History

Established in 2003.

After graduating in 2002 from Southern California College of Optometry and working a year in various retail and private offices, I realized that the only way to provide personable eye care in the most ethical way was by having my own private practice. Thus Eagle Glen Optometry was born in 2003.

I then decided to become a Corona resident and join the Circle City Rotary Club. Then in 2010 I decided to join like-​minded optometrists and we became a Vision Source network office.

Vision Source is the largest network of private practice eye care providers in the country with 3500 offices and growing. Dr. Tony Lieu obtained his bachelor degree in Biotechnology from Cal Poly Pomona, CA and his Doctorate of Optometry at Southern California College of Optometry, Fullerton CA.

Dr. Lieu loves living in the Corona community (previously in Dos Lagos and now in Eagle Glen) where his patients live. He is comfortable providing eye care to his patients who are infants through seniors, the physically and mentally challenged and contact lens wearers of all ages. Above all, Dr. Lieu is caring. Often times, he will call you to follow up and always has time to answer your questions.

Dr. Lieu strongly believes in the preventative care of problems like dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration. In fact, he has traveled extensively as a scientific consultant for FDA approved macular degeneration studies.

He likes to travel with his lovely wife and 3 kids, as well as partake in father/​daughter dance recitals. And once two more kids are out of diapers, he’d travel even more.

Great experience at this practice. Opticians were very friendly and helpful!!! The dr was very thorough, and even found a comfortable pair of contacts for my astigmatism !! They took my insurance and it was a very positive experience !!

They’ve already fleeced me for $ 118 and I still don’t have a prescription for glasses OR contacts… and that’s WITH insurance!
$ 80 for contact lens fitting fee??? WTF? Is that when you walked 24″ over to the wall & pulled out a pair of sample contacts?
When I called for a follow-​up appointment on a Saturday they said they didn’t have one. Hello? Do you have one the following week?
Go to Walmart & be just as satisfied.

Great optometry! The doctor as well the staff is very polite and prompt in services. No waiting for long. They have reasonable charges and know their work well. The place has a good parking, is situated in a good lot, and the office is very clean and spacious. Definitely one of the great practices I have ever visited.

I love Dr. Lieu and would not trust my eyes (or my kids eyes) to anyone else! I don’t even live in corona anymore and I still make the drive from Rancho to our appts. He is so thorough, making sure that not only can I see but that my eyes are comfortable, that I am not having headaches and my eyes are healthy on the inside. He helps me problem solve when I tell him of the new changes in my eye sight. I am no stranger to eye doctors and have been in their offices since the second grade when I was fitted with my very first pair of very thick glasses! I now wear daily contacts which I love. Dr Lieu has tried so many different pairs on me. He would always listen and care about how they fit in my eyes. Sometimes he would give me a trial pair and let me wear them home. Then he would call me and ask about the comfort and fit. My eyes are complicated but I feel like he really takes his time with me. He is very easy to talk to and remembers things about my family that I told him in my last visit! My kids enjoy going to him, they think he is funny :)

Eagle Glen is lucky to have such a great optometry office right in our community! Dr Lieu and his office staff are better than professional… They are personable! I love that during my visits, Dr. Lieu takes the time to ask how my family is doing, knows them all by name, and genuinely shows interest in our lives! When it comes to eye care, he’s awesome with children and is very thorough. The staff is always happy… You can tell they enjoy doing what they do. It’s just always a pleasure walking in and knowing your appointment is going to be above expectations!

I came here because it’s close to my house. I made an appointment for my husband and I, which we only had to wait a couple of minutes for Dr. Lieu. He appeared to be a combination of egotistical, yet competent. My husband and I both purchased our prescription glasses here, which was quite expensive even though they were not brand names (this is with insurance). My husband also got contact lenses, in which he had to discard after a week of use since they were not as accurate and comfortable as his previous prescription. We love where the optometry is located since it’s close to home and in a nice little plaza, but I’m sure there is another place near home that is better.

This office is great ! I have insurance but chose to pay cash here because Dr. Tony is one in a million. I have had several optometrist check me out recently but when I came here I had superior service! If you care about your eyes, open them up and visit Vision Center and I’m shure Dr Tony will take care of you like he did me. Also thank you to the staff «Monica and Richard will make you feel at home.

I finally found an honest and reliable optometrist. Dr. Lieu is amazing, and actually seems like he cares. He takes his time with his patients and follows up with you after you get your glasses. The Ladies in the office are super polite, friendly and attentive. I have broken my glasses a couple times and I walk in and they attend to me quickly. I been going here for around 3 years. I recommend this place.

I walked in here today in BAD MOOD! My normal optimistic completely let me down one to many times today so I decided to check out this place by my house. I called before I arrived to make sure they accepted my insurance and sure enough they do. And even better, the woman asked for my info over the phone so that when I come in everything is already ready to go. I came in in not a good mood but the woman stuck it out with me and never got an attitude with me and just helped me the best she could. I was quiet surprised. I think I may be using this place more often. Big thank you to the woman that helped me. You made my experience awesome.

