History

Established in 1987.

Post Wines & Spirits was opened in 1987 after the collapse of the Mianus Bridge on I95 caused the previous Liquor store to close. Two young men Randy Caravella and Doug Garofalo opened the shop with the intent of opening a neighborhood fine wine shop. Post Wines has succeeded in providing great customer service, wide selection of collector, and great value wine from around the world, and has been a big supporter of the neighborhood. It has been a pleasure to serve the community for 25 years and enjoy the great people of Cos Cob.

My favorite liquor store in town! While it isn’t the largest store, they pack a smartly curated selection of wines in all price points. Randy has never steered me wrong and even if he’s not there, his knowlegeable staff helps me make the right choice… from beer to wine to spirits.
A 3 for $ 30 rack and the 90+ points for under $ 20 rack coupled with outstanding service and product knowledge… what more could you ask for!

What can I say? This is my go-​to place not just in Cos Cob, but in Greenwich.
You have the 3 for $ 30 wine rack which has some really great vintages and then you just ask Randy or Jerry what you’re in the mood for (or just what mood you’re in) and they will steer you right. They also have a great selection of hard ciders and liqueurs.
I love this local, community place. It’s great.

Unless Lana was looking for Boones Farm and $ 10 is too much for a good bottle of wine, her rather unkind review and one-​star rating doesn’t even closely resemble the store I frequent. Randy and his staff are first class. They not only have an incredible variety, but they are knowledgable and friendly. They will take the time to discuss various whiskeys and the delicacies of certain scotches, and they know their wines. And how can you say a place is overpriced when they have an entire rack of really great wines that are available 3 for $ 30? Definitely my go-​to place in Greenwich.

The prices are crazy, very small selection, the parking doesn’t exist. avoid at all costs — either go to the store right across CVS (small selection as well but decent prices) or ex.5 at CVS/A&P lot. That said the staff is very nice, it’s just a very small store with a very overpriced selection that was not researched beforehand.
