Zulu’s TLC Agility Training

Our puppy, Dessa, seems to show promise as an Agility prospect so we have been taking a puppy Agility class here with Greg. The facility is great and Greg is a wonderful trainer. Dessa is only 4 months old and is a large breed puppy from a line that is slow to mature, so we won’t be training on actual obstacle until she is 2 years old. However, this has been a great intro to Agility and we will definitely be back once Dessa is old enough to continue!

So far I’ve taken beginning classes with Greg. He is a wonderful teacher and explains things in a way that my hard head understands. Narae, the head instructor is also very kind and encouraging. She offers helpful tips even when we’re just renting the field for practice. She’s also helped me join a local raw food co-​op without even knowing me. I feel so lucky to have an awesome place full of awesome people to learn agility in my own neighborhood.

Just having started agility with my Flat Coated Retriever, I find them patient and professional. Zulu’s TLC Agility Training was recommended by a friend who I know from the breed ring. I am looking forward to working with the team there and going as far as I can with the talent my dogs have. The equipment is top notch, Greg, my trainer patient and very supportive, and best of all they have super cool misters when it gets hot to cool us all down! I don’t think I’d ever go anywhere else.

I’ve trained at several agility places over the last 20 plus years with several different dogs. Zulu’s TLC Agility is the most fun of anyplace I’ve trained. Other places also have teachers that compete at high levels, and are equally as serious about agility… but for pure fun while you’re learning, you can’t beat Zulu’s. You can be as serious or as playful as you like — the instructors are patient as well as knowledgeable.

I’d give them 10 stars if it were an option! Not only is this the best agility training facility in the East Bay, but it has been a complete game-​changer for me and both my dogs. I have a Doberman and a Pointer… not your typical agility breeds. I have learned so much from both Narae and Greg… not only handling skills, but how to give my dogs what they need to be successful. And, most importantly, they have shown me what had been missing from my agility training all along: the element of FUN! Agility class is a blast; I look forward to it all week long! And my dogs are doing so well; I’ve done several fun matches, and I’m currently kicking around the idea of entering an actual trial with my Doberman. I whole-​heartedly recommend Zulu’s TLC Agility; my dogs would too, if they were able to talk.

I love this agility training because it is super fun and there is no pressure to compete if you choose not to. I started with one dog who was far too independent to continue (she basically just makes as much effort as she wants and no more) so I adopted a second dog because I missed agility! He is an older rescue with big socialization issues and is becoming so much more relaxed being aorund such fun-​loving, active dogs and their «parents». I don’t know if we will ever compete but we are becoming a great team as he learns to listen and trust me.. . and I am becoming more coordinated which is a big bonus for a klutz like me.

I’ve been training with Narae for about 5 years between 3 different facilities. My dogs likes this facility best because it is well lit at night when we take classes, has cool misters on the patio and a safe atmosphere with fun dog friends! I like it because of the nice clean turf, awesome people and great hospitality (a lot of reasons to party and celebrate at class each week)! The equipment is very nice and I like that there is all levels of agility interest– from National competitors to people just taking the class for fun… it makes for a fun mix of people and dogs.
Narae is patient, knowledgeable and very funny!
