Got my transmission fixed in a day and Kyu the person in charge I believe is very helpful. He answered all my questions plus addressed me couple other things I should watch out for about my car. Also helped me threw in some free parts. Very glad I got my car fixed here. Great customer service and you can trust Kyu to get the work done. Thank you Green Transmission!

If you own a Honda or Acura this is the only place you should take your car for transmission service or repair. The owner is honest and does quality work at a great price. They really back the work they do.

Although I live in OC approx. 50 miles away from Covina, when my Accord transmission exhibited serious slipping and erratic behavior, I came to Green Transmission because:
1) I wanted a shop that specializes in Honda transmissions
2) I wanted to speak to someone who would be able to diagnose and explain what might be happening with my transmission
3) I wanted a transmission shop that could have a turn-​around time that was less than the three days the local shops were mostly saying it would take
4) I wanted an honest, fair price for what was looking to be an extremely costly repair
When I called Kyu, he took the time to get as much info about what the symptoms were that my car was exhibiting. He asked quite a few questions to try to pinpoint the problem. While he could not be certain without actually test driving the car himself and opening the transmission up, he provided me an analysis of what he thought the problem was, and an estimate of what the cost would likely be to rebuild the transmission using a master rebuild kit and replacing what he thought the other worn components might be.
When I dropped the car off at his shop he test drove it, honing in more on what he thought the problem was. He reaffirmed his earlier very reasonable estimate for a rebuild, and let me know what he suspected the failed parts might be. He then dropped me off at the local Enterprise rental car dealer that I had made arrangements with for alternate transportation that was just a couple of miles away.
Kyu regularly texted me updates when they opened up the transmission, letting me know of any parts that needed to be replaced. Kyu’s initial analysis turned out to be spot on…. There were a couple of extra parts that were needed at a cost was very reasonable, and the total cost was in line with the original estimate. In addition Kyu even installed a front axle that I had known for some time needed to be replaced, but at a cost much lower than what it would have cost me elsewhere.
Amazingly enough, in less than 24 hours after I had first dropped off the car, the rebuild job was done. Now that I have my car back, the transmission is operating great — like a new car. It was sure worth the drive from OC to find a shop that knows Honda transmissions — that has rebuilt and remanufactured scores of transmissions just like mine. They knew the weak points /​likely failure points of the transmission, and knew from experience the symptoms of failed components.

As far as the inconvenience of the shop being far from OC — it was a piece of cake. I dropped the car off, got a car rental from a Covina rental place, then in less than a day I dropped off the rental and drove away with my car with the rebuilt transmission (after a test drive with Kyu).
Of course, as with any repair only time will tell how the rebuilt transmission will fare over the long haul, but it is reassuring that they provided a 40,000 mile limited warranty to back up the repair. Considering the uncertainty I felt when facing a transmission repair, my experience with Green Transmission was awesome. If you own a Honda or Acura with a transmission that may need a rebuild, I highly recommend calling Green Transmission. It’s worth the trip to Covina to get it repaired by a transmission repair shop that has expertise and experience with Honda and Acura transmissions at a reasonable price.

My 02 Honda Odyssey transmission went out in San Diego after Christmas and had to get it towed to this shop. The best experience with any mechanic/​shop I have ever had. Kyu is just a genuine honest caring guy and really knows his field of profession and very professional. Very rare in this day of age but when you meet them, they make that much more of an impression. They worked on my car and had it done in a day. I can’t say enough about how awesome of an experience it was and just the peace of mind that you are cared for. Kyu even text me after picking up the car to see if I made it home ok.

Kyu still would text and see how the car is doing… I have recommended this shop to all my Honda driving relatives and would encourage anyone that might read this and looking for a reliable honest and affordable shop… don’t go any further because this is the shop! –Slammed/​dumped/​lowered car friendly!!! My car tucks 18″ wheels on ²¹⁵⁄₄₀ and I was NOT DENIED SERVICE!!!

–Not much of a lowered car friendly driveway, but that has nothing to do with my experience here at all

Current status:
Car drives AMAZING, still haven’t floored it, but the car shifts so smooth you barely feel it unlike before.

