Plan to spend a while; you’ll enjoy browsing the entire store; it is full of fantastic items to make statements in any room! I can’t say enough about the great pieces they offer. I literally wished I had gone there before I’d made a number of purchases for my home.
Don’t be intimidated by how well the store showcases its beautiful treasures! All of the staff are friendly, professional, very helpful and work diligently to satisfy you as a customer, especially the Service Supervisor, Harout. He, along with assistance from other reps, went out of their way to help locate a pair of lamps that I saw on one visit; that someone had already purchased when I went back the next day with plans to buy them for myself.
They literally called stores, warehouses, vendors, buyers, etc., and all with a smile. They also helped me with design ideas. Harout was so helpful and so nice, I can’t even tell you how nice! :)
If you haven’t gone to H.D. Buttercup, well, it’s about time you did!

Our client purchased some chandeliers from HD Buttercup and our client’s architect had an unusual request for them regarding specifications of the chandeliers for the installation. With the help of Monica and Michelle, we were able to get the information we needed. Monica went above and beyond with very thorough email and text follow-​up to ensure that we were all set. I found a beautiful cabinet made of lacquered white frame, walnut doors and drawers, and brass legs. I was actually obsessed over this Pinterest picture, tracked down the maker, and then found the retailer, which led me to HD Buttercup.
Initially, I had called the SF location which is much closer to me than Costa Mesa, but the only one left available brought me to a sales rep, Donna. Donna seems nice and courteous over the phone (yes I made a phone order without seeing this product in person). I was confident in the pictures and video Donna had sent me and she reassured me that the piece was beautiful despite the damage on the backside of the cabinet (not noticeable if you put it up against a wall). Yes, I got a pretty good discount for buying this last piece of a floor model.
I was skeptical of the logistics because she didn’t seem so sure herself but set expectations that I would get it in a week. The sales piece of the transaction went fine, but the follow through was spotty. I would text her (our form of communication) but sometimes didn’t hear from her and would have to follow up a few times more to only find out product is not ready to ship.
Anyway, it made it here. Sits nicely in my formal room, but came damaged more than what was told to me. Either it was lack of attention to detail by the sales rep, mishandled when packing, or white glove delivery service not so fancy after all. Or just my dumb luck. Who knows.
But what I do appreciate is plan b that the service rep, Harout had to put out. He’s great, precise, helpful, set expectations of timing, whereabouts, and good follow through. Thank goodness someone sent over a legit receipt via email! Thanks Harout because of you HD buttercup gets 4 out of 5, which is great!
I think I’ll make my way to SF to check out the store in person :)

Just had a fantastic shopping experience here with Monica. Had looked for chandeliers for my hall and dining room for 6 months and found both in one day! Great aesthetics, VERY competitive prices and outstanding service. A true delight!

I heard great things about this new HD Buttercup store and I was in the market for a new sofa so I decided to stop by during their half yearly sale. I walked in and was immediately greeted and helped by a designer named Gia. She was so attentive and sweet! I showed her my room and she knew right away which sofa would fit my space the best. I ended up purchasing a beautiful white down sofa and I’ve never been happier. Definitely coming in again!

After searching many furniture stores for a modern sofa, I found the one I was looking for here at HD buttercup.
At first I could not decide between two sofas but the staff really made it easy and took their time to help me decide. I went ahead and purchased it and asked to have it delivered.
Few days later the sofa arrives but right away I notice there is a small stain in the back of the sofa (probably from the delivery?). At this moment I thought how it was going to suck to try to get them to do anything about this. I was so wrong. They took care of it within a week by bringing a professional cleaner to come clean the sofa and gave me a discount for my trouble.
I’m definitely coming back here.

Came over to this area to visit Lazy Boy, looking for a recliner. After my search was unsuccessful there, I thought I would see what HD Buttercup had to offer, since I had never been to one of their stores.
I asked an older blonde haired lady where their recliners were. With a really rude voice she said «we don’t sell recliners, that’s Lazy Boy next door!» You mean to tell me Lazy Boy sells recliners!!! GET RIGHT OUT OF TOWN!!!
She then proceeds to say «we have a couple of recliners, but, they’re like $ 4000.» First off, I never told you what I wanted to spend, and second, making a statement like that sounds as though you’re insinuating that I do not have that to spend!
I told her money didn’t matter and that we weren’t poor. Then, we left. I would say it surprises me, but, that’s typical for people to act this way in this part of OC.

