History

Established in 1962.

From humble beginnings, an industry leader is born. The Big O Tires story begins in 1962, just as America’s new love affair with cars was hitting high gear. The market for tires was exploding, and independent tire dealers found themselves struggling to compete in the face of low prices offered by major tire manufacturers’ own company stores. Big O’s founding fathers were a handful of progressive independent tire dealers who decided to band together to form a tire-​buying cooperative so they could secure volume pricing and keep their customers happy. Their concept worked.

Almost a half-​decade later, Big O Tires has become North America’s largest retail tire franchisor, with over 400 independently-​owned and operated locations in 19 states, providing customers with a broad range of automotive services in addition to quality tires, wheels and accessories. Great people, great serives! I was recently having car trouble after car trouble. The man working up front could have recommended me to get more work done and buy a whole new set of tires. Instead he was honest with me, and told me it was a quick fix. They ended up fixing my car for nothing and told me to have a great day. WOW WHAT A BREAK! THANK YOU BIG O TIRES.

Recently I’ve dealt with big o twice, both times exceptional services and knowledgeable employees.
First time they actually drove to me about ten minutes away because my tire was wobbling. I ended up having to go somewhere else because the cause was a bent rear axle which I needed replaced. However, they didn’t have to come to me and they did, also charged me nothing for it.
Today I went in because another tire was flat but I couldn’t find the leak. They had us in and out in ten minutes, found the cause of the leak and plugged it. Charged way less than what I thought I’d end up spending.

I scheduled an appointment for an alignment on my 2013 Subaru Outback. When I arrived, they quickly pulled my car into the service bay. 15 minutes later, the mechanic drove my car to the front of the store. He explained that the wheels were aligned already and did not need their alignment services. They did not charge me for the inspection and I was quickly on my way.

This store is truly one you should stay away from. I have been a Long time customer and 3 strikes your out is how it goes with me. First they overcharged my wife when she went in alone only to profusely apologize when I went back up there the same day to point out the error. It was refunded but penalty #1. Then I was hard sold a set of tires I heard were below average in the snow. Every angle was used to talk me out of ordering (They didnt have the right size) the ones I really wanted to telling me the rep for the tires was amazing and would literally make any situation right; while telling me the other manufacturer I wanted rep was awful. Turns out I bought the tires they sold me and hated them. Penalty #2. Finally, 9 months later got a large screw in one tire and drove to the shop. I was told the tire was not repairable and I would need to buy 4 new tires. The reason was dry rot inside, turns out the tires were from 2012 (bought October 2014). They now we’re saying I didn’t want to try and fight with the rep and I would be out of a car for weeks while they sent the tire in to be analyzed (scare tactics). Anyway, after an exhaustive day I felt i had no other choice but to buy another set 9 months after new. AARGH!

I have loved the the area for a while now and have two cars i take here for tires! Have been through 2 sets of tires for each car and taken both in for Free rotation every 5,000 miles. I have never had a problem here at all! Woke up a couple times with flats living off a rocky dirt road and just pumped it up enough to make it to BigO they they fix it for free! The waiting area is nice! Comfy places to sit, T.V. free candy, and a soda machine.

What a great business! We have bought our tires from Big O Tires for years and the service has been great. We have returned time and time again to have our tires installed or our snow tires changed at the end of winter. I applaud the good customer service! And unreservedly recommend Big O Tires.

We used to have all 5 of our vehicles taken care of by the Big O in Conifer till they put 2 different sized tires on our X type Jag. Doing that caused the transmission transfer case to break. Not only did it leave us stranded on the side of the road but cost $ 3,000 to repair. Big O owner admitted the damage was most likely done by the mistake in the tires but did not offer any reimbursement for the transfer case, just said sorry. Would not ever recommend this company to anyone!

They have a policy to rotate your tires for free, even if you didn’t buy them there. I had bought chocolates, as a thank you gift, but, imagine my surprise, ehen they charged me $ 23.00! They didn’t get the chocolate.

Having been a long time customer at Big O Conifer, I am disappointed to say the service has deteriorated to the point where I can no longer go there. After spending nearly $ 1000 on a set of new tires they informed me that I had a bad tire sensor. After replacing the sensor they could not get it calibrated and my dash light was still on. I came back three times and was told to drive the car and it would reset itself. They offered no further solution. I went to a my regular mechanic and they replaced the sensor with a factory sensor made for my car and calibrated the sensors. I had to spend over $ 300 to fix what they had done. They did however refund the cost of the incompatible sensor. But after 3 trips to Big O with no relief and then a trip to my mechanic I am furious at the waste of time and money. The owner is hothead and would admit no wrongdoing.

I have been a long time customer of Big O Tire, but this week was the last time.
My wife picked up a nail that ended up ruining a relatively decent Michelin LTX AT2. The spare turned out to be flat also so the I left written instructions for my wife to purchase 2 new Michelin LTX AT2s, put one on the spare and run both new tires on the front & take the older LTX AT2 & put it in the spare position.
I returned home to find they had left the crappy /​old Bridgestone spare still on & back in the spare position & they had thrown away the perfectly fine left front LTX AT2!!!
Not to mention they scratched both plastic Toyota hubs.
Previously they badly scratched 3 of 4 ASA rims on our Mini Cooper & lost one of the large aluminum hub nuts.
Steer clear of Big O in Conifer!

I had special ordered tires & when delivered one was the wrong size, an employee drove to Denver & back to return it for the right size & I was on my way the same day. They went the extra mile for me & were very courteous & professional about the mistake that the warehouse had made. Thanks Drew!

I HATE spending money on tires, so I normally shop around and often buy tires online or however is cheapest and have somebody mount and balance them.
With that said I have been here twice and will be back. The first time I came here was just to get a nail hole fixed in a tire. They fixed it within 15 minutes and said it was free and just asked that I consider coming back and giving them a shot at my business when I needed tires. So, next time I needed tires, I did my homework and came here to give them that shot. I was actually pleasantly surprised that they came in on-​par with online stores and some others shops pricing for the set of SUV tires I was looking for.
Not just price, they were professional and pleasant. It seems simple, but in a world full of businesses that seem to constantly disapoint me with service and expectation setting, its nice to have someone that does what they say they will do.

I was quoted on the phone $ 40 to resurface two front rotors; When I went in they said it was $ 60. When I said I was quoted $ 40, they denied anybody would have said that. Since I was there and hungry for lunch, I let them do the service while I went and ate.
The work was done when I got back and there was an additional $ 8 charge for Shop Supplies. Having been in the auto repair equipment business, I am familiar with shop supplies, but most shops charge around 2%; This was 14%.
I didn’t question it because I figured if they wanted to rip me off TWICE on one repair order ($ 60 vs $ 40) and (14% aka $ 8 for shop supplies), then I was NEVER going back there again.
We mtn folks try and try and try to support our local businesses, and time and again I’ve been overcharged or scammed in one way or another.

These guys are pricey and dishonest. I had gone in to get my snow tires put on and my all-​weathers (which were only about 2 months old) taken off. Unbeknown to me, when they took the all-​weathers off they broke the beading on the tire!!! I, of course, didn’t discover this until I was getting my all-​weathers put back on when I moved out to California. So I was down a tire and had to wait a couple of weeks to get a new one.
What bothers me the most about this is the fact that they didn’t even tell me. I don’t usually avoid companies as a whole, but I don’t shop at Big O anymore.

Unfriendly, mildly sarcastic. I’d rather drive 30 min to a Firestone location and get more professional and pleasant service. I guess they can get away with it being there aren’t many businesses like this in Conifer.
