I have used Tina for years and have never been disappointed. Tina’s is by far the best alterations place I have ever used. She is speedy, her work is solid and lasts, and is budget friendly. She has worked miracles for me.

I’ve been here three times now since moving to Costa Mesa and I absolutely love this spot. Quick, friendly, quality service.
Anecdote of my most recent experience: so I FINALLY found the perfect maxi dress to wear to a bridal shower THE DAY BEFORE the party! Of course it was about 6 inches too long (I’m 5’1, maxi dresses are a rare find), so I was super stressed about getting it hemmed in time. Luckily I dropped into Tina’s at 3pm, and she readily agreed it would be ready by 6pm the same day– such a lifesaver!
This spot makes me unafraid to purchase clothing that is too long or doesn’t fit quite right– I trust that Tina and her team will be able to make anything look great!

I’ve been a customer for over 10 years. From hemming my bridesmaids’ dresses to now repairing school uniforms for my daughters, Tina’s prices are always fair for high quality workmanship. Don’t bother with shopping around for another tailor if you’re spending your own money. But don’t come if you need a phone call to remind you to pick up your clothes: it’ll be ready as promised.

Tina is awesome, best value tailor you will find.

Tina has helped me in a pinch twice now. She’s great, super friendly, very welcoming and works efficiently — and her prices are great too! I’m so excited to have found this place!

UPDATE: My alteration issue was resolved by Tina and especially by her very wise daughter, who understands customer service better than her mother. I truly wish Tina had resolved the problem before it went too far as she lost two longtime customers. Hopefully, she has learned to listen to the needs and concerns of her clients. Yes, I am satisfied with the resolution. Yes, Tina is a very good tailor. Her daughter was extraordinary in negotiating a fair resolution and conclusion to my problem. I wish those of you who use her services well and may she be fair in her customer service and dealings with you.

I called Tina on a Friday afternoon at 3pm and needed a pair of jeans hemmed. She told me to come in and should would do them on the spot for me as I was leaving out of town in an hour. Talk about great service! Super nice!

Tina altered my bridesmaids dress for my brothers wedding, and she did a great job! I needed hemming on layers of chiffon, and I needed the top taken in a lot (let’s just say, most bridesmaids dresses show a little cleavage, of which I have none). Sometimes people don’t understand my plight and end up making things worse for me in the boob area. But Tina knew just how to fix it to flatter my form.
I also have to note, the service is amazing. She obviously knows what it takes to run a shop that relies on repeat business. Alterations were quick, AFFORDABLE, and well done.

Tina has excellent taste. She not only alters clothing, she will tell you when you need to return the garment-​that it just doesn’t fit correctly.
I trust her implicitly.

Tina did a great job hemming up my pants last minute on a weekend before a big interview. Same day temporary alteration that looked great.

This place has gone downhill. The quality of the work is poor and not worth the price you pay. They butchered my beautiful jeans. I am very upset. I will definitely Not return here and I will take my business elsewhere!

Tina does all my alterations. I’ve been going to Tina for years. She’s fast, very reasonable, and high quality. I most recently had three suits altered (jacket and pant waist, hemming). Looking good!

I came to Tina’s based off of Unilocal reviews and couldn’t be happier with that decision! Had to get a bridesmaid dress altered and as soon as I walked in, they had me out the dress on, pinned me, and I was out of there in 5 – 10 minutes. Two weeks later the dress was ready and fit like a glove! Reasonably priced too. Will definitely return if I need anything else altered!

Been to Tina’s a couple times now and this last one was a horrible experience. Need two pants for young boys hemmed for a wedding. She told me it would be over a week and I told her we were leaving for a wedding that next Thursday (a week away) and she said ok, they will be ready then. I show up the following Thursday to a not out side saying they are closed that week and will resume normal hours on Friday. She never mentioned that to me and we had to now leave Friday instead of the planned night before. 1 star customer service and then offered nothing to me when paying for the inconvenience.

I’d been going to Tina for a couple of years and she’s done a great job with all the clothes I’ve brought to her; and she always has then done on the day she’s promised. Like a few people have said, her pricing is a little high, which is OK if you have some nice high-​end clothes. I just used her to hem my work slacks, jeans, and some casual pants, so for me, the price outweighed the benefits of her service (again, her workmanship is great).
So why only 3 stars? Well, I didn’t feel I got the same level of service from her that she gave to other people. I was rushed in and out of the place as fast as possible while she chit-​chatted with other people, and this happened more often than not. I guess it wouldn’t bother me much of I just went there a couple of times, but I went in there a lot over a 2 year period. She does cater to a certain type of Newport/​CM crowd that I don’t belong to, so maybe that was it.
The last time I went in she refused to take measurements for my fiancé, which I thought was odd because I’ve seen her do it for other ladies while I was there. We were trying to get a wedding dress ordered and she said she doesn’t do wedding dresses so she can’t do the measurements.
Well that was it for me, I’ve been going to Be’s Perfect Alteration since then and she has been great, at a much better price (plus she did a great job on that wedding dress).

I can’t speak for her alterations skills because I didn’t come in to get anything tailored, however, I came in to get measurements done for a wedding I’m going to be in. She refused to take my measurements down and said that she doesn’t do them. I used to work at a tuxedo rental shop and it’s part of the tailor’s code that measurements are free and always complimentary. I came here based on everyone’s Unilocal reviews that she was a nice lady and knew what she was doing. I was disappointed that I was turned away for something so simple.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and I’m always delighted with the quality and level of service. I’ve tried a couple other places over the years (ones closer to where I live thinking it might save me time) and I always regret straying. Now, I drive the extra distance because, at Tina’s, the outcome is always exactly what I expect and the work is far superior to what I have experienced at other tailors.
I noticed a few of the other reviews complaining about the cost being a bit on the high side, but in my opinion, if you have nice clothes and care about the level of workmanship, then you should expect to pay a little more. Especially if you have an outfit for a special occasion and don’t have time for mistakes. I’ve taken some very expensive dresses to other tailors and have gotten them back in unwearable condition. I will only go to Tina’s from now on because they consistently do very good work.

Although it took two tries to get my David’s Bridal bridesmaid dress right, I always felt like I was taken care of by Tina and made to feel like my dress would turn out just perfect. It did and I had it in plenty of time for the wedding.
It cost a little more than I would have wanted and a few stitches on a couple of the pleats she made came apart when I bent over but in the end, I was just glad to have a better fitting dress than I started with.

Got the new jeans hemmed, with the original hem saved. The were done on time and with excellent quality.

I came in here with three pairs of pants for hemming and one pair to be taken in. The latter was quoted at $ 40, which is probably twice what I paid for them at TJ Maxx, so I declined. ;-)
However, the three pairs I had hemmed were done so very well and for only $ 12/​pair ($ 15/​pair if there is lining).
Tina and her husband are very sweet, and the process (unless someone’s ahead of you), is very fast from changing to pinning to check out. Only took a week to get my pants back.
