In addition to our superior vehicle repair services, we have also offer high-​end, certified used vehicle sales and price competitive auto parts store. Any vehicles we sell goes through a detail inspection, inside out. Every car that we sell is backed by our «turbo ted 30 day certified vehicle warranty». Our parts department primarily conducts business online, through our internet store. Whether you are looking for «original parts» or «after market parts», you will be happy with our quality and competitive price. Established in 1984.

Ted Chott has been a master mechanic, passionately working on cars and motorcycles for the last three decades. Ted opened his shop has served the Orange County community with professionalism and integrity ever since. Turbo Ted is a family owned and operated business. Ted works alongside his youngest son Matt and eldest son Teddy at the shop on a daily basis. An unwaivering commitment to serving their customers is what continues to grow their client family.

Rude
I’m not sure if he does good work or not but my initial contact with him says NO Way! Who answers a business phone saying «yeah»? After I asked if it was Turbo Ted
I told him I had a OBD scanner and didn’t know how to fix my car. You would assume a good mechanic would say «come on in and let’s find out what’s wrong with your car.» In his rude way He said he’s not in the business of being a diagnostic shop and that he would go out of business. He then said he would only work on my car if he could repair it. I usually don’t approve a repair before its diagnosed. Common sense right! He was very rude and demeaning in his tone. There is no way I would put my car in the hands of an uncaring mechanic. Imagine how he would talk to you! I hope he reads this and learns about customer service/​respect!

Honest shop. Was quoted a absurd amount by a nearby shop, Ted is honest about what it’s going to cost and will let you know if the matter is actually urgent or if you can wait to save up. I will definitely be returning to him.

Absolutely love this establishment, Ted and his son! After going to a competitor and getting an outrageous quote I stopped by Turbo Ted to get a second opinion.
They value honestly and after talking a bit I handed over the previous quote. Ted said ‘just because my son does good work doesn’t mean I’m going to charge you outrageous amounts for labor.’ He quoted it at half the price of the other place, had a worker run down to Sterling to pick up a part for my car and fixed it right then and there on a Friday afternoon so I could drive it over the weekend.
This shows how trusting they are. If they were anything but honest he could have quoted me a few hundred under what the other place did and still got my business. Instead they charged me what the work was worth and I am so appreciative of it!

I was referred to this shop couple of years ago and couldn’t be happier. Started out with oil changes and then mechanic work and I won’t go anywhere else! Not only is his work solid, but it’s honest. He’s like a warm, trustworthy uncle. I love that it’s a family-​owned business and that he works with his sons.
Quality work, fair pricing & he specializes in high-​end cars. I’ve taken a Mercedes, Range Rover, Jeep, and a mini to him and have never had a bad experience. I trust his judgment and advice. If you are tired of being scammed (hey ladies!) and getting crappy repair work then go see Turbo Ted– you won’t be disappointed!

I have been going to Ted for over a decade. And he’s worked on four of my cars, and maybe 15 of my friends cars. He has always done right by my friends and I. I have never walked away thinking I was overcharged. The thousands of cars he has worked on gives him the experience to diagnose and solve issues that other mechanics shake their head at. He’s my go to guy when I need anything fixed.

Ted is awesome. He knows the value of being honest. But he is also a friendly guy!
He will only tell you to fix what is necessary and beneficial for you. If isn’t worth it, he doesn’t recommend it.
I also bought a car from him for a good price and he has since done all work done on my car.

Just received a vehicle from this guys shop and he did a front brake job on it. He installed the disc brake pads backwards and caused the brake rotors to turn blue. Everyone is entitled to make a mistake but when I pointed it out to him he became arrogant and didn’t want to hear it. Is this the kind of shop you want to work on your car?

I have bought two cars from him and he repairs all 5 of our cars — we have three kids over 16. We now have 5 cars w/​75k — 200k plus miles and I feel confident in all of them b/​c of Ted.

WOW!!! These guys are awesome. I was fully prepared to drop $ 1800 on a new steering rack, :(I got a call while doing some charity work and it was TED telling me that I didn’t need a whole new steering rack but just some lower control arm bushings. I do a lot of my own work on my car so having to handover $$$$ for a new steering rack was not exciting. So the money I saved I was able to purchase new tires from a shop Ted recommended to me, which was much needed. The best part was if I replaced the steering rack it would not have fixed the problem. I will be using TED for all my BMW needs! Thanks TED. Love keeping it local.

I work for an Infiniti dealership and Turbo Ted will be our go to guy for all of our european cars.
I took my Boxster to Ted for a strange electrical issue. Not only did he fix it right on the first try, we was incredibly fair about the price. If you own a Porsche, you know that usually any little problem will cost a fortune. Ted has been great.

I found out that Turbo Ted services vehicles for several local European car dealers. I also read great reviews for Turbo Ted on BMW forums so I decided to take my E60 here when it needed the brake fluid flush.
This is by far the best BMW mechanic in OC.
It was 100x better than going to the dealer for service.
Turbo Ted was honest, knowledgeable, and informative. He isn’t out to scam customers or recommend services just to make an extra buck.
The prices are very reasonable. I made an appointment and was done within an hour. He’s not like your typical dealership, and he doesn’t bill customers for extra labor hours when the service only took 30 minutes.
