Lava Dora Laundry

What a friendly establishment! I laundered two sleeping bags here today, and I could not be happier with the service and quality at Lava Dora. I haven’t visited a laundromat in many years, so I felt pretty out of my element. The attendant was so kind and helpful as he explained how the card system works, pointed out which machines to use, and offered advice on laundry settings and how to «freshen up» the bags. Thank you sir! I will absolutely return here for any future laundromat needs, and will highly recommend it to all my friends and neighbors.

Clean, air conditioned and not sketchy! Not crazy busy even on the weekend!!! No need for quarters just use cash for a card and your in business. Will be back

This is one of the friendliest and cleanest laundromats I have ever seen. Washers and dryers are maintained well, no need for quarters here! They use a fancy card system like the ones you get at a hotel. Always a laundry attendant if you need help. They also have a vending machine that dispenses soap and what not just in case you forget. If you’re ever in a bind and need a laundromat come here! It’s not scary or dirty at all, such a wonderful surprise!

This is one of my favorite businesses to visit. They always have very interesting and friendly staff who will gladly talk to you about whatever you want. –1 star for no wifi in 2016. Seriously, not cool guys.
1.25/lb for wash&fold, minimum 10 lbs. ATM is broken-​bring cash/​quarters if you’re that kind of person. Please ask the skinny middle aged woman working the counter about mass and weight and to double check she is getting the correct measurements and calculations for your drop off laundry. She doesn’t trust calculators.

I had a great experience here. I went here on Friday, I had some big sheets to wash. They were very helpful, The lady that worked there, I can’t thank her enough for how much she helped me figure things out and get my washes done. the machines were great and worked well too

Easy to find laundromat. Very clean and not crowded! All washers and dryers look well maintained. Reasonably priced! Service attendant available for help with machines. They do provide wash and fold servuce for $ 1.25 per lb. Definitely a hidden gem in Concord! Will be back to do laundry here!

One of the great things about this Laundromat is that it doesn’t overcrowd like so many Laundromats in Concord. Some Laundromats are notorious for customers that walk in with numerous loads of laundry and hog up a good portion of the Laundromat. I think this Laundromat is a well-​kept secret and I hope it stays that away. Another advantage is that it’s always possible to find parking. I used to visit a Laundromat on Contra Costa Blvd, but if I didn’t visit very early in the morning it was sometimes literally impossible to find parking. It got to the point I was getting up at 6am to get to the laundry before it became crowded with cars. One time I had to return home because there was absolutely no parking. That small shopping center was so poorly planned. Lava Dora has been my most favorite Laundromat for several months now. I live very close to two other Laundromats which are always very crowded with people with large families. I’m more than willing to drive a couple of miles further to avoid the crowds. I also love that I am able to use a card which I can refill, and there’s always an attendant there that can help out with whatever you may need.

Have you ever been in «laundromat hell»? Broken machines that eat your quarters, filthy folding tables, soap all over the floor? Not so at Lava Dora!
Lava Dora is a clean, well maintained, and best of all, staffed laundromat. There is always an employee there to answer your questions and make sure the laundromat is clean and that the machines are functioning properly.
You don’t use quarters here, you buy swipe cards from a vending machine. If you do show up with a load of quarters they will change them for you. The swipe cards can be a little tricky, but with a little practice you will get the technique down.
The machines are numerous, with plenty of dryers. Extra large washers and dryers are available for big loads or large items.
Wash and fold is available for a per pound fee. Drop your clothes off, pick them up later! Easy peasy!
Seating is available, as is a TV, usually showing Discovery channel type shows, or kids shows if there are restless children. There is also a restroom available.
There is a donut shop and two thrift stores nearby if you want to check them out while your clothes go round and round.

I needed a place to wash my comforter, I found this place in Unilocal and decided to check it out since it had good reviews.
The lady working here was the nicest most helpful person I have ever encounter at a laundry mat. The place was clean, they have a small tv that allows time to go by quicker.
People who came in to do their Landry were friendly and totally not shady.

This laundromat is the best! The place is kept very clean. They are continously cleaning and disinfecting the equipment. The lint filters are vacuumed out twice per day. The counter tops are clean and spacious. We go at least once per week all the way from Clayton. No need for a washer and dryer when you can conveniently visit Lava Dora.

