi,
2) Cable,
3) Free breakfast,
4) Free dinner, and
5) Free beer and wine during happy hour.
The business suites were very roomy and came with a full kitchen. The staff was very attentive and delivered extra towels within minutes of the request. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Cranford.

I’ll start with the highlight: One dude walked in with two hookers, one on each arm! One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in! (After witnessing the hookers being escorted in), my sister and I had to get a trolley with a flat tire through TWO sets of double doors. Once on our floor, there were lots of turns down the long hallway, very hard to maneuver the trolley. Pink and black mold in the shower. Window A/​C finally cooled the bedroom (but no shade so we had to keep curtains open so A/​C would circulate, so no privacy) but the living room and kitchen didn’t cool off until morning. The Cable TV audio went in and out like a tape was skipping. No ice bucket. Hilton should be ashamed.

Breakfast included! Yay! Wait. No forks… ever. Ok For two days I can eat with a spoon. Not a huge problem. But no plates today? Ok a bowl. Oh. No bowls either. One person manning the café and moving at the speed of cold pancake syrup is not sensible. So come for the bedroom. But good luck at the breakfast. And it wouldn’t hurt them to clean it either. You have to swipe a dirty table yourself. Probably onto the floor. Then you can sit down somewhere. But do enjoy.
Just added: so I was waiting for plates because the one slow employee told me they were coming. But Monica found something easier to do… she closed the breakfast.

Hilton hotels are usually the same… this one looks alittle different inside and out… This hotel is hidden all the way in the corner so pretty much drove circles to find this place… stay here one night on New Year’s Eve… stayed at the thrird floor sweet. my room was all the way at the end of the hall way I don’t know why my rooms are always located so far… first stepping inside the room there was a kitchen and living with a jig size bed room… the king size bed room blankets was all disorganized I thought that was the weirded and the most disgusting thing ever… I never went to a room first time see all the sheets and covers all bunched in a ball… call the front desk to complain and ask for this issue to be fixed instead of getting new stuff or changing the room they just fixed the bed… not what I really wanted but whatever gotta make due… I thought it was pretty cool that there’s two television in the room… there’s a mini out door pool which is of cores closed… I like the service in this hotel… Every time I felt displeased in certain sutioms they try there best to resolve it… The king size bed was pretty comfortable the couch was so so… one thing I really didn’t like about the room was the always being low while I try to turn the heat up to 80 but won’t go up until three four hours… after waking up From the New Year’s Eve party… went down for morning breakfast… the breakfast was eight am to ten am… there wasn’t that many options which was really disappointing… The food was really tasteless and stale… but free I’d free… After breakfast I took a quick nap and woke up at three… Omg was I late for check out. But they didn’t complain for add money to my stay they gave an hour for me to departure… I was pretty pleased with that… yes there is parking… no vacate parking lol

Stay here for sure! Great place to stay. Rooms were huge, big comfy beds, pullout bed in the sofa, & awesome breakfast (even make your own waffles). Front desk was more than awesome even giving us extra shampoo, towels, popcorn with not a hard time. If that isn’t enough, you’re allowed to bring your dog.

While there’s an extremely friendly staff, it still can’t help this place from constantly falling short.
They completely botched our pre-​paid reservation booked a full month in advance, bumping us from an adjoining smoking suite into two separate non-​smoking rooms. Their excuse was flawed regardless ofhow apologetic and friendly the manager was about it. Room had a living space, full kitchen, spacious bath, and king bedroom with the furniture throughout feeling worn and dated, however comfortable. Of the two televisions in the room, one was broken and the cable was glitchy the entire time. The pool felt small and unsanitary. The snack shop was pitiful, feeling like a picked-​over, middle-​of-​nowhere gas station, and the option of going down the block to a convenient store was out of the question. There’s simply nothing around this hotel. They do offer to do your grocery shopping for you if you give them a list by noon — that would be helpful had we stayed longer. And its location in the middle of nowhere is just off the expressway, which could make it convenient if the roads weren’t built in such a way that requires you to make two u-​turns to access it.
One perk? Meal service. They offer nightly buffet-​style meals during the weekdays and a decent breakfast each morning. Nothing amazing, but its still nice to have.
A friendly staff like this one is usually able to still win me over in the face of all the snags, but the hits just kept coming and in a Hilton suites, you just expect more than this. Doesn’t feel like a Hilton at all.

Nice. everything was great.
The rooms are spacious with kitchens, separate bedroom and two flat screen TV’s.
The hot breakfast is actually very good and the evening light dinner with free beer and wine M-​Thur served as my dinner instead of eating out.
The staff was extremely accomodating and as the hotel was packed due to Hurricane Sandy folks who had been displaced everything went well.
The fitness center is actually a small closet type room with just 2 treadmills and an eliptical but they offer Free Bally’s Fitness access with a Room Key.
The location virtually requires a GPS — but makes it extremly quiet.
