Montecito is a vibrant community where the possibilities are limitless. Retreat to your elegant, carefully designed one– or two-bedroom apartment home distinguished by stylish designer features.
I was very excited when my daughter and her fiancé first moved in to the Montecito apartment complex at Dos Lagos. Over time I realized my excitement was short lived, the«contract» that each tenant has to sign is NEVERENFORCED! For instance: 1. Barbeques, which are a fire hazard, are not permitted by «contract» yet are on almost every balcony. 2. Tenants are allowed one car in the garage and one parking lot spot, unfortunately I have witnessed non running cars occupying those parking spots. Also tenants using garages as storage units and parking 2 – 3 cars in the parking lot. If there was enough parking spaces that wouldn’t be an issue but since there isn’t people park everywhere… in front of garages, so the occupant can not get out, in front of the walk ways, …literally everywhere!!! When a complaint was expressed to Kelli in the front office she would smile sweetly and do nothing. Since the rec room is never locked, nor monitored, teenagers have taken to having sex in that area. Complaints were expressed to Kelli and she would smile sweetly and do nothing. My daughter went to the on-site gym early in the morning only to find a homeless person sleeping in the restroom because the door was not locked. A complaint was lodged with Kelli and you guessed it, she smiled sweetly and nothing happened! As far as it being a non-smoking apartment that too is a joke. Not only do the tenants smoke cigarettes, pot is also often smelled throughout the complex. If you like to break the rules with no consequence this is your home. If you like order and the ability to have management do there job look somewhere else!!!

We moved in back in March. We were one of the first tenants to move in so nothing was really done. Now that the amenities are all up and running, we enjoy living here. We bbq by the pool and watch TV outside near the clubhouse. I also like the gym as it has 2 TVs and the equipment is nice. The apartment itself is nice. It is spacious and the high ceilings are nice and the storage is awesome considering it’s an apartment. The fixtures and appliances are low end but that’s expected in an apartment. The water pressure is horrible but the hot water works good. The noise here is minimal as they have double paned windows however if you live downstairs or next to anyone, you can hear the toilet flush, laundry going, vacuum, even walking around. I know it’s apartment living so I don’t bitch about it but I think they could have considered better insulation when building these units. It is a NONSMOKING property so that is nice as long as everyone follows these rules… there are just a few that decide it’s okay for us to breath in toxins by the pool at night. The location is fantastic as we can walk to run errands and/or go to dinner or lunch and it’s dog friendly everywhere around here. Kelli in the leasing office has been great in responding to our requests when needed and is very friendly. Brian,(the maintenance guy) is always on the premises and is also very friendly and has been very good at fixing anything we have contacted the office about. Having a quick response to issues is appreciated. The grounds are well kept by the gardeners and the pool and jacuzzi are always kept up and clean.

Everything is new.awesome. We moved in Apr 1st. I very much enjoy living here. The kids love the movies across the street. Wife loves the shops and restuarants all around and I really enjoy the fact that I can count on the Montecito staff with anything I may need help with. I’ve need a couple of minor things fixed and maintenance man(Brian) is on it… awesome. I also appreciate the fact that Kelli, in the Leasing office always welcomes you with a smile and helps answer any questions you may have. Kelli really provides GREAT customer service. The pool area is awesome. It really is kinda like a mini resort. The only disappointment I had was the pool not being ready when we first moved in.

There are still some issues like I said in the previous review it’s new and growing pains are to be expected. Yes the security gates are functional, however we were advised via email that our gate remotes would go live on August 28th well as of this update that has not happened. This is not a criticism of the staff however an updated email letting us know what is going on would be helpful. Since my work schedule does not permit me to come into the leasing office to speak with them regarding certain issues there should be someone there to at least answer phone calls. But generally the leasing staff doesn’t answer the phone or return messages, well at least not my phone calls.
