Piney Shores Resort

Standing in line waiting for my parking pass. Checked-​in last night but the front desk forgot to give me a pass. I stopped in earlier to try and get the pass but the three people standing at the counter talking were too busy to help me and told me to get in the check-​in line and wait to get the green ticket to redeem for a parking pass. Once at the front the line I received the green slip to get my parking permit but not without having to explain why I didn’t want to sit through a sales presentation. Level of concern heightened when I mentioned I would include the experience in my online review. Thank goodness for the power of Unilocal!The rest of our stay was uneventful. Beautiful view of the lake from our third story room. Pack light because there are no elevators! The pools are the highlight of this place. 3 enormous pools that are packed with kids sun up to sun down. Very few activities other than miniature golf. Convenient, affordable and yummy grill makes it a real break for moms! Upholstery on furniture worn and stained. No working phones in the rooms but fast and free wi-​fi made up for it! Friendly security at the entrance gate.

We’ve stayed here a few times and enjoyed our vacations! we stayed in the condo units right on the lake and enjoyed the view. The first year was a lower level/​first floor unit and we fedd the ducks on the patio everyday~ The next year we had a third floor unit and LOVED the view! My mother has very limited mobility so the 1^st floor was great but no issues with a 3^rd floor unit because our building had elevators! We took our wave runners and parked them on the shore every night with no problems! The resort is staffed ²⁴⁄₇ with a guard. We took our Easy-​up and had «beach» time on the grass and swam in the lake every day! The lake has a sandy bottom and very few rocks~ The pools were wonderful! Putt-​putt golf was super fun! The kids enjoyed the games and crafts and ice cream at the snack shop. We have a boat and will take it the next time we go! There is a really nice, covered marina for slipping the watercraft. We have never stayed in the cabin side so I can’t speak to that part of the resort but it looks nice from the outside.

My parents bought in to Silverleaf 15 years ago and things were great since this resort has been purchased it is awful. Beyond awful. They did not place us in the correct unit and when it was suppose to be fixed they told us it wasn’t their problem it was the booking department. My parents arrived today and they have them on the 3^rd floor after being promised a walk in due to my mothers knees. The staff isn’t helpful and they have your money they really don’t care. All the pools have been closed and it’s summer in Texas! We will not be back and anyone who asks I have no problem letting them know I would run far far away.

Weeks ago in the mall I signed up for a vacation raffle. I was called and congratulated on winning a vacation to my choice of 4 destinations. My first thought was, what’s the catch? I patiently listened to the representative explain each trip and brag on how exciting it is.
At the end of our conversation she said in order to redeem my vacation I’d have to go to Conroe, TX on a scheduled time and day; sit through a 2 hour presentation/​tour and at the end of the presentation redeem my voucher. I was also told that simply by arriving on time I’d be paid $ 100 cash! Today was that day. I checked in and waited for someone to take my on the tour and show me their presentation. I was asked a multitude of questions. Basically the gentleman was trying to get an understanding of my lifestyle and finances. I knew then they wanted me to buy something. After watching a short video, a couple hours of Q&A and a tour of the resort I was asked to purchase Timeshare (A Villa) which included incentives to have the ability to travel to many different resorts and hotels staying at no cost. You’d only use your points which you acquire yearly! Not bad huh?!? Well the price was $ 48,000; $ 8,400 and $ 857 per month for 5 years! Noooo you can’t expect someone to walk in and drop this type of money with only information I’ve been given in the last couple of hours. They didn’t give up easy. I had to firmly tell them no a few times before got they picture.
Finally when they gave up i was taken to the desk to «checkout». They thanked me for taking the time to come out and tour they facility and listen to the presentation. I was give $ 100 cash as they said they would and a voucher to redeem a trip of my choice. The resort seems to be decent! I wouldn’t mind bringing my kids there to get away from the hectic city life once or twice every 3 – 4 months. Fishing, swimming, games, relaxing and other activities.
The demo villas were pretty nice. The landscaping seems well kept and the staff was very welcoming. Tons of activities of the family. Excellent location away from the busy city sitting near a huge lake! The resort sits on close to 100 acres of land.

Time share. Never give your phone number. They won’t stop calling. Takes forever to get out of their system.

Becareful! This place is a scam and a fraud! Do not believe them if you get a call saying you won a prize or something.

