John R Pedrotty, MD

My father called his office and explained the situation to his office manager, Jessica. She promptly relayed the information to Dr. Pedrotty, who immediately advised us to come right in. After examining, conversing, and then diagnosing my situation, he expedited the process by directly contacting a specialist, who saw me the very next morning. After a month of rigorous tests, procedures, and treatments, I am now on the road to recovery. If not for Dr. Pedrotty advocating my emergency, I could have lost my toe.

I wish I could give this doctor ZERO stars. Unprofessional, takes advantage, and was sexually inappropriate, and racist. YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE Mr. PeDortti and you need to fucking retire. By the way, all I wanted was clearance to go to Japan with my husband because he’s in the Navy. Everything came out fine. HE goes out of his way to FIND something wrong with you so you can keep seeing him and he can keep his business open. Completely takes advantage of you. Reporting you to the business bureau and closing your medical practice. You can go fuck yourself pervert. He kept repeating the word «obese» to me and said you would like great at 135 – 140. He also asked if I was mexican? Because Mexicans are known to be obese and fat. I wish I was joking but I’m not. He also said he can keep me here until HE figures out my «problem» and I should be thankful for my insurance and the NAVY. One– who are you to determine whether I was being ungrateful. Two-​NEVER said one word to you regarding being ungrateful. And he thinks he know about the military bases and comes up with some BS to say «Oh I need to be «sure». ALL SO HE CAN SEE YOU AGAIN! Don’t ever see this doctor. Save your money and your time.
UPDATE I WENT IN TO GET MY SCREENING PACKET. I asked politely if I can please have my packet and at first he got it and he was about to hand it to me then pulls back and says «Why does your husband need it?» I said «He just wants to look over my medical packet sir.» He replies with «He has no business in this packet, why does he need it?» I said «Sir, my husband wants to see my packet. Can I please have my packet?» Then he says «Are you quitting my practice?» I said «no sir I just need my packet.» Then HE THROWS THE PACKET AT ME AND YELLS AT ME GOOD LUCK. I did not say ONE WORD back to him. I cannot believe this guy. I’m going to report everywhere possible. THIS I WILL NOT STAND FOR. UNPROFESSIONAL.

Horrible doctor. Go somewhere else! This guy is a dick. Doesn’t know boundaries super unprofessional. Dude needs to retire and know his place. Called my sister «ungrateful» and wouldn’t give her a clearance for the Navy. He was not signing her clearance just because she had «anemia» and said he can keep her as long as he wants because he’s the one signing the clearance. My sister went to a specialist and she even said that she’s ok and should be cleared to go overseas with her husband? This guy takes pleasure in humiliating his patients and is a pervert. He needs to get his medical license REVOKED. Power hungry, unprofessional, apathetic, pathetic excuse for a doctor. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Update: same day my sister found another doctor to take her in, to get a second opinion. She is given a packet by the Navy that needs to be signed, and for some reason he kept it. My sister went back to get her packet back and refused to give it to her until the 3^rd time she asked. I’m appalled to report that he THREW the packet at her and said «good luck». UNETHICAL. UNPROFESSIONAL. If anyone has had similar experiences, REPORT this guy!

If I could give zero stars I would. The only good thing about his office is his receptionist/​nurse/​assistant. However, I have no idea how she works for him. The first time I went to see him he made several extremely inappropriate sexual comments towards me, that I do not feel comfortable repeating. When I left his office to check out I realized I was his last appointment for the day and his receptionist (his only employee) had already gone home. This made me really uncomfortable. He proceeded to tell me about his nice car, and how me should never have done primary care since there is no money in it. He tried to sell me on a laser treatment that I later looked up at home a learned it was not at all for a young women but for older women wanting to smooth out wrinkles. He told me if it’s a financial concern to just put it on my credit card. All this to say… I left thinking maybe he is just one of those inappropriate old men, but in constructively thinking about the things he said they were not meant to be jokes. He was serious, which is disgusting and very disturbing and I wonder if I am not the first female patient to be sexually harassed. I then had to go back for a follow up appointment a month later, which I took a friend with me just incase he said anything inappropriate. I won’t go into long detail about the visit but he was highly unprofessional and also made a huge mistake in reading back my findings from a radiologist. I was led to believe I had a mass that grew 10x in size until I went to the specialist he referred me to and they confirmed that actually the report had a typo and it had not grown at all. Overall the man is a hazard to his patients health and needs to retire. He is very very lucky that the men in my family didn’t go down to his office and force him out of practice after telling them what happened!

Terrible doctor should not be allowed to practice. Preaches vitamins because he sells them to you out of his office. Quick to write a prescription without any other alternative approaches provided such as diet etc. I honestly get better medical advice by going to a web site than going to his office for a consultation.