This place is a mecca of serious furniture porn. I’ve always been a fan of strolling through the Helms location in LA for inspiration, but turned off by the customer service. I was really interested in how this store would compare.
The expansion to SOCO is a perfect fit for the center, and although their selection is smaller than the LA location, they still have most of the same incredible goods. There aren’t any designer showcases here, but there are the same style departments separated by collection /​manufacturer /​style. Although some areas can get a little tight on space, everything is easy to see and they do a great job merchandising so you can see how different pieces work together. You’ll wish you had a 50,000 sqft house to fit EVERYTHING.
If you’re looking for high quality & stylish pieces — this is your place. They’re also great for giant area rugs. Just prepare your wallet, because this place is not cheap. The good news is that their stuff is so gorgeous and sturdy, you’ll want to keep it around forever.
Finally, shout out to the super babe associate who helped us, Jackie. She was super friendly and knowledgable– something that’s definitely lacking at the LA location.

Silly me decided to browse the site after our visit. Their branding story is worth checking out if you have the time.
My husband and I are looking for the ultimate living room + bedroom set. We moved back to So Cal from Oklahoma City without a lick of furniture just so we could start fresh! It’s been a while since both of us invested our hard earned $$ on home goods, so we thought HD Buttercup would be a good place to start prospecting. Prior to our visit, I had no idea they would have such an expansive collection of rugs! They had a full section of stacked knee high. Pricing is more on the West Elm side verses Ikea so don’t go in and give yourself a heart attack from sticker shock!
I could go for ultra-​modern pieces, while he looks at it and thinks its dirt (okay, I’m over exaggerating just a bit.) I’ll admit this process gives me some anxiety mainly because our tastes are different. Luckily, looking through the assortment at HDB gave me some piece of mind. They had all sorts of styles to choose from with designers I wasn’t very familiar with. You can get something really hip and edgy (I’m talking furnishings that you might see in a guy’s man cave or at maybe some home in the Hollywood Hills), rustic or classy with a twist. Everything was quite unique. The assortment constantly changes so chances are you’ll eventually find something to fall in love with. Can’t wait to visit the emporium

We were looking for a rug to put in our living room … We met Mimi! Who taught us all about where the different rugs were from, and was so helpful in giving excellent advice on design and size!!!

I needed a new sofa and I always drive past the store on the 405 fwy and I thought I would check it out. Such beautiful furniture! All the sales people were busy so a manager named Harut helped me. I had a budget and he was so great with helping me find exactly what I needed with how much I wanted to spend. Got a great deal on a sofa! Thought I would have spent a fortune here but they are very willing to help you get the deal you want. Definitely coming back in the future.

HD B is the place to go for anyone who thinks outside of design box. I wanted a beautiful sectional couch, where exquisite fabric meets comfort and style, and I found it here. The showroom is magnificent, huge but not overwhelming, as the spacing is expertly crafted. It’s such a great place ever just to get interior design inspiration, and an ideal place to bring clients. Another thing I love is there is zero pressure by anyone working there. Most of the staff are professional designers, so they are really able to work with your vision and bring it to life. There’s so many gorgeous accessories too! I went in 2 weeks ago to do some prelim shopping, and going back today to purchase was a breeze. Can’t wait for my delivery Friday! Awesome quality, prices within reach, and lovely people! Ask for Gia K Cole, she helped me with my selections and I am thrilled with the results!

Doesn’t even compare with the awesomeness that is the LA HD Buttercup.

I couldn’t be happier to see HD Buttercup showing up and standing tall in the land of $ 895 pressboard dining room sets. The store itself is a dream to explore, and the pieces you find here are unique in the very best way. We came in opening weekend to see the rugs in person. I’d been looking for a long time for a big area rug for our new living room. Mimi Burns and team made it happen — a wildly colorful silk rug that was originally out of our price range but that we couldn’t get out of our heads. We brought it home in February and enjoy it every day. We’re not rich, but we believe in the value of good pieces, even if you can only buy one thing a year.
Icing on the cake: this whole adventure even got us coverage in the OC Register!