Reading the reviews, and knowing parts of the area, I assumed this place would be like walking into Skid Row. I was greatly mistaken though. While the plaza this facility is located in is nothing special (next to what appeared to be a completely empty barber shop so plenty of parking), the inside is quite nice. Everything looks really new, both the machines and the granite finish on the counter tops. The floors looked very new too, as well as the bathrooms. The tables to fold your laundry after you dry it were long enough that a lot of people could have their own space without bumping elbows with someone next to them. I also liked they had a sink in the front of the building to wash your hands or to wash any excess soap that dripped down your detergent container. Like mentioned previously, the lower the temperature you select on the washing machine, the cheaper it is. I paid under $ 10 for a rather large bin of clothes plus sheets, and only had to use the medium sized machines for both. The debit card you use for laundry services (and the bathroom, free with the card) is a little tricky; after you put your money in for a new card, if you don’t put it all in quickly, the machine spits out a card with no money on it. I learned this after the helpful attendant showed me and told me how to get a new card. It’s on some type of timer or something. So after I caught up on Hardcore Pawn on the tv they have mounted to the wall above the washing machines, I ventured over to the drying section for phase 2. $.25 for 8 mins, I did it for 40 minutes but my clothes weren’t completely dry, so I suggest close to an hour for larger loads. All in all, I was looking for a place close to work, and this laundromat does it for me.

I had never used a Laundry mat before, but the owner took some time to show me how the machines worked and how to get money on their card.

I’ve been using this Laundromat since my family moved to Concord 6 months ago. The machines are new, the place is clean and the folks working there have been very friendly UNTIL TODAY!
I arrived at the Laundromat at 8:30pm and started washing my clothes. By 9:35ish I started folding, but I had a few loads so it took me a little time. The business closes at 10pm so the Janitor closed the door at 10pm, and then told me to leave because he needed to mop the floors.
I asked him to give me a few minutes as I needed to finish packing my clothes, however, at 10:05pm I was kicked out of the place, with him yelling at me and telling me to get out! He also told me that he didn’t want to see me there again! At 10:07 pm (I looked at their clock), I was standing in front of the Laundromat waiting for my husband to pick me up, feeling disrespected and insulted!
Was this really necessary? I recommended this place to some of my friends before, but I’d not recommend it again. It was a very unpleasant experience!

simply put, one of the cleanest laundry places i’ve ever been too. The guys there really run a tight ship.
there are plenty of washers and dryers, and should you ever need help loading or unloading, the people there don’t hesitate to give a hand.

I gave this place a try based on other Unilocalers’ reviews, and I’m glad I did! This IS a really nice place, very clean, double and triple capacity washers, huge dryers, lots of rolling baskets that are impeccably clean. Being someone who hasn’t used a laundry facility for nearly 20 years, the person on duty was kind enough to come over and show me how to use the machines, as I’m sure I was looking pitifully inept.
I’m not sure if it’s cheaper or not, but if people here say they are, then I believe it. I paid $ 2.95 for a double cold water wash, and $ 1.25 for the dryer. Much cheaper than the laundry facility where I live (where there are 3 washers and 3 dryers for the entire building… but that’s another story!), and LOTS of machines here, which is great.
I love that they’re open early (7am — 10pm 7 days a week) since I’m an early bird and do my best work in the mornings.

I am subtracting two stars for the unbelievably RUDE employee (a man of some Middle Eastern descent) who worked this past Saturday night. It’s 5 minutes before closing and he’s trying to kick me out, and keeps moving closer and closer to me. I’m female and alone in a deserted strip mall. To add insult to injury, when I called to report the conduct of this employee, «June» was more interested in reminding me of the posted closing time (which I’m well aware of, thanks), than my feeling threatened late at night. If this is what the owners consider good business practices, it’s time for me to find another facility.

I’m new to laundromats, but this place was great. The first few times I just found the closest place to my home which was a mistake. I found poorly running machines at really high prices, but after reading the reviews on Unilocal I drove down the road to Lava Dora and I can’t wait to go back ! Fast, easy, friendly, clean, and lots of machines. Also, cheaper than the other spots! w00t!

I wasn’t too happy that my apartment didn’t have a washer and dryer onsite and that I’d have to take my laundry to a laundromat. After a little bit of searching, I came across Lava Dora, and I’ve never looked back.
The facility is always clean. The owners have exceptionally high standards. They are usually onsite, and when they’re not, the staff knows that they are expected to meet these standards.
The area is not the best (near a thrift store, a Goodwill, and several low-​rent apartments), but the owners keep the place clean and they watch the customers who come in pretty closely.
I also love that the machines don’t use quarters. They use a debit card system that is much more convenient than quarter-​based systems.

I have been going here for years. I have tried many of the laundromats in the area (and there are many) and Lava Dora is far and away the best by a long shot for the following reasons:
– Always attended by the owners & they are very helpful and friendly.
– Machines always work.
– Always immaculately clean.
– I never have any trouble getting a machine.
– They are lower priced than any other laundromat.
– They’re open long hours (7am-​10pm).
– Plenty of parking if you drive.
– Easy to get to by bus (County Connection line 10).
– Plenty of nearby shopping while you wait for your laundry.
There are about half a dozen laundromats closer to my house but I pass them by to come here.
Until I am wealthy enough to have a «staff» that does my laundry for me, this place and the owners make the tedious chore of me doing my own laundry bearable. ;o)