I went to this shop based on Unilocal recommendations and I was pleasantly surprised. The shop is run by Kyu who I think is the owner and someone who knows his stuff. He is very professional and knowledgeable. They rebuilt my 2001 Honda Accord tranny in one day and it runs like a top. Prices are very competitive. They warranty all work. I would definitely recommend this business if you have tranny problems. Oh yeah, they only work on Hondas and Acuras which makes them even more competent.

Just Excellent! Had a 03 Acura TL type S towed in, it was not drive-​able. It need a trans rebuild. Super quick turn around and stellar communication through out the process. 3k miles later and no issues to report.

Kyu (the owner) is the best Honda Acura mechanic. I did my transmission rebuilt back in March and cars is still running great. The job only took 1 full day. On top of great rebuilt, they also provided 40k miles warranty on their transmission work.
I also came back for power sterring pump, brake pads_​rotors and alternator replacement after my initial transmission rebuilt.
Kyu is very knowledgable, he tried to find the best part for very reasonable price for his customer. I would recommend Green Transmission for your Honda repairs.

First off this review is long overdue! I received the best of the best, «hands down «, service by taking my Acra TL 2006 to Kyu at Green Transmissions! My car began having issues in January 2014; slipped and gear shifting was rough. I would go to all these local mechanics and even my Acura dealership to try and diagnose what the root of cause was, BUT kept getting shady people trying to lure me in their shop by using fear tactics on me. I’m a single mom and use my car regularly for work in real estate, school, and other commuting needs.. basically use my car crazy to maintain my lifestyle. My car is everything to me and I don’t trust just any Joe working on my baby. However, after finding Kyu on Unilocal and reading his reviews, I decided to call him and inquire on service. Kyu is professional, courteous, patient and knowledgeable in his industry. In fact, many dealerships actually contact him to fix their customer issues. So I totally felt thankful and relieved to have found him and his staff. I made an appointment to go, and didn’t have a working car to get there, but Kyu got a tow truck service to bring it in. He kept the car for only 2 days and when I came to pick it up, he took the time to educate me on what they did, and showed me what the issues were. He provided a warranty and checked up on my car and me like a week after he fixed it. I love Green transmission and Kyu’s staff for helping me with my car and saving so much $$$$. Every other mechanic shop quoted $ 4k or more. So ridiculous! Since, he rebuilt my transmission last February 2014 I haven’t had a single problem. I’ll be returning to Kyu in couple weeks but for an inspection and to have my transmission fuel drained and filled. I can’t wait to see Kyu and his staff and can’t praise them enough! So if you need to invest in transmission rebuild or related issue, please trust me when I say don’t hesitate to call them. You’ll regret it if you go elsewhere!

my transmission still has problems (3^rd time since coming here). after the last time, Kyu said to only return if the transmission code comes back up. the last time i was here at Green Transmission, Kyu said he took my dash apart to check why the D4 light wasn’t working. what a coincidence that my check engine light and maintenance light were broken after the last time i took the car to him. i only found out after i took my car to my local mechanic to inspect it.
when i found out about the damaged lights, and existing codes, i texted Kyu to tell him about the problems, and he offered to just give me a full refund because «i don’t want to deal with you anymore.»

If you need to fix your Honda/​Acura transmission, this is THE PLACE TO GO! I initially found it on craigslist and then came to Unilocal for reviews. This place rebuilt my 2001 Honda Odyssey transmission within a day (amazing, think about the amount of work required) and installed an optional tranny cooler (highly recommended!). The transmission is shifting butter smooth, it literally feels like a new Honda again. No hesitation, no slipping, no check engine lights, no drama. Their work also includes a 40,000 miles, unlimited time, warranty!
Kyu is extremely knowledgeable and honest. I’m fairly mechanically savvy and I can tell that he is one of those detailed oriented «get it right the first time» kind of person. That’s the kind of specialist you want when you’re dealing with transmissions. He explained the parts that might need replacement (which made total sense, i had done some prior research online) and only replaced the parts that truly needed replacement. In other words, he’s extremely honest and doesn’t overcharge you for parts you don’t need. How rare is that nowadays. He also checked other things not directly related to the transmission at no charge and kindly informed me that my front rotors were pretty worn down (I didn’t know, shame on me), but didn’t push to sell me anything. He simply informed me.
The pricing was fantastic (as good as the other competitor on craigslist who had previously done other work in my Acura TL… it was okay, nowhere as good as Green Transmissions), but the quality of work here is absolutely outstanding.
The shop also does full flushes (9+ qts) for a rate similar to what dealerships charge for simply «drain and fill» (3 – 4 qts). I’ll definitely be back every 40−50k for the full flushes. The waiting room has a large comfortable sofa, vending machine, a racing game and is air conditioned; it’s a very good and clean waiting area.
This shop has earned my business for life.