This place has nice things from Persian silk rugs to marble coffee tables. Customer service was okay. The gentleman belong us was rather snobbish. We wanted to buy a coffee table and he returned saying these pieces are custom made and will take at minimum 16 weeks. Well we didn’t want to wait 16 weeks for a coffee table so we left. If you can wait that long for the nicer items then this is your store.

HDB stands out among the many furniture stores in OC. It really is a designer’s dream and if I had to furnish my house from just one store… without a doubt it would be HDB. It’s a must see.
Their customer service is as strong as their furnishings. Monica was very helpful, customer focused, and would be a joy to work with. At some point, we ended up working with Jessica and, for our situation, this was a perfect match.
Use their design services. Jessica has been helping us design our house for the last couple of months and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We are not design professionals and it was incredibly valuable to find someone so skilled to help make sure our furniture investments result in the kind of professionally decorated look we want. As we shop other stores, we continue to get glowing reviews about what a great designer we are working with in Jessica. While she has owned a sizeable design business in the past, we are lucky she is currently working 4 days a week at HDB.
Jessica has helped us with design ideas, materials, paint colors, and certainly furnishings. From HDB we have purchased a sectional, rug, entertainment piece, 4 accent chairs, table… and they all fit perfectly into our space.

Stopped in on one of our many weekend daytrips to CM… had no idea this place was here or I wouldn’t have been so late to the party! Awesome (quality) furnishings that I wish I could furnish my entire home in and really cool things to pick up for gifts or housewarming surprises.
I had a ton of questions on the origins of certain pieces and needed help putting things together for visual concept and brainstorming — both staff and management were super friendly, helpful and it felt like they crafted the entire experience towards my needs, which I really loved.
Will return!

Going to SOCO always makes me wish I had an abundance of space in the house, and an abundance of cash in the bank account. Stuff is expensive, but it’s all so pretty to look at. HD Buttercup just reaffirms this for me, but I love walking around to get inspiration for different areas of my living space.
As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by large chandeliers down a carpeted walkway with staged rooms lining the path. Think about going to an IKEA showroom and seeing furniture and accessories strategically displayed to show their versatility in a room — it’s kinda like that, but the pieces are made of real materials and everything has an extra 0 at the end of the price before the decimal point. Again, it sure is pretty to look at.
The space is huge and if you’re really looking for a unique piece to bring a room together, I’m sure you can find it here. They have everything from textiles to wallpaper, art pieces to bed frames. Everything was engineered beautifully and each item was sturdy. You definitely get what you pay for.
Though it’s not a place where you’d shop everyday, it’s fun to check out if you need to breathe some new life into your current home. It’s great to get ideas of what’s popular and because the place is so large, you get a bunch of different tastes and aesthetics depending on what your décor flavor may be.
The staff is nice and nobody pushes you into a sale, in fact, they pretty much leave you alone until you ask them a question. They have designers on-​site that can help you plan a space to your liking.
Next time I’m at the OC Mart Mix or perusing the farmers’ market, I’ll definitely drop in to see what new layouts they have!

On our way back from the LA Car Show we stopped into South Coast Collection plaza to look at some kitchen designs and saw that HD Buttercup had opened up there. I have heard of them in the Los Angeles area, but just never made it there so we stopped in to check them out. HD Buttercup is designer nirvana. There are so many unique and one of a kind items here, as well as stock pieces, that I don’t know where to start. So I guess I am just going to tell you that if you are in the area this is a must stop.
I bought a live edge dinner table that is STUNNING, brought it home and put the dining chairs I had designed around the table and it’s perfection in our home. I also bought a couple of pieces for when we entertain and now I can’t wait to have a party to use them.
The staff here is AWESOME, Monica was our sales person and she is a gem. She even came in on her day off to make sure that our table was wrapped correctly and loaded into the truck. This place is so awesome, I have been here twice in less that 5 days.
Also make sure you check out their amazing wallpaper collection. They have some very unique designs and can really change up the tone of room. There is a HUGE rug collection in the back of the store, make sure you check it out.
I do have one complaint about this store, and it’s a big one THEY AREN’T IN SAN DIEGO… pleeaasssssse come to SD. When we build our home I want to wipe out your store.
