I just recently got into bass fishing and thought it was time to get my own rod and reel. The workers there were very nice and polite. Alex helped me with selecting a new rod and reel. I told him that I’ve been fishing a shaky head and have been looking for other ways to fish for bass. He was very informative and showed me a couple of different lures that I could use for my next trip. It was nice that he didn’t overwhelm me with a bunch of different techniques. Alex also showed me how to rig it and fish it as well and gave me his input on what works for him. It is nice going into a shop that makes you feel comfortable doesn’t hassle you or pressure you into buying things. There is no doubt that I would highly recommend Coyote Bait and Tackle.

I have been going to Coyote Bait and Tackle since I was a toddler. This has always been our fishing gear pitstop anytime our family and I are heading out to fish the many waters in this region. It’s easy to go way over your intended budget when you shop here because their selection is always great, up to date and you can even find hard to find stuff. The staff’s knowledge is awesome and they’re always eager to swap fishing stories and angling tips. I have never had a bad experience at the shop. If you’re nice enough, they might even give you a heads up on a some good hush-hush fishing spots =). They have everything you need including an assortment of live bait(though I’m strictly a lure fisherman), local fishing reports, and snacks to ruin your diet, LOL!

This is a great place to get your gear, bait or friendly advice on tackle, technique and most importantly locations. The staff is very open about where the current bite is, these guys do not«sand bag» awesome fishing holes. I have augmented where I was going multiple times based on the feedback I got from them with great results.

Bass Pro who? Before you run down to the new Big Box tackle store, check out this local gem. The staff is knowledgeable and they are willing to solve your problem. They don’t push the expensive rod & reel combo or exotic lure. Even before walk out of that store you will either have(or know what you need) catch anything from bass to catfish to sea perch. Even the few college age kids at Coyote know their stuff. On my last visit, Paul helped me figure out what line, leader, and bait I needed for perch. Today, I caught more in four hours then I had in my last four trips. Prices are good too.

This place amazing! We are from New York and love to fish. We live in the Bay Area and were looking for a fishing/bait/tackle store that we could turn to for everything. I am a mom who wanted to take her son’s fishing, but I did not know where to fish, what to use and how to put it on. Denise, the owner, helped me with everything and even taught me how to do a fisherman’s knot, so when we lose our hooks(which we did), I could replace the hooks. I was amazed by this place because not only were they helpful, they have their«regulars» that come in and they talk with each other by first name and joke around. It was so warm. Definitely come here if you are into fishing!

I have been driving past this store for as long as I can remember and never stopped. Last Sunday, I made a special trip out there to check the place out based on other Unilocal reviews. WOW! What a great shop! Prices were good, they have a huge selection and best of all, the staff were super friendly and helpful. It goes a long way when you walk into a new shop and are greeted with a smile. I didn’t catch the clerk’s name(shame on me), but he was great. Asked if I needed help, didn’t bother me while I looked around the store and then was super cheerful when he was ringing me up. This is a great shop and well worth the drive for me. Just like Arnold… I’ll be back!

I’ve been coming hear since a kid. The staff is always friendly. If you have any question they are always willing to help. They carry a lot of the major brands but the best part is they support a lot of the locals as well. Check this place out if you are looking for new fishing gears.

Customer service is top notch every time I go here! The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Thank you to Alex and Andrew for helping us with all of our purchases yesterday! I bought my boyfriend a new fishing pole which ended up being 20% off because of their Memorial Day sale :)(score!) I’ve been here as early as 6am when the place is crawling with fishermen, and they always accommodate everyone accordingly. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for our pile worms and anchovies!

Best tackle shop I’ve ever been too. I drive an hour from Santa Cruz to shop here. Mainly due to the wonderful staff. Especially Micky. He has helped my fishing tremendously. This guy knows his shit, and is a really nice guy. The tackle selection at this place is awesome too. Great rod, reel, lure, accessories selection. It’s great to be able to find the lures that you would normally have to purchase online. This place has it all. I’m going to be a customer here for years to come.

This is a pretty decent fishing store, but it’s location makes it somewhat limiting. It is located on Monterey Highway between South San Jose and Morgan Hill. The gear they carry is primarily for trout and bass, which is what the surrounding lakes contain. I would not go out of my way to shop at this store, as there are others closer stores carrying the same selection. The only time I make it down there is during their Spring Sale when they have some exceptional buys. I found the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable.
