Mike’s TV Big Screen Service Center

I called Mike to have him come out and diagnose our 2012 Sony Bravia TV. When Mike came, he didn’t even know to look for the energy saving button, he tested the Tv power port and told us that G1 and G12 ports are broken and needed replacement and that each of them would cost about $ 350 each to repair and that he would need to order it. While he was at our house, he told me that he has been in the business for 19 years and that he took the business over from his father. I paid him $ 75 for diagnostic, which he never gave me a receipt for. We later found out that the TV had an energy saving button on the side, which can be turned off and it will cut power completely from your TV. If you have a Sony TV, I wouldn’t recommend using this company, unless you want to pay money to someone who can’t diagnose your TV correctly.

Mike came out to repair our JVC, he was very professional and knew exactly what was wrong. We had had other people out to look at the TV (best buy), they weren’t sure of the problem. Mike was great, friendly and clean. He even returned the TV on a Saturday. His charges were reasonable. We would highly recommend his television repair.

I like Mike’s. Our 46″ Samsung was turning itself «off» and then after a goodly wait, back «on.» First response, consult the interweb, where everything from new batteries in the remote (tried it, told Mike, it took him a while to stop laughing) to download a bunch of code and conduct a software/​firmware update (right…) was proscribed as the fix. Well that and «your TV is kaput buy a new one.» The decision to consult a professional found me Unilocaling and a simple phone call had an appointment (house call) scheduled for the next day with the $ 75 fee mentioned, which was rolled into the final bill of $ 275.
It took Mike about one hour to diagnose AND FIX the troublesome circuit. The off/​on cycle has ceased. The TV runs just fine. We’re happy. Oh, Mike and I had a wonderful wide ranging talk while he fixed the set. He had some very entertaining stories about the «one star» reviewers… oh my.

I have a Samsung TV that had a program where it wouldn’t turn on. It’s kind old, but I thought it was worth getting it checked out. I brought into Mike’s TV. He gave me a estimate and said he would call me the next day. He called me as he said he would and told me what was wrong and gave me an estimate. I said to go ahead, it’s was a fair and reasonable price. He said it would be done the next day. I went to pick it up the next day and the price was exactly what he said it was. The TV works great. Thank you Mike’s TV.

Mike came out and saved our Samsung DLP 56″ TV. I would highly recommend Mike for any TV repairs or installations. He was at our house promptly and found the issue very quickly. I thought for sure our TV was due for the bone yard, but NO, it was repaired like new.

I called Mike on Friday at 1230pm and he committed to seeing me between 4−6pm the same day. He arrived at 5pm to trouble shoot and fix my 60″ Samsung Plasma TV. He spent about 20 minutes to diagnose the issue and about 15 minutes later had it fixed and the TV buttoned back up. Before he left he made sure everything was working! Guess what he called me the next day to make sure everything was still good! Now that’s what I call Customer Satisfaction. Mike is a very nice man and knows his business. I highly recommend his service!

Mike came to my home a little late but fixed the TV’s problem for a reasonable price. Very pleasant man.

Worst with communicating to the customers!!! Won’t even call me back correctly to drop off my tv I’ve tried dropping it off twice an both times no one was there. I call and no ones there I email it takes them two days to even get back to you.

We called mike to come look at out big tv something was wrong with the sound mike looked at it and was able to tell what was wrong with the tv sound we talked about our options and with his professional experience mike helped us make the best decision and now everything is good again thanks mike!!!

Called Mike. He answered promptly and assessed my TV wifi connectivity issue over the phone. Gave me an estimate and agreed to make a home visit to fix issue. Mike arrived on time and fixed my issue the first time — a great customer service experience. Most importantly, I would definitely call Mike the next time I need TV repair. Mike did a great job. I called in the morning and was able to get an appointment within 2hrs. I called back soon after that and asked if I could get a later appointment due to my grandson needing to be picked up from school. Mike was very nice to accommodate my request. Mike was on time and got the job done fast, gave me tips on how keep my TV longer and a decent price. I would definitely call him again.

Mike was able to come to my house the next day to fix my 65″ samsung tv. He diagnosed the problem in 15 minutes and installed the new part in another 5. He was in and out within 30 minutes.