If you are a new patient of pedrotty’s, be prepared for endless blood tests and follow up appointments. If you are able to end the cycle of infinite follow ups they will still call you every six months for a random follow up.
Pedrotty has perfected the art of for profit health care by telling you that no matter how small a issue you are experiencing, you are going to need blood work and plenty of monthly follow ups. Also he will recommend his «very cheap» vitamins that he wanted, and did not receive, $ 137 dollars for.
If by some chance he runs out of issues to make follow up appointments for, he will tell you to go have your eyes checked and go to the dentist and report back to him to let him know what they say as if that is any of his business.
Even a simple request of a flu shot for my daughter turned into an billed office visit so he could tell me she will be a tall when she grows up.
I completely understand that this is his job and how he makes his living but after awhile it become obvious that he is having you do thing, not for your best interest, but for him to make a buck. If you think I am exaggerating in any way please feel free to book your fist appointment, there will be plenty more to follow. He was out doctor for just over a year, and we have now switched providers.
Beware.

I have been a patient for a couple of years. He is different, very in your face approach. I did not mind at first but, when I needed a referral I was told to come in for another evaluation. Well, I go in and an intern is introduced to do the eval. So, after intern does eval Dr. Pedrotty has intern tell him the findings in front of me. As the intern is giving the findings, Dr. Pedrotty is reprimanding the poor intern in front of me! It was an awkward visit and I feel obligated to warn you to stay away from this quack! He is full of himself and not always responsive to what you come to visit him for. I was also sold on his rip off vitamins. This guy is interested in money first. Stay away, you have been warned.

The absolute worst doctor I’ve ever had.
Whats even worse is his office staff who happens to be the nurse.
For years I have dealt with his horrible bedside manner but after a 3 month mess up on a referral on his nurses’ part and refusal to help or make sure that I received adequate care I have to switch!
Avoid this overpriced hack like the plague.

I when in for roseaca presription he ended up talking me into a IPL the first time it was Okay but then he actually beg me to have another one he hurt real bad the 2^nd time I ended getting an infection which landed me in the ER from the high dose antibiotic, when i went in for a follow –up he would not take responbility. My face looks worse I have pigmentation and a few scars he claims he didnt do that to me he actually lied about the whole truth very dishonest dr I would never go back to him, he claims he graduated from notre dame but when I checked online it does not state he went to notre dame. He is a horrible person. i now have to go somewhere to have fix what he did.

I’ve lost a ton of weight using his recommended weightloss system. I could care less the weightloss products come from Amway… actually that’s a good thing because its a reputable corporation. With Obamacare a doctor has to supplement their practice and this system works. Dr. Pedrotty cares about his patients and takes the time to listen. My condition has greatly improved with his care. Do yourself a favor ignore the negative reviews here and let him care for you.

As indicated by another reviewer, if I could give zero stars, I would do so, too. Do NOT go to this physician. He pushes his vitamins, pushes his cosmetics, and pushes countless tests. He also advises in areas that are NOT within his expertise. My fiancé’ and I contacted him about the importance of patient follow through with his recommendations of diet and medications and he inserted himself into our personal relationship advising me to «look out for signs and be careful before finalizing marital paperwork» and told my fiancé’ to «run for the hills and get a pre-nup»…all while I am currently 4 months pregnant. Whether my fiancé’ and I can weather this storm is to still be determined, because this type of «advice» coming from a physician has been a heavy issue between us we are still navigating. Do yourself a favor and find any one of several other highly rated physicians in Coronado.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I went to Dr. Pedrotty because I had heard he was the best in town. He was — for a while. I really liked his efficient, effective and smart diagnoses of my issues. But then he began pushing the pill samples on me. (My later physician said there was no evidence that I needed blood pressure medication and that it was negligent to order it for me after one high reading.) Next came his special «medically sound» weight loss program that turned out to be his wife selling Amway products! That might have been excusable as an overzealous husband trying to help the missus, but after I discovered the sham, and returned the unused products, the wife promised a refund that she never delivered. My pockets are $ 620 lighter thanks to this marketing scheme, and I have waited 5 months for a refund. My next step is the small claims court and maybe even the medical board, considering that I was sold these products across the doctor office counter. It is a shame to see a medical practice with so much promise stoop so low.

I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time, so here it is… I wasn’t thrilled with my current doctor, so I switched to Pedrotty and am so grateful I did! He genuinely cares about all his patients and will do in depth assessments to truly treat the cause. When you go in there with a health concern or issue, you will walk out knowing you are in the best care. My friends and sister now go to him.

Dr. Pedrotty is super! He spends a lot of time on his patients and gets to know you as a person. He is professional, affable, and very knowledgeable.

He’s my former doctor.
He’s so adamant about smoking that my wife came home in tears.
At that point she hadn’t smoked in 6 months.
He didn’t seem interested in what she had to say just continued on with his rant.
That’s why he’s my former doctor
