Just Bead It

This is such a wonderful place! The owner, Joyce is so helpful and patient! It was my first time beading and she walked me through all the steps. She’s a wonderful teacher with so many helpful tips! My mom made a stitch marker and I made a necklace and earrings.

I walked in and was immediately greeted by April. This family business has been around for 13 years and it shows. The environment was welcoming and laid back yet the sight of all the beads was overwhelming, in a good way.
April immediately solved my problem for my necklace which needed rebeading with new material. Not only did she suggest leather for mine, cut, and bead my necklace right there In front of me, but she was friendly, kind hearted, and everything you’d want about it.
I’m so happy!

Not the best selection of beads in my opinion. Has a little of this and a little of that which works for a quick emergency trip to the local bead shop. Just not my first pick. Family owned and run and there is a lot of bickering whenever there is a lot going on (classes and shoppers and phone ringing).

We just hosted my daughter’s 11^th birthday party here. What a great place for a party! For one price the staff decorated with balloons, a sign, and a banner, and they provided the cake, plates, napkins, drinks, and each guest got to make (and take home) a beautiful necklace and bracelet. My daughter even got a special necklace with her initial and gemstone as a bonus gift! Wonderful, kind, patient staff and a fantastic experience all around!

Stopped in today for the first time. There were a few other customers, the place us bright, clean, and has a pretty good selection for such a small place. I got to browse without being stalked, which allowed me to find more treasures :)
There was a class going on in the front room, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The lady that helped me at checkout (I believe the owners daughter?) was SO nice! Great customer service, pointed out limited items from a trunk show going on & signed me up for email coupons. I will most definitely be back!

I started by taking a private lesson cuz I was having problems with a kit I bought on line. Joyce has (beyond) the patience of a saint. I was surprised (more than once) that she didn’t rip it out of my hands and do it herself. Cuz I would’ve. I’ve since taken a few classes and sit n string is great. They also have kits and a fabulous selection of everything you need to Just Bead It !

I came here with my daughter this afternoon to see if we could get a broken link in her allergy bracelet fixed and we had a wonderful experience with talented staff, affordable pricing, and expedient service. Also, we were able to get the clasp on my mom’s beaded necklace changed to a magnetized clasp. Couldn’t be happier.

I’ve shopped here for years and have shopped at all the bead stores in the east bay and each has its pros and cons. Today, however, JUST BEAD IT rose head and shoulders above the others this side of the bridge by taking the time to take phone pics and msg them to me to potentially save me a trip to the store. I was looking for a particular color and type of thread and Marie (whom I believe is a member of the family that owns the store), was so polite and helpful that I am compelled to buy all my supplies there whether they have the best price or not. She just went out of her way to try and get me what I needed and that is so rare these days. Most of the time you encounter people who have the attitude «if it’s not here on the shelf, we don’t carry it and you’re just out of luck — too bad!». They don’t care in the slightest how the store not carrying an item you need impacts you. It is completely irrelevant to them, they are in the store to put in their required hours and collect a paycheck. End of story. Not Marie at JUST BEAD IT. She cares and she takes care of the customer. Well she sure took care of me anyway. Great job, Marie!

This family business in my opinion, and pardon the pun, is a true gem. Their store is well organized and conveniently located. They have multiple classes, at a reasonable fee and taught by an incredibly patient and equally talented instructor. Their service is exceptional. I took a class there yesterday and couldn’t wait to tell someone how much I appreciate them. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

great prices on supplies and location location location, easy to find and hard to miss. went ther last week and was impressed wy thru. and will being making this my crafts supply store for the family for sure.

A wonderful family-​owned business with friendly, talented staff and lots of jewelry options to choose from. I go as often as I get the chance to make personal pieces for myself and my business clients!

To be fair, I’ve shopped here twice. Ideally, I like to visit a crafty place a few times before I give it my two cents. The problem here is that I’m neither motivated nor encouraged to return.
The selection seems decent. I’m largely into seed beads for Native beadwork, and I was able to find a good selection. I also like turquoise and other earthy stones; they had none. Depending on what you prefer, you may or may not like it. I wasn’t terribly impressed, but I could at least get the beads I wanted.
Their book selection was sparse, if not a bit disappointing. I like books, especially books about basic, advanced, or time honored techniques, rare or old books, and newly published books. Instead, many of the books were about how to make glitzy crap. No thanks.
The redeeming feature could have been the prices. Everything here is fairly reasonable, and sometimes you can score 25% off your purchase.
Unfortunately, this place has poor customer service. No hello when I walk in, no assistance offered while I walk around, and certainly no thank you when I hand over my money. That bothers me. A lot.
It’s too bad, too. I try to support small businesses, and this place is right in town. And, frankly, I’m the kind of person you want in a place like that.

