This place is great. The only place I trust with my beard. I went in and asked Pam to make my head look good with no other instructions and I have never been happier with a hair cut. She is also is good with a straight razor. I don’t even trust myself with one but she knows what she’s doing. Go there and give them money.

Just tried Ray’s for the first time last week. This was exactly the kind of barbershop I have been looking for! Best cut I’ve had in YEARS! Highly recommended!

This review has been too long coming. I live in Walnut Creek, and have been previously going to my old barber out there. They have been getting busier and busier, and after the last beard trim, I came away very disappointed. I looked like a barbarian, quite frankly, and I resolved to give this place another try. I normally come on the weekedays and see Pam, who is quite good. I came in on a Saturday, and got my beard trimmed by Ray instead. All I can say is: holy moly. The man knows how to cut a beard better than anyone I have ever seen. He makes multiple passes from many different angels, and got my beard looking the best it has in years. He and his co-worker have, between the two of them, more than 100 years of experience in barbering. I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in getting an outstanding haircut or beard trim.

gloria is the best barber at rays barber shop, but she is only there on sundays and mondays. i usually try to get in on a monday afternoon and always leave feeling like a million dollars. very reasonable prices and a fantastic haircut! rays hideaway barber shop is next door to my favorite local donut shop, kings donuts which also rates very high on Unilocal

This place truly catches the essence of a small town barbershop. I’ve only been there a few times(two to three weeks apart), and I’m known there by first name base. Pam usually cuts or shape me up. I usually get a normal fade with a trim of my beard, and she does superb job. Not many barbershops will take the time to make sure your cult is exactly how you want it. Give hot towel treatment at no extra cost, and have a good conversation while they’re doing their job. Also Ray, the owner, is a really cool guy. Get the guy talking about bowling an race cars, and you’re in for such an entertaining time. Anyways, this place is truly awesome. Good people, good cuts for reasonable prices. I would always go there for as long I’m in concord.