Took my 04 civic in to have the transmission rebuilt. Kyu was very knowledgeable about everything that was wrong with my car. He assessed the problem and explained everything to me in detail. The rebuild took less than one day and the results are spectacular. Comes with a 40,000 mile warranty and a new friend in Kyu. Thanks for the help.

I read the reviews here on Unilocal and gave Green Transmissions a call when my transmission started slipping and Kyu was extremely helping right from the start. He educated me on what the problem in my transmission was after the free road test and he wasn’t pushy about getting my car in to get worked on. he wasn’t trying to push a sell and that is what attracted me most about the shop. My 2000 Honda Accord now runs perfect again and I have some comfort knowing I can go back to Kyu and Green Transmissions within the next 40,000 miles because of the great warranty they offer.
This place is a true 5 Stars… I highly recommend coming here.

After looking for many places to get my Honda’s transmission fixed I found Green Transmissions on Unilocal.At first I wasn’t too sure since I read a review which was pretty bad. Glad to say it was nothing like it! The owner Kyu was very friendly. He was able to take care of it sooner then I had expected. He did make me aware of how my mounts were worn out and one was totally broken that I remember. (I drive to far places and in LA there are a lot of holes on the road)
After I picked it up I had some issues with it because of some electrical issues the car was acting up. I went back and Kyu was very helpful he kept trying until he found what it was and got it fixed for me though it was not exactly what I had paid to get repaired he went and helped me. He pointed out the issues that my car has which are not related to the transmission but things that I need to look at and take care of as soon as I can. He mentioned he would do his best and that’s exactly what he did!

Great customer service and an unheard of warranty set Green Transmission above the rest, toss in the great prices and it’s all golden.
Kyu will show you a transmission and explain what he’s going to do, very thorough. He showed me parts that should have been replaced from a previous rebuild (which failed).
It’s great to get updates on the rebuild, Kyu sends you pics so you can see the progress and gets the job done FAST.
I’m almost thinking that any future car will be Honda/​Acura just because Kyu is a specialist, I don’t want my transmission to fail but I keep my cars forever so they will eventually have issues.

Had my 2002 Honda civic LX transmission rebuilt here. Quick turn around time and good quality work. I called 3 other shops and was quoted a lot higher and would take a lot longer to fix. So he definitely has the best prices in town! (Don’t waste your time calling other shops!) Another trustworthy quality about Kyu was he educates you and takes the time to break it down in laymen’s terms. If you’re like me, typical mechanics will use that car jargon which just adds on to stress and anxiety, but knowing the diagnosis and educating me through the processes of what the next steps should be really eases all the headache. He’s very honest and you can tell he’s not the type to rip you off. I can’t emphasize enough the EXCELLENT customer service!

Kyu, was very helpful and knowledgeable. He took the time to show me how the transmission worked and what the problem was with mine. The turn around time was 1 day and I had my car back.

Green Transmission is the place to go for all your mechanical needs. Kyu and his staff are extremely professional and courteous. Kyu has a wealth of knowledge and will spend the time to go over each and every detail your car demands. I came to GT needing a tranny but also ended up doing a timing belt job, front brakes and motor mount. All this work was done in 2 days!!!
Again, in 2 days. Most places will keep your car for a week. GT has a warranty of 40k on their tranny!!! Also unheard of. The warranty sincerely validates the workmanship of GT. Kyu goes above and beyond. Thank you again for your superb work.