I wished that I could give zero stars as that the kind of service that me and my family received while staying our week at Piney Shores. We have been coming here for about 20 years and each year there have some sort of an issue. This was the worst however we checked in on Friday night and got into our room to discover our a/​c wasn’t cooling, keep in mind that is was over 90 degrees and a sweltering 80 inside. We called the office and they sent their service guy who brought in his handy, dandy thermometer and pointed it at the supply vent and told my wife that it is doing all it can do. We ask to be moved and he said that that was up to the office personnel. We then called the office and they were quick to say that they had nothing available. We ask if they had a portable air conditioner then again they had none. Seems to be a standard answer. The next day we called to say our air still wasn’t working and they sent two guys out to tell us that their was nothing wrong with the a/​c but they put
Freon in it. Again, it was still not cooling. We suffered thru the night and called again this time they brought us a portable air conditioner, I imagine that they have one of these when you complain enough. Needless to say, we cut our week short due to not being able to keep comfortable and the lack of support the office personal gave us. I am moving toward selling this due to bad service.

This place is great for families or people who have boats. Not a place for adults to relax.
Our interaction with the staff has been great. They are all friendly and willing to help with a smile. The accommodations we had were great — A Presidential unit. Facilities are clean.
We do not care to cook when on vacation, but restaurants are close by.

The pool was nice. The fact that there are 3 is nice. It is very quiet and peaceful. Lake Conroe is right next to the resort and the rooms have a very up close view of it. There’s mini golf, sand volleyball, tennis, basketball, an arcade, and you can check out movies and DVD players for a price. Also, there’s games to check out, a snack bar, a hot tub, a shuffle board, and a gym. The only thing with the gym was that it was kind of small and you had to sign a waver to get in (but that’s understandable). Everything is within close walking reach on the resort. There’s not much to do as far as through the concierge but you CAN go fishing, kayak, or rent or go on a boat. Staff was nice and accommodating. We are Ambassadors and though we were supposed to get a regular room, we got a Presidential Suite. In our room, there was no light bulb in a lamp above the bed and the lighting did seem pretty low. Our living room had an automatic fireplace and the 2^nd room had a kitchenette. It was nice.

My family been a member of silver leaf, Piney shores for 10 plus years… As the years goes by it goes from bad to worse. The room didn’t have enough towels or sheets for the roll out bed. Call house keeping, front desk and their response was okay we’ll send some up. That was 2:30 pm. After several phone calls requesting the towels and sheets. I finally talk to security at 1200am, yes midnight and got the items I was requesting.

Took a little visit to Conroe yesterday from South Houston to see my man’s family. When we got to the resort it was located on the water and on the opposite side houses.
The last time I’d stayed in a resort was when I went to Jamaica; so I kept that in mind as I had seen these.
If you turn into the first entrance; there is a guard in a shack that will let you in. Just tell him who you are looking for with the room number.
The units are sorted by small to large. The small units are within the hills and the large units look like apartments in the back.
The dining hall is big with lots of tables. Yesterday, they had a free BBQ cook off with BBQ chicken, baked beans, mustard potato salad, pickles, onions, and for dessert a slice of cake. Drinks were tea, coffee, or water.
My boyfriend and I both got a plate and joined his family. Also, the staff had trivial games to win prizes. One of the staff ladies even offered us more cake to take home.
Back in the cabin apartment, it was fairly nice on the inside. The furniture such as the tables, and chairs were replicated as wooden logs. The coffee table was a sleigh. Two full kitchens; one in the guest bedroom and other for the main. TV’s in all rooms. A patio deck also. Comfy couches.
They have pools, you can fish, and mini golf.
Fairly nice! This definitely would be nice if you ever wanna leave the city for a week or a weekend stay to relax.

I wouldn’t say this is a scam, everyone knows how these timeshare things go. I would however say that this place is a complete crap hole! Dirty, run down and ugly. Why the heck would I pay to vacation here?! Complete and utter joke. I’ve seen toilets nicer than this place.
Some of the timeshare staff were pissed off and downright offended (yeah right) when we said we didn’t want to pay to vacation at their shack. As if they themselves vacationed there, I don’t think so. All I could do was laugh because it was so ridiculous.
I love that sales line «Could you see yourself tanning, sleeping, grilling etc here?» Me– «Perhaps if I were dead, cremated and my ashes accidentally and foolishly blew over here after being scattered somewhere cool».
They offered a free day pass to their facilities, we told them to keep it. Shame on me for thinking this was anything other than an ordinary, depressing timeshare pitch.

