Sears Optical

Wow. Talk about customer service. This office is pretty much tucked away on the first floor of Sears and I wish it had more foot traffic, as their customer service rocks! I came here to see if someone could help me straighten out my sunglasses. I did not need an eye exam (lasik) and a drop in visit to this office turned into a 25 minute conversation with the West Coast Regional Sales Director and her love of the company. Plus the fact that the regional sales manager was the one who helped me straighten out my sunglasses and did it with so much enthusiasm, I wish I needed an eye exam. Even being tucked away, they were quite busy and it looked like the customers there have been coming there for a long time. This is the place to turn too for anyone in the area that needs eye exams/​glasses/​contacts etc. Thanks Marcie and Claudia! I’ll be coming here when I need an exam!

I liked the place but the optometrist that helped me was not helpful. When I asked her to let me see an option again to see better she got annoyed and told me «let’s just keep going»
I said, «excuse me, you’re not gonna give me the wrong prescription»
Not going back. She was a tiny Asian young lady. Not very nice.

I came here to order glasses since I already had my prescription on file with this Sears. Although I wished they had a wider selection of glasses to choose from, I was appreciative that they had affordable, cute glasses. A+ customer service when I was there! The young lady who assisted me was so helpful, friendly, and efficient! Right away, she looked at my health insurance plan, called for verification, and was able to give me a price estimate on how much I would need to pay if I got a particular frame. Further, another employee offer his help. so it was refreshing to see excellent service from front and back workers! I was in and out in no time and left a very happy and satisfied customer. I will definitely come back to this location in the future! Note, call in ahead of time to check if they are on lunch as I came in during their lunch time& had to kill an hour.

I have to give a shout out to the Optical Department at Sears Costa Mesa. When I did a friend a favor and went in to pick up his new glasses, I was told by the Sears Optical employee Cynthia that she felt the lab could do better with the thick unpolished lenses and so the order was being re-​submitted and would be ready in two weeks. In the meantime my friend was to use the first new pair which I was there to pickup until the replacement was ready for exchange. The other employee Armondo was equally positive and helpful. My friend took one look at the glasses and completely agreed with their decision. He was totally appreciative of the efforts these two employees were making on his behalf. Now that’s service with a smile and puts Sears a notch up in my book.

I have been a patient of Dr Mohebi for about 8 years and his service/​professionalism has always been excellent. He cares so much about his patients and is an excellent doctor. His staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable.
His new office is great! He’s the best.

Sears told me about the lens replacement program when I purchased my glasses almost a year ago. If the lenses became scratched they would replace them for $ 25. Even though they were scratch resistant and I took care of them, they became scratched anyway. I wasn’t sure when the year was up so I stopped in last weekend to check.
I made it with 3 weeks to spare. I began to show her how scratched my sunglasses lenses were, but just looked me up on the computer. She said it would cost $ 25. Would I have to give up my glasses? No. She would call me when they came in. They would replace the lenses in the store.
I thought the replacement program would be discounted new glasses. I was prepared to be disappointed and instead I was thrilled! I splurged and ordered new lenses for my second pair, even though they were only slightly scratched.
Only at the cash register did I get frustrated. «Would you like an e-​receipt or a paper AND e-​receipt?» Where is the option to have a paper receipt with NO e-​receipt? For that you have to void the sale and start over. That’s just silly Sears. Maybe I just don’t want any of your emails.
We will keep buying our glasses there though, for as long as the doors are open. And try to remember to request a paper receipt only before I get to the cash register.

Really happy with the service Dr Mohebi is the best. I’ve done too many orthodonics and this is by far my favorite office always happy with the service and the great advice

Quick, clean, and knowledgeable. It was super easy to make an appointment and the exam was fast. They had process down – I was quickly walked through the initial tests, then taken to the exam room. The doctor examined my eyes, gave me advice, wrote me a prescription, and I was out the door faster than with any other optometrist I’ve seen before. It was fantastic. The office is somewhat hard to find… it’s downstairs in Sears, through the tool department. But now that I figured out where it is, I will be back.

Great Service in and out quickly. Dr. Mohebbi is a great doctor and has your best interest in mind.

When I started wearing glasses 10 years ago, I went to an optometrist in the list of the network for health benefit.
Once I realized it was more expensive even with a plan, I started to use Lens Crafters, and I was not happy with the service and the quality over all. But since it’s «reasonable» I kept using them for 8 years.
Now the luck has turned to my favor. 2 weeks ago, I went to my usual Lens Crafter to have an eye exam and a pair of new glasses (even I was not happy, I was still very loyal wasn’t I). The place was empty during lunch hour. But the 2 person who were working told me that the optometrist has gone for lunch, they are very busy and fully booked, if I can make an appointment for the next day, I told them I need them to squeese me in for today as I will have to work tomorrow, they told me that was not possible, and asked me to come back in 3 days. I told them I will give them a call.
From this Lens Crafter, I drove straight to Sears in South Coast Plaza to check the Optical department since it was very close to where I was. There was a customer but the optometrist Dr Ali Mohebbi with great courtesy offered the help, took my info, and started an eye exam without any issue. He also explained that at the moment Sears has an incredible special offer which any prescribed glasses will cost $ 199 including lens and frame, and he highly recommend as it will be so much cheaper than my plan (which I was supposed to have 20% off on the whole bill).
Once I was done with the exam, Dr Mohebbi took me to the main room and introduced me to Judy, who will be helping me with the rest.
Judy was very nice with great knowledge. After so many years wearing glasses bought at other places, this was the first time, someone truly helped me explaining all the pros and cons when choosing a glass frame. I was amazed how a good service at an optical place supposed to be.
I am so happy with Sears Optical at South Coast Plaza that I am determined to spread the words to all my friends and families, and I would like everyone here at Unilocal to know too
By paying expensive at a fancy optical place, or even paying a reasonable price at the very well known place like Lens Crafter, doesn’t mean that you have your money well spent. At last, I think Sears Optical in this particular South Coast Plaza location is the place where I feel like welcome, at home, and my money was well spent here…
