This place is OCs best kept secret for all things Vinyl. Wax on stacks from floor to ceiling. So packed with new and used records it’s hard to even move if you’re in there with more than one person. These are all good things! They have plenty of rarities too and the owner is super knowledgable.

What an awesome little record shop and I mean little! This place is tiny and hard to find, but so worth the hunt.
They have new, used, and obscure popular. I particularly like the bargain bins out front found some gems for cheap! The albums were actually in the order they were supposed to be in and the specification on albums were clearly labeled.
I will totally be going back.

I can’t stress enough how awesome Factory Records, Dave, or anyone associated with the shop is. My bedroom is probably bigger than the establishment but man it is packed to the ceiling with thousands of records. Personally I come for old jazz, foreign, soundtracks, and just weird, hard-​to-​find records in general. But Factory Records does regularly stock the good classic rock and modern vinyl for all sorts of vinyl collectors. I am quite aware that I can just order my records on discogs for probably ¾ of the price but the greatest thing about this record store is the experience in and of itself as well as the help the staff provides. On slow days, Dave and Co. regularly help me find records that suit my taste, they’ll join me in digging and play records on the store’s table to confirm that it’s something I like. Also, follow Factory Records on Facebook and Instagram, you won’t regret it!

Tiny but filled with so many great records both new and used and of many genres. Organized well which makes digging less tedious. What Dave does not have he can order for you. And if you follow them on Instagram or Facebook you will see when he is having sales and special events.
It can be tricky finding them. Look for the bar «WILD GOOSE» and pull into the parking lot behind the bar. You will find Factory Records just near the bar … A hidden gem!

This place is ok. A little hard to find, the first time we went. We didnt realize the store was behind the strip of shops and passed it once.
I personally didnt really see anything I was looking for when I had visited. A lot of older, used records mostly and some rare pieces. The prices were a little steep as well. Almost everything i had seen was currently on Amazon for significantly less and isnt used.

Previous review needs clarification: high prices on USED merch. Factory’s pricing on new stuff is extremely competitive.

A decent selection at reasonable prices. I always find at least a few records to get excited over. Definitely worth checking out. The owner is pretty cool too. Just be sure to call to confirm the store is open because it closes early sometimes.

Well one thing’s for sure, it’s the cheapest place I’ve found to get paper inner sleeves. Previously, it appears the young buck holding it down for Dave sold me new sleeves for the price of used stock (which this time around were all battered and stained from decades of the acid in the paper doing its work). Used ones of this variety for the desperate are 5 cents/​ea. I bought 200 new ones in December at the highway robbery price, not knowing they would all be gone in short order and I would need more as I cleaned my collection.
The proper price it seems, which I paid yesterday, is 15 cents for a new one; these at least have the rounded corners (last year’s new ones were square cut), making it easier to slide in the jacket. I took the last 170 they had and am tearing through them now as I continue cleaning. A lady walking in thought it was cool they sold sleeves by themselves (only to hear I got them all).
As to the vinyl itself, they have a good collection there, but it seems the prices reflect the locale; these aren’t antiques and shouldn’t ALWAYS be priced as such; the exception being the world famous bargain bins in the front (which I found 3 keepers in this time).
I would be glad to drop a little coin for some good pieces inside, but everything it seems is what I could go buy the CD for (I understand and routinely make the argument for vinyl, but the sad reality is if I can get a new copy for less than this unknown used copy which isn’t graded, it’ll lose almost every time). I imagine in this place are tons of rare pieces which just need to be found (the place is so small it’s overwhelming to try and find things with it busting at the seems with no wiggle room).

It’s good to see him back, Noise Noise Noise was THE place to go for any real music junkie (if you knew what day New Releases were, then you qualified as a junkie).
This is where I bought my Ninja Tune sweatshirt — only place in OC that even knew who Ninja Tune was at the time.
To this day, Dave is one of the few music people I not only respect opinion-​wise as far as music goes, but also my go-​to guy for anything no one else has heard of — not because he can get anything, but because he’s no Comic Book Guy; no snotty attitude, like some other places in OC I could mention but won’t.
As far as selling records to him goes, if you have good taste in music, Dave will know — and not only does he give you a fair price (hey, c’mon, you want $ 20 for your Eagles LP? Gimme a break — there’s a reason you see them everywhere, they sold millions, duh.) But if you have Blue Note, Riverside, Bear Family, old 80’s/90’s or late 90’s presses, even early 2000’s, you probably have something Dave’s interested in and will give you a fair price for to avoid the nightmare hassle of ebay or discog (or worse, reddit) — you won’t make what you would have online, but you know what? You won’t have the hassle either, plus, you’re helping Factory and other music nuts like me — you know what they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. And maybe he will give you something for that Eagles LP — assuming you didn’t scratch and put it in a plastic outer sleeve — like, you cherished it knowing it was worth something, right? No? Then you get bupkis pally.
And yes, his discount bin is awesome — picked up some nice obscure Record Day presses no one else but me and maybe 100 other people in the world give a damn about.