Super friendly staff!
I usually use Unilocal to help me know whether certain businesses are any good or not. Although they only have 4 stars I think they deserve 5 stars.
Dr lieu’s staff is super friendly and they helped me find contacts in my budget. I do have insurance but it only works In costco where my mom works (I’m on her insurance). But costco doesn’t have some of the brands I do like or they have old models.
At the Costco optometrist I felt very rushed and the staff at times seemed almost overwhelmed with patients. But at Dr lieu’s I felt like he took the time to get to know me, answer my questions, and explained his findings.
So I went from feeling «okay» with my old glasses to loving my new contacts. They are perfect and even though I had to sacrifice my insurance coverage for this place it was totally worth the sacrifice.
People would often rather write bad reviews instead of positive reviews. Instead of making final judgement through Unilocal,give the place a chance to wow you and make the decision for your self!

Dr. Lieu is very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk with. The office is very clean. Appointments are very easily made and they have had next day or next week spots open for those of us who make last minute appts. I have never had to wait-​which is awesome! The only negative I would say would be the pricey glasses… but we will run into that anywhere I suppose. But, a better selection of frames under $ 150 would be nice. :-)

I generally check out Unilocal Reviews prior to utilizing a business that is new to me however I did not in this case. Bad decision as I would have had a preview of what to expect from the other reviews previously posted.
I selected Eagle Glen Optometry for a variety of reasons:
1. I travel all week for business and they are open every other Saturday for eye exams 2. They accept my insurance, Eyemed
3. I live in Corona and the location is 5 miles from my house so if I needed eyeglass adjustments it would be convenient.
I set up my appointment 2 weeks prior and was called the Thursday prior to confirm the appointment. I arrived 5 minutes early and the receptionist Rick advised when I walked in that there would be a 45 minute wait. I asked Rick if it occurred to him to call me to advise of the wait so I could use my time wisely vs. sitting in Dr. Lieu’s office cooling my heals. He said he did not know until 5 minutes before I arrived there would be such a long wait and assumed I would already be on my way — Rick, there are cell phone’s. In addition there is a sign on the door that says «We accept Walk-​ins». I surely hope this is not the same situation as the nail salon that accepts walk in’s and in some cases makes their appointment clients wait.
I chose to pass on waiting the 45 minutes for the exam or to reschedule the appointment as I do not support business or medical offices that disregard their clients time. Eyemed has a long list of other providers in the area — No need to accept poor service.

I had been going here for a couple years, and while I always felt they were money hungry I never had any problems with their service. Dr. Lieu is a little dry and snobby, but he’s nice if the conversation ever gets started. I have had multiple problems with my contact and glasses orders where they either didn’t come in on time or they were completely wrong. I’ve never had any other problems with other optometrist in the 15 years I’ve needed glasses. I don’t recommend Eagle Glen Optometry.

I have been going to Eagle Glen Optometry for many years, but sadly made the decision to seek another office. I love Dr. Lieu and the staff is friendly and nice, but there are so many there have been too many inconveniences over the years and I am ready to move on. I have had my prescription ordered wrong twice, my frames were adjusted terribly and bent (when I took them to sunglass hut they said they were horribly mis shapen and adjusted wrong), I have been mis quoted on my out of pocket, and have not gotten call backs for days. This is a great group of people, but maybe some training is an order.

.I am a first time Unilocaler to leave a review but felt like now was the time. Once a year I need to get glasses. Like many, i wait till the end of the year. This would be the third year of coming to Eagle Glen Optometry. The first year went fine. The second year, last year, i was frustrated that my glasses took almost 2 weeks longer (4 weeks total) to come in. I was never called, never apologized to, nothing. Once they did finally come in, the wrote down my prescription wrong, therefore I had to wait another 1−½ weeks for it to be corrected. Im one to give second chances so decided to give them another try this year. once again, I waited until the first week of December to make an appointment. When I called to make the appointment they asked the basic questions such as who was my insurance carrier, etc. I told them and hung up the phone looking forward to my appointment in 2 weeks. Tomorrow would be 2 weeks. I just got a call from them that they unfortunately do not take my insurance. I replied with questioning why would they not tell me this when I made the appointment, isn’t that the reason why they asked for my insurance in the first place? She said they pull the information the day before so they make sure they take the insurance the patient has, and no earlier. This pretty much struck me as very one sided. I make an appointment, they confirm an appointment and then they call me to cancel the day before because they didn’t do their due diligence 2 weeks ago? Good luck finding an appointment with 10 days to go left in the year! Last time trying with these people.

Dr. Lieu is a great and helpful optometrist throughout the whole exam. His staff is very welcoming and super helpful with all my questions I have, especially when picking out glasses. There’s a huge selection of glasses which has a few of my favorite brands like Ray Bans and Gucci!