Trying to get ahold of this place is rather difficult just to set up an appointment. with my boss being out of town things were time sensitive and I left 3 voicemails. I even called right back after I spoke with them yesterday around 11:00 about an 11:30 am appointment today. well they didn’t call me back until today at 11 something right as I booked another repair service in newport. :/

When our power surged last week and our TV wouldn’t turn on, I panicked and googled «tv repair» before I even fed my kids their breakfast. When I connected with mike, he was straightforward and honest from the get go. He came by that day, diagnosed our tv and also pointed out that I was eligible to file a claim with Southern California Edison for the repair cost. So cool! I would have never known. He ordered the part and I got my tv back in working order less than a week later. He kept in touch durning the week, letting me know the status, etc. So stoked to find good, local repair service. After reading the Unilocal ad’s I decided to give Mike a call to service our 65″ Mitsubishi TV that was only about 4 years old. The picture went out and it seemed like a bulb blew. Well that is what it was and Mike came with the correct projector lamp and in no time our TV was back up. He was very professional and explained everything as he went. I asked him about a pixel we had out and he explained I would get more over the year and then would need a new DLP chip. Sure enough not long after we went from 1 To 20 To well over what I could count. Called Mike back out and again part in hand he replaced it and our TV is like new. Definitely recommend Mike for any TV repair, he’s knowledgeable and honest and his prices are reasonable too.

My 55″ Samsung TV started power cycling for two weeks before I brought it to Mike’s TV Service. It was my first time experiencing any issues with a new tv like mine, (2011 model purchased in 2012, only two years old) purchased for $ 1700 from Best Buy… you’d think it would last a few years right? Wrong.
So I googled and youtubed common issues with Samsung tv’s… normally it would be just a blown capacitor or resistor or fuse, but I didn’t see any of that when I took the back cover off… When I contacted Samsung, they told me it would be $ 115 just for a technician to come out and diagnose my tv. Really?! $ 115?! That is what led me to Unilocal,searching for a local repair business.
It didn’t take me long to find Mike’s TV Service… the reviews seemed pretty decent so I thought I’d give them a shot. I emailed Mike with the description of my issue along with pictures of the tv boards; same day he replied and expressed he’d need to see the tv in person.
I dropped off my tv on a Monday afternoon with Toni and was told I’d receive a call in three days. I called two days later to check on things and Toni told me he’d call back the next day. I was a little bummed and anxious to see what was wrong with the tv, not to mention how much the full repair would cost.
Next day finally came around and I was informed that my power board had gone bad and that it damaged the mother board as well. Yikes! Not good for my wallet.
Mike told me a new power board would cost $ 295. I was hesitant at first and took a day to think about it. He also shared with me that I could either spend another $ 1200 for a 55″, or pay $ 295 to have mine fixed, but Mike was nice about it, didn’t try to push me or force sell me anything. He answered all my questions and didn’t rush me.
This is now the Friday of the week and I gave Mike the green light to order the new power board. He told me my tv would be ready by the following Friday as the board was being shipped in to his shop.
A week and four days later I got the call from Mike that my tv was fixed and ready to be picked up, man was I excited to get my tv back. :)
Upon arrival, I was greeted by Mike (first time meeting him in person, as I had met with Toni the day I dropped off my tv) and he was very friendly and kind. He brought me over to my tv, powered it on and showed me all was well. Haha. I took a few minutes to make sure everything was in order, no scratches or anything on the screen, and that all four screws were in the stand. GREEN lights across the board. :)
I’ll be honest, the day I dropped off my tv at Mike’s, I left a little nervous as I didn’t feel very good leaving my $ 1700 tv. The work space is a little dirty and cluttered looking, but rest assured, Mike and Toni are good guys and repaired my tv for a reasonable price and in a reasonable time frame. They can be trusted. Definitely. :)
Mike and Toni only charged me $ 40 (which would apply to the full repair) for a diagnosis, then an additional $ 295 which Mike very kindly brought it down to $ 264? Give or take a few dollars? Cents? That was a very nice gesture for Mike to do that for me. Much appreciated.
It’s been a week or two now and my tv is working flawlessly, watched Jurassic Park in blu-​ray 3D and it looked awesome! Clarity is all still there with the bells and whistles.
Mike also gives a 90 day warranty with his repairs. Wish that could be more like a year warranty but Mike explained to me that it’s from the company that he receives the parts from. Understandable.
All in all, I’m happy and pleased with the service I’ve received from Mike and Toni. Thank you guys!
Hope I won’t have to bring my tv back any time soon. :)
