Byron is one of a kind. I called Ford first to get help for my escape but they were less than enthusiastic and wouldn’t even guess what the issue was. Byron was upfront, eager to help, and one of the nicest guys ice met in a long time.
Call these guys first. They have my compete trust. BTW: I was able to get my regulator and motor for my window replaced same day and for much less than ford. I saved in a rental because of that.

Byron at Performance Auto truly deserves every one of his 5-​star reviews. I called him for an estimate on work to be done and he gave me a quick one. Prices were reasonable, but he told me to bring my truck in so he could check everything out and give me a more straight up quote. When I brought my truck in he did visual checks on everything and explained to me what did & didn’t need to be done and quoted a fair price. Luckily he is open on Saturdays, just call to make an appointment first. I brought my truck in first thing and it was done when he said it would be. It’s nice to find an honest mechanic who communicates with his customers rather than doing $ 100 of extra work and telling you when it comes time to pay. I plan on taking my wife’s car in soon and will probably do so into the future.

I too feel I need more stars to review this shop. The owner does most of the complex work and you get the car when promised and no run around on the agreed price. Byron is as honest as there is in this business. I had a quote for over $ 2000 for a repair which he did for less than half the price. All the work is guaranteed and so far I have never needed to go back. I am even torn by giving this report because I don’t want to share. I am hard to please when it comes to car repairs. I NEVER go to the dealer

Byron is the best! Was referred to him by a friend and he has been nothing but extremely PATIENT with me and my Audi A4. I have been taking my car there for two years now and he always is upfront and honest with me. I will continue taking my car there and would refer anyone to him. Hard to find an honest mechanic, but I definitely did with Byron.

Took our 2012 Jetta Sportwagen into Byron at Performance for transmission service and new brakes. Bryon did a great job, getting it all completed in one day with excellent customer service and great prices!

Byron is the man. I needed a transmission service, new brake pads and a pair of windshield wipers and he took care of it all. A man of his word, he stuck to his original quote even though the transmission fluid was more expensive than anticipated — which he even went through the trouble to get shipped in that same day so I could get my car back sooner. He’s honest, very likable and easy to talk to. I trust him and I’ll certainly be back for his service again. I rarely post on Unilocal,but he is well-​deserving.

Brought my new VW Golf R in last minute on a Saturday with an engine light on. Byron diagnosed it quickly, did a minor tweak, and I was on my way… I really appreciated the customer service knowing that he was so busy that day… Would highly recommend.

Honestly…I wish they had more stars. The reviews and Tips are definitely on point. I’m not gonna lie and tell you I thought it was to good to be true or question if he asked his friends and family to write reviews, but man was I wrong. Byron is not only legit mechanic and he does things very precise, he truly wants to help and make your experience worth while. He keeps it real. He will tell you if you should or shouldn’t and his prices are very very reasonable. This is how cool this dude is, so i called him scheduling the day and time I should drop off my car. Well, I showed up 5hrs late and he had other vehicles waiting. I needed him to instal l my springs, mid pipe, and Roush exhaust. Clearly it was my mistake and he could’ve made me wait when he was available, but Wow,!!! Out of nowhere he calls me an hour be4 he closes and tells me my car is done. I guess he saw that I needed this done and understood my ride situation. But regardless he’s a cool dude. I’m a complete motor head and my past experiences with auto shops r never good. They start off great, but most are like Car Salesmen. They act like they care and they want to help you find that car, but in the end they just wanna hear make and model, extra packages, and commission, and in the end you get a Lemon or you tricked a money pit.
worst of all… with my experience they just pretend to listen and act like they know what they r doing and usually when they mess up, they act like they can fix the problem but instead 1 becomes another and the price you thought was good just cost you way more than you ever asked for. Auto shops screwed me and performance shops have, if there was ever a Unilocal back than. I would put quite a few of them on blast and tell them how I truly feel. To be honest with you guys… I’m glad I gave him a chance and I’m very appreciative of the care he puts into my car. No, Doubt! I will be back and To all my Unilocal friends, if you or any1 has a problem or needs something done with a car, truck, or SUV go to Byron or Give him a call he’s there and willing to assist you and if he can’t, he will point you in the right direction who he trusts and goes to.

Byron was awesome! One of the windows on my 2006 Acura MDX would not roll up. We were in a bind and needed it fixed fast! Just from describing the problem over the phone Byron let me know what the problem most likely was and how much it would probably cost. I took the car in and he got to working on it right away, figured out that it was exactly what he thought it was, and fixed the window in a few hours. The price I paid was exactly what he quoted me over the phone, unlike most mechanics where they always find a way to charge more than the original quote. I hate going to mechanics because I feel like I never have a good experience, however I had a great experience here. I will definitely be back.

I found this place based on other reviews. This is truly a five star shop all the way around. Byron was not only extremely knowledgable but very friendly. His prices are legit. My car now has a permenant auto mechanic and I couldn’t be happier.

Honest, Great Communication, Best Price!
I called nearly 20 shops in the area to get their labor rates and job quotes, Byron not only had one of the lowest hourly rates but his quote was unbeatable. Unlike most other shops that will quote you a flat rate based on what the book says, Byron quotes you the cost of the job based on the time HE believes it will take, that means a lot to me. He’s not looking to squeeze every dollar out of you, that level of honesty and integrity is hard to find in this type of service.
Call Byron before you call anyone else, he really is hard to beat and I recommend him to all my friends! May God bless you :)

I have been having my 4runner serviced here for at least 6 years. Friendly, knowledgable and honest mechanic. I lives right by it for a long time but now I live 30 min away and I refuse to see any other mechanic and i don’t hesitate to make the drive. I would highly recommend.

Called Byron and stopped by about a warning I was getting on my car. He hooked it up to the machine tester thingy and gave me the result of no problem and didn’t even charge me the $ 20 he quoted me on the phone. Such a nice guy. If I ever have any issue with my car, he will be the first one I call!!!

Since being fifteen years old, twenty years ago, I’ve always done my own auto and mechanical work, but sometimes there are tasks that I just don’t have time or patience for.
A few years ago I encountered one of these problems and I thought «Damn, I don’t know a single mechanic!» So, the internet, personal recommendations and a handful of conversations over the phone with different shops lead me to Performance Auto Service.
Ended up talking with the owner before and after the work was done and he even recommended no additional work. The engine was a 1977 AMC 360 and he could’ve thrown the book at me if he wanted, but he was sincere and honest.
This was four years ago.
Today, I was looking up machine shops and I’m going to give him a call to get an overhaul for one of my cars because if I’m not going to do it, he is!

I’ve been to Performance twice now and I honestly won’t go to anyone else for mechanical repairs. The owner Byron and his staff are true professionals, honest and don’t try to up-​sell you. Customer for life!

It’s always hard to find honest mechanics so I was so relieved that this shop was HONEST!!!
The owner Byron took in my car and worked on it for a couple days trying to figure out the problem. (It had shut off while driving). It took a couple days to fix because my cars computer system wouldn’t send out the engine codes to diagnose.
So byron had to check things one by one until the car would drive without shutting off. But it got done! And he didn’t charge me extra for all the other work that didn’t fix the issue.
I knew I picked the right place when he called me about a part I told him I needed to replace. The 2 previous mechanics I went to wanted to charge me double what the part cost at AutoZone store. Byron quoted me the exact price, no markup.
I’ll definitely be back to this shop if my car has any more issues. I highly recommend you come here too! Thanks!

My dad owns an Auto repair shop back in NJ so he always gives me an estimate on how much things should cost so I don’t get ripped off. Byron quoted me exactly what my dad said would be fair. This will be my go to place for any auto repairs.
