Came here based on a referral from someone when I needed my transmission redone in my 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 xcab. I love my truck. It is my baby. It might not look like it since it is dinged and bruised, but that’s because I use it as a truck.
I have never had a better experience at a car repair facility. Professional, kind, easygoing, fantastic work (guaranteed, too), WITHIN BUDGET of quoted price and delivered on time if not a bit earlier than quoted. No attempts to upsell or point out mythical things that should be fixed or else I risk flying off the road and rolling into a ditch.
And I checked around. The same repair would have cost me at least $ 800.00 somewhere else.
My truck drives like it did when I first bought it in 2001. So very happy. This place is fantastic.

I have already posted this on Google Reviews, because everyone should know how excellent this place is. Easily the best experience I’ve ever had with any mechanic or auto-​body shop in my life. I initially brought my car to the Ford dealership across the street for a busted transmission. $ 140 later for an initial diagnostic, they wanted $ 1,600 just to take the transmission apart, diagnose the exact cause and put it back together! Not even counting the labor/​parts that they would have charged me for.
Instead, the people at Coast came over and helped me push the car over to their shop for free. Then they guaranteed a diagnosis free of charge, even if I decided to take the car somewhere else. Once they took the transmission apart, they found that it was a minor fix and fixed it for free! Only $ 300 in labor for taking apart the transmission and putting it back together.
Not only did they have my car ready the next day, but the car feels and drives much better than it did when I first bought it in 2009 (manual transmission as a second owner). It’s so refreshing to see good, honest people running a local business. Go to them and save yourself the money and headache of dealing with any of the common shady shops and dealers. Thanks Coast!

I’ve done 2 or three transmissions through Coast over the years. Always fair prices, stellar service, friendly folks. I started hearing exhaust noises not too long after having my transmission rebuilt, so I stopped in to see if the rebuild and the sound were related. They put it up on the rack, figured out the problem (had nothing to do with the transmission), and fixed it for me. No charge!
I’ve never had to use their warranty, but I like the idea that if you have trouble, you can get it fixed at other shops if you are out of the area.

Great shop with awesome people. Meg and Tony helped me track down a solution for my 1963 Fury. No small task– we went through a lot to find the right part and Tony was great. Honest and helpful. Thanks for getting my classic back on the road!

This place is amazing! The fact that it is family owned and has been around for years means a lot. I had an issue with my transmission due to another mechanic at a different shop performing malpractice. Meg and Tony went out of their way to help me solve the issue through mediation at no cost. They believe that everyone should be treated kindly and that is exactly what they did for me.

I brought my 1965 Ford Mustang in because of a slight transmission leak. The rebuilt transmission only had 19,000 miles on it, so I was nervous about what the cause would be. I was referred to Tony and the guys at Coast Transmission from a fellow classic car friend. Turns out it was just a simple bracket, which Tony replaced free of charge. He also topped off my transmission fluid, checked my gear-​oil in the rear, gave me some tips on a few un-​related points regarding my car, and even threw air in my tires. And to top it all off, he refused to take a single penny from me, no matter how hard I tried. This was the nicest, most honest shop I have visited in my life. Tony and the guys have me as a customer for life, and I’ll be bringing my classic back in soon for a shifter rebuild. Regardless of whether or not you have a 50 year-​old pony car, or a vehicle fresh of the lot, Tony and the gang at Coast Transmission have you covered.

My ’95 Del Sol’s transmission was getting a bit sticky so I took it over to the shop. The mechanic asked me describe the problem, lifted the hood, topped off the transmission fluid, and shook my hand. This is an honest shop.
Free diagnostic as well! And they won’t force you into paying for anything while the car is in pieces.