O… M…G… After spending 4 hours and not 90 minutes with these people, and successfully saying no to signing up, we took advantage of their swimming pool amenities.
There were big hair balls everywhere in the pool!!! We went to 2 of them and the same thing!!! Gross!!! And their bathrooms wreaked of old urine from OUTSIDE BEFORE YOU EVEN STEPPED FOOT INSIDE… imagine the smell went you went in! Wanted to throw up!!!
Then my friend tells me to beware of dirty pools because of dangerous bacteria!!! These pools were so cloudy n dirty with bugs everywhere, I couldn’t believe it!!! And they charge a monthly maintenance fee! What maintenance!!! There IS no maintenance of the pool! You would think they’d have someone to clean it after one day of a thousand people using it… oh no… all that hair and debris could not have gotten there in just one day. They don’t clean their pools!!! I’m SO glad we didn’t sign up! I didn’t read the reviews before going there, but glad I didn’t sign up. If we did, and then went into the pools, I would have walked right back into their sales office and demanded my money back. So glad I didn’t have to go through the hassle though.
They even gave us a 2 day pass but we will not be going back for the second day in fear of already catching a disease from their pools!!! Ugh. I feel like letting the management know, but obviously they are not keeping tabs on the maintenance crew that’s supposed to be keeping up the pools n the pool decks! There were disgusting mold/​dirt puddles everywhere that we or our kids should not have been having to walk in or dodge. The thought of it still makes my skin crawl to think of our experience there today. This is my first ever review. That’s how strongly I feel about this place. Hopefully it will help to ease my discomfort to let millions of people know, but yet I still feel sick. :(

Ha! What a scam…

I was adamant at first in joining and buying the timeshare that this resort was offering me and my family since 2 and a half years ago. I took the sampler at first because of that and it gave me an opportunity to use their facility for day passes. We live in Conroe Texas and our house was about 20 minutes away from here. It did not stop us from coming back because I love fishing and boating. My wife and kiddos enjoyed their other amenities such as mini golf, archery, arcade games, mini theater, billiard tables, food at the bar. The horse back riding on the trail was mesmerizing.
Since I own a small boat, canoe, and kayaks (including SUP). I never had problem launching and docking because of this place. I find it so relaxing floating around. Not to mention the sizes of the fishes (cat fish, bass, sun fish, crappie, gar fish) I caught in this place (Lake Conroe).
After a while, we decided to go ahead and become a member. We bought our first time share. Silverleaf Resorts own Piney Shores and other resorts here in Texas. They are different from the other time share companies who only give you a week of use every year. Silverleaf gives us tons of BONUS TIMES. Because of these bonus times, now we have been going on vacations here, there and everywhere. It has transformed our family into feeling like millionaires because the Piney Shores alone became kind of like our huge back yard and playground.
Silverleaf Resorts is also a member of RCI. Which, because of that… our vacationing experience is now worldwide. I can let my families from around the world use my time share as a gift. I do not have to be there for them to enjoy it. It is better than using a hotel. Hotel does not give you a full size refrigerator, stoves and oven, utensils (knives, spoons, forks), plates and glasses, dishwasher, barbecue grills, etc.
Many of the people who I see complaining about their time shares I noted are those people who did not see the value of what they bought and so they become unhappy. Is it a scam? Definitely not. If they ever invite you to listen to their 90 minute presentations and tour, they give you cash credit rewards so your time is compensated and not wasted.
Silverleaf Resorts vacation ownership is one of the greatest things that ever happened to our family.

SCAM!!! Beware. I received a call that I had won some sort of prize, but I NEVER entered in any contest. They tell you that to get you to go down there and take a 90 minute tour, if you did not buy any thing from you, simply they just kick you out side, never believe those people, they are very bad and it seems they broke because no body rent their dirty rooms, never go there, never!!!
all people there are assholes, especially the big boss he is very mean man very greedy if you did not sign any thing with him.

When I went?, last Sunday, I feel sorry because I lost gas for those idiots thieves people that I met there…

I «won» a prize from them from a drawing on the survey I filled out at the Texas Renaissance Festival. When they called and started talking about my prizes, I felt suspicious, so I looked them up and started reading reviews of their prize scam. Girl that would call me on the phone was always laden with heavy attitude and rude. When I asked if it was a timeshare deal, she started getting incredibly defensive, when I missed my prize pickup appointment she called again and extremely rudely announced that I had missed out on all my prizes and to have a nice day and hung up on me. Even if the prize was legit (doubt it) and even if the resort itself might be passable, just don’t. Zero percent legit, very sketchy business practices, and I wish Unilocal would allow a rating of zero stars.

All I can say this time share scam is exactly what you would expect. False promises made by inept staff who will lie and deceive you every step of the process. I would recommend that you do not waste your time.

Complete scam. The fine prints on the flights say you have to pay $ 75 to fly Thurs-​Sun and pay taxes and fees. You send the rebate in by mail and they will not respond.

Bonus time is being sold the wrong way. Bait and switch. Lodges have been uncared for, seems like even if you are an Ambassador member, you get a terrible experience.