Have come in to the store 3 or 4 times a year for the last couple of years. Have tried to like the place, cause its a small business and I want family businesses to survive. However, the people who work there must be reserving all the good vibes for people who come in all the time. I usually get more conversation and courtesy from the other ladies shopping there than from the people who work there. With that said, now I know the store does not offer refunds, I will not be going back. As much as I support small businesses, when I don’t feel my patronage is welcome I will not continue to shop there.

I went here hoping to find individual semi-​precious stones but only found a few and the quality was not very good. They have a lot of «recreated» gem stones. There is also a room where you can do your bead work in the store. I don’t think you can beat the prices and selection at Michael’s but this place does sell individual beads and findings if that’s what you need.

This is a really cute bead store with a pretty decent selection of beads. Unfortunately for me, they don’t have a very large selection of gemstones. And, the ones they do have, are rarely marked as to what kind of stone they are. That being said, this place will probably suit your needs. Plus, they lady who checked me out gave me both the Unilocal check in discount and their newsletter discount. I thought that was very nice of her considering I didn’t know about the one in the newsletter.

I don’t write reviews often, but when I do, it’s because I’ve found an outstanding place to do business. Just bead It is right there at the top.
My attempts to teach myself basic wire jewelry techniques were successful enough, however I wanted to take some classes to fine tune my efforts and learn more. Not all places that sell beads and bead supplies give classes, and not all places that give classes are qualified to do so. Not so with the classes I’ve taken at Just Bead It.
I was so pleased with the outcome of the Basic Stringing class that I signed up for the Basic Wiring class right after that. Even though I only wanted to learn the basics, I found myself signing up for more classes and never being disappointed. Joyce (Instructor) has always made herself available for questions and help, as well as brainstorming with me to help with a new design.
I can’t speak highly enough of all the family members and owners of Just Bead It. Family they may be, but when all is said and done you can’t help but feel like part of the family. …because they’re just those kind of people.
Do yourself a favor and check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been coming to this place for a long time now so I’m actually amazed at myself that I haven’t Unilocaled it yet.
I really love this place. This is where I go to for supplies because they’ve got my bases covered. They’ve got sterling, silver plated, gold plated, copper, now antiqued copper and brass hardware for earrings and necklaces. They’ve got a great a selection of gemstones which will always be my favorite (and for very fair prices) and a great selection of Czech glass. Oh yeah and they’ve got a lot of novelty beads. And they’ve got jewelry tools, leather and seed beads galore. Very wide selection.
The best thing about this place is not their selection, (although that is one of the primary reasons why this place is so great) it’s the fact that this business is family owned by three complete dolls. A mother and her two daughters (plus their father occasionally) are to be seen here every day of the week except tuesday patiently helping everyone that comes in with a random question. They keep their place well stocked and spotlessly clean every day. You just can’t find great service too many places. That is also why this place is way better than the Walnut Creek beading store– those ladies have attitude and their prices are way too high.
When I come to this store I know that what I’m paying is right on and I’ve scoured ebay and etsy for supplies. You cannot get an overly high price past me. And that’s all I got to say about that.

I was looking for beading stores in the area and, thru Unilocal,found that there was one nearby in Concord. My sister and I decided to explore and drove out there today (a Saturday). The store had a few customers browsing, as well as a class in session. I did not purchase anything this trip but the prices seemed okay. I hope to return soon!

Recently went on the hunt for the perfect large beads for a beading project and we discovered this wonderful store.
Lots of parking nearby, excellent variety of beads, supplies & tools, beading classes are available in their spacious classroom.

This store may seem small from the outside, but once you get inside, its covered wall too wall in beads. I spent about 40 minutes browsing at all the beads, charms, chains, toggles, and swarovski! They have a huge selection of everything here! While their selection of swarovski biocones is HUGE, the charms are not. But they do offer some really good ones.
This store is defiantly worth checking out!
