World-​renowned Master Tat-​Mau Wong, who has been training in martial arts since the early 1960s, has combined the traditional effective self-​defense techniques and kung fu forms and weapons training to make an unparalleled training program of modern self-​defense, kickboxing and kung fu in a motivating class atmosphere.

Business Owner

Grandmaster Tat-​Mau Wong has been involved in martial arts since 1963. In Hong Kong, he studied Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu, eventually becoming a forms champion and an undefeated Pan-​Asian full-​contact fighter.

In 1983 he opened his first academy in the U.S., in San Francisco, and has since added schools in the Bay Area, Connecticut, Brazil and Chile. His schools have won many awards, including ‘Best of The Bay’ by KPIX Evening Magazine.

In the past, Grandmaster Wong has served as SanShou Chairman for the U.S. Wushu Kung Fu Federation, President of the Pan-​American Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu Federation, and in August 2008 he was the USA Team’s Head Coach for the Wushu division of the Beijing Summer Olympics.

His efforts have been recognized internationally. ‘Inside Kung Fu’ magazine ranked him ‘One of the most influential martial artists of the 20^th Century’, and he achieved Black Belt Hall of Fame titles of ‘Kung Fu Artist of The Year’, and ‘Instructor of The Year’.