I LOVE this place and their cheap o bins! I found lots of cool stuff that had me super excited. They also had a good amount of 7″ records for 23 cents which was an amazing find because I needed them for an art project. We went in for a quick look at this place and walked away with a bag full of records and 92 bucks poorer. Love it. I live in the Inland Empire and will be coming back again for sure.

Over priced vinyl with records you can’t get to because the place is so small. The guy working there had the worst customer service I’ve ever had and I go to many used vinyl stores and spend a lot of cash where the customer service is much better. A lot of the vinyl I noticed was scratched and not taken care of. Don’t go looking through boxes that he has not marked yet because he will have a fit. Never have I experienced such bad service. I left a few items behind after I noticed what a rip off this store is. Try Burger Records in Fullerton. Much better service and better prices for vinyl. Run… Don’t walk.

If you love music or Star Wars, Factory Records is perfect. Dave is a great person, fun to talk to. He’s definitely a hot spot for Record Store Day. One of my personal favorites. Also, people seem to complain about the space, but I think it’s cozy and more personal.

One of the best vinyl stores in the OC for sure! Dave is the fucking best! They got tons of killer records and they are always willing to hook it up with a fair price! Watch out for the sign off 17^th street cause the driveway can be hard to miss but the store is way worth the U turn! Do your music collection a favor and shop here!

Great record store. I remember Dave when he ran Noise Noise Noise years ago. Factory has an excellent selection of vinyl both new and old, it has an eclectic inventory, something that’s missing in most stores.
There is an amazing selection of Jazz, Krautrock, experimental etc, etc.
The store carries original pressings of vinyl that I’ve been searching for years. It’s a crowded shop but I much prefer shopping here than at larger stores such as Amoeba.
The prices are reasonable, and Dave is a cool guy with a wide knowledge of music.

Factory Records is a hidden gem. I have been buying records from Dave for over two decades (since the days of Noise Noise Noise). Factory has a lot of options for vinyl newcomers, like a ton of new releases and classic staples, but the store really thrives with rarities and Dave’s carefully curated bins. Music lovers can genuinely find everything from dub and kosmische to soundtracks and minimal synth records.
Factory records is always the first store I hit when I’m looking for something new.

For those lucky enough to remember the old school days of shopping for records when vinyl was the only media available (besides 8-​track), this place will be nostalgic. An extension or noise, noise, noise, located next to the now gone Kona Lanes. Where else could you get a black flag album, some heroine and hooked for the night?!
Anyhow…I digress.
So Dave the owner is awesome. Well versed, comedic and pleasant to deal with (almost too pleasant for a record shop owner). He doesn’t have the hipster «too facing cool» attitude associated with so many shops these days.
What ever you are looking for he has. If he doesn’t you are either looking for records that are super hard to find or you just don’t need it that bad. Jazz section is good, funk section is phat, metal, punk, indie, goth, prog… he’s got it all. Dave don’t descriminate.
Check out the box of stickers… you will trip. Buttons and pins too.
The best part is… The clothes. I have bought many cool, unique shirts here. Do yourself a favor and buy a factory records hoodie! They are like 25 bucks (cheap as most t-​shirts).

Factory Records is a solid 5 stars and their prices are very fair. This place is twice the record store with half the square footage of other stores in the area. The store (in one form or another) has been in the area decades and Dave, the owner makes sure the shelves are stacked with quality originals rather than re-​issue.
If you decide to visit, please be sure to brush up on your parking skills. Cavalier parking usually ends with a good lashing via the owner’s active social media.

The only reason I’d be even mildly tempted to give this spot 4 stars is because it is so damn small. You know how sometimes people will say a place is small, but once you arrive you find it’s really not as tiny as imagined? Well, Factory Records is really that tiny. If there are five people browsing inside, the sixth one to walk up would have to wait at the door until someone finishes. This isn’t even to mention the landmines in the form of overflow records that are stacked and lined along the floor. Navigation is a nimble art here.
That aside, the selection is a beast. I found some amazing gems here, and the best part of that everything is reasonably priced. Dave doesn’t just price all the rarities high across the board with little variance; everything I bought was priced at what I was willing to pay, with a couple so low I would have paid double (shhh!) just to own them. I can only imagine what kind of treasures could be found if this were a larger location and Dave could put out all the LPs he has for sale. I’ve heard it’s a considerable amount. At the least, it means that not every gem he possesses resides in here just yet, making repeat visits a necessity.
Just try to show up when it’s slow.
